AbstractCorporate reputation is widely acknowledged to contribute to business success by academics and business executives. Despite the importance of corporate reputation in all markets, we lack sufficient research into what reputation might mean in the context of companies in developing countries. This paper addresses this lingering gap in the literature by investigating the dimensions that make service organisations reputable from the perspective of four primary stakeholder groups of two large service organisations. The paper also sought to determine whether the same reputation dimensions apply to service organisations in general, or whether they differ according to the type of service organisation. Empirical data were sourced using the mixed-method approach, and analysis revealed 16 items across 6 dimensions that constitute the reputation of service organisations. The study also found that there is not much difference between the reputation dimensions of two organisations used in this study. However, it reveals major differences between the dimensions derived from the developing country context, and those derived from developed contexts. This illustrates that context-specific reputation measures can emerge which are important in understanding how reputation is created and can be managed. Consequently, it underscores the need for more scientific researches into reputation dimensions in different contexts (countries and organisations).

Objective. This paper describes the methods and key findings of formative research conducted to design a schoolbased program for obesity prevention. Materials and methods. Formative research was based on the ecological model and the principles of social marketing. A mixed method approach was used. Qualitative (direct observation,indepth interviews, focus group discussions and photo-voice)and quantitative (closed ended surveys, checklists, anthropometry)methods were employed. Results. Formative research key findings, including barriers by levels of the ecological model, were used for designing a program including environmental strategies to discourage the consumption of energy dense foods and sugar beverages. Conclusion. Formative research was fundamental to developing a context specific obesity prevention program in schools that seeks environment modification and behavior change.

Purpose This paper aims to propose and test a modified technology acceptance model for the social media networks (SMNs) in the luxury hotel context, integrating satisfaction and continued usage intention, using a mixed-method approach. SMNs have revolutionized the way people communicate, search for information and share experiences. The technology acceptance model is the predominant theory for researching technology acceptance; however, there is a gap in identifying and testing context-specific constructs. Design/methodology/approach This paper uses a mixed-method approach. The researchers conducted 16 interviews and 258 questionnaires with luxury hotel guests. Following the collection of data, interviews and questionnaires were analyzed using thematic and partial least square analysis. Findings Findings show that accessibility, trust, social influence and perceived benefits influence perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, which affect attitude and satisfaction and ultimately continued usage intentions. Findings also reveal that enjoyment, although qualitatively proposed, does not influence luxury hotel guests’ SMNs continued usage intention. Practical implications This study suggests that hotel managers have to concentrate their marketing efforts in enhancing SMN’s interaction and increasing the number of positive reviews to retain current customers and acquire new ones. Hotels should also develop effective mobile strategies by adopting mobile social network webs and applications, as accessibility becomes more important in today’s marketplace. Originality/value Former scholars adopted the approach of proposing external dimensions based on previous research and, thus, did not integrate up-to-date and context-specific variables. Therefore, the present paper uses a new approach by exploring SMN-specific dimensions and testing them in the luxury hotel context.

Urbanization is playing a key role in big cities of developing countries, which, in effect, is increasing the population. This study takes care of the mega infrastructure project (Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT)) to explore and identify the H&S (Health and Safety) factors that affect the local residents and the main key stakeholders working on the project. A Sequential Mixed-Method approach of the OLMT-project includes qualitative and quantitative methods were adopted. The data have been collected from the targeted population working on the OLMT-project through a questionnaire. The main key finding of the study indicates that poor planning and a lack of communication between the public and government led to frustration. The most significant factors that identified in the study were unsafe to work practice, project scope constraints, lack in technical and material support, unsafe/bad condition, health/environment degradation, declination and loss of resources and time, no proper emergency system, and negligence in adopting safety rules and laws. The study also revealed that the consensus should also be noticed between the key stakeholders (e.g., contractors, clients, safety officials, academia) in the second round of the Delphi survey of the project. The study findings will help the key stakeholders to prioritize their energies towards attaining zero levels of inadequate health and safety practices in infrastructure projects. The study outcomes can also be generalized for the other developing countries having a similar work scenario.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the determinants and strategies of digital transformation adoption (DTA) in a developing country context through the lens of price value, hedonic motivation, inherent innovativeness and technology readiness. The study also investigates the impact of COVID-19 on banks in Ghana from the managers' perspectives and provide possible solutions for banks' successful transitioning and uptake of digital transformation in a post COVID-19 era. The study was carried out using a mixed-method approach from banks in Ghana. The findings of the study revealed that customers' technology acceptance and adoption of innovation is fraught with challenges. At the same time, employees/banks struggled to adjust to new technologies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Further, the findings indicate that price value, inherent innovativeness and technology readiness were the significant factors in DTA. Conversely, hedonic motivation was an insignificant factor in a developing country context. The paper concludes with a conceptual model for emergency digital transformation to respond to future pandemics.

There is a need to improve the digital capabilities of the health workforce through training and education. Until now there has not been a national strategy that addresses the digital capability gaps in the existing and emerging health workforce. This paper describes the development of a national strategy to improve the digital capabilities of Australia’s health workforce. A mixed-method approach was used to incorporate the findings of a literature review, stakeholder interviews, online and offline workshops, consumer interviews, and surveys to develop the national strategy. Various stakeholder groups across all Australian jurisdictions were engaged in its development. The final strategy consists of key principles, a three-horizon framework reflecting the maturity levels, and a digital profile framework articulating the expectations of the many stakeholders in health.
