Finely atomized sprays from multi-hole gasoline direct injection (GDI) fuel injectors make them an ideal choice for automobile applications. A knowledge of the factors affecting the performance of these injectors is hence important. In the study presented here, we employ statistical extinction tomography to examine the transient characteristics of two GDI fuel injectors with five and six holes. Two axial locations, 25 mm and 35 mm from the injector exit, are chosen for experimental measurements, and the dependence of injection pressure and ambient temperature on plume locations and angles is examined from these measurements. A pressure chamber with opposing windows is used which permits the nozzle to be rotated 12 times (30° each rotation) to obtain information on the complete spray structure. Additionally, the plume centroid locations are measured and compared with those obtained with a mechanical patternator. The centroid locations from the two instruments compare favorably.

The reliability and applicability of the preparation of the three, for nuclear medicine very important, 99mTc-radiopharmaceuticals from the inactive (technetium-cold) kit solutions were tested. Each examined commercial kit was dissolved in saline (0.9% NaCl). The conditions of the storage of the inactive kit solutions till labeling were examined. The main problem is the stablity of the reductant stannous ions which is very difficult to predict. To stabilize and ensure a good quality of the labeled radiopharmaceuticals, ascorbic or gentisic acid were added. It was found that the best results were obtained by keeping the samples frozen at -20?C. Both stabilizers can be used but for an effective protection much lower concentrations of ascorbic acid are needed. Its concentrations of 12-60 ?g/ml of the kit, stabilized dimercaptosuccinate (DMS) and pyrophosphate (PyP) for about 7-8 days. The solution of 2,3-dicarboxypropane- 1,1-diphosphonate (DPD) was found to be stable even without the stabilizer. This could be attributed probably to the chemical nature of this complex. However, in routine praxis the applied procedure demands great care and personel very experienced in radiopharmacy.

The primary objective of this study is to develop an empirical model that accounts for factors affecting the demand for international tourist hotels, and that enables demand estimation and projection in the context of the Seoul metropolitan area. International hotel demand for a metropolitan area such as Seoul is hypothesized as a function of the price of hotel rooms, the number of events such as international conventions, seminars and exhibitions; and total trade volume of the destination country. The dependent variable is the number of bed nights occupied by foreign guests in a given period. The study discusses a procedure for correctly estimating a time-series regression model. Consideration is given to the possibility that errors in the model are generated by a time-dependent process more than by a first-order autoregressive process. The findings of the study revealed that own price, the number of events and the trade volume directly affected demand. Some factors were proven to affect the demand indirectly through adjustment of price in the short run. Further the study revealed that demand is a function of the entire market mechanism, which is the inter-relationship of demand and price among different market segments.
