The study deals with the Contextual Teaching and Learning of the students’ reading comprehension at junior high school. Contextual Teaching and Learning is a new alternative for every teachers to relate the materials to the real world. The aims of the research are to analyze the effect of non and CTL method of the students’ reading comprehension.  The research method is an experimental method. The data analysis is taken from the two classess. Then, they divided into two  groups, the control and experimental group. The major findings of the study shows that the effect of Contextual Teaching and Learning on the students’ reading comprehension is better than the non CTL method-lecture method for the junior high school students.

This study aims to determine the level of mathematical understanding ability of students before and after the application of realistic mathematics learning and to describe the application of the Realistic Mathematics Learning approach at Nempu Hilir State Middle School 3 in the algebraic material form. This type of research is Classroom Action Research. The research subjects were seventh grade students of State Junior High School 3 Siempat, Nempu Hilir 2017/2018 Academic Year, amounting to 30 people. The results of this study indicate that the level of mathematical understanding of students in class VII-C State Junior High School 3 Siempat Nempu Hilir before and after the application of Realistic Mathematics Learning increased. The application of realistic mathematical learning approaches is applied in several steps, namely first, providing contextual problems. Second, explain contextual problems. Third, resolve contextual problems. Fourth, discuss answers. Fifth, conclude. The implementation of a realistic mathematics learning approach in the State Junior High School 3 Siempat of Nempu Hilir in the algebraic form material has been classified as good.

The Effect of Rigorous Mathematical Thinking (RMT) Learning Approach On Students’ Understanding of Mathematical Concepts AbstractAn understanding of mathematical concepts (PKM) has an important role because with this ability students are easy in building relationships to understand new ideas and concepts. The ability of PKM can be grown-developed through learning in the classroom. To achieve these skills, learning needs to pay attention to the diversity of students because learning that accommodates diversity becomes more effective, efficient, and engaging. Such diversity can be Gender (G), An initial mathematical ability (KAM) and students’ mathematics learning styles (GBM). One approach to learning that accommodates diversity is the Rigorous Mathematical Thinking (RMT) learning approach. This article aims to examine the ability of junior high school students who have learned RMT approach in terms of: a). Gender, b). students’ KAM, and c). students’ GBM. This research is an experimental research on junior high school students in one school in Bandung. One important result is that this learning engages students with medium and low of KAM able to achieve good abilities.

Abstract The aims of this study were to determine effectiveness of the mathematics learning approach inimproving students’ mathematical connection. This research used two Group Pretest-Posttest designs. The sample selected of this study was from random sampling, that is two classes were selected with 58 students. This research was conducted in grade VIII-1 Junior High School Al-Islamiyah Putat-Tanggulangin, Sidoarjo. The instruments of this research used essay test and observation. The results showed that the practicality of the realistic mathematic learning approach effectively used, was characterised by the ability of the teachers to manage learning to meet the criteria of good; student activities, positive student responses, and completeness of the classical student learning more than 80%. Furthermore, based on student learning outcomes, it can be concluded that the students' mathematical connection ability increases.

This study aims to produce e-modules with a contextual teaching and learning approach that is valid, practical, and effective to increase students' interest in learning. This development research uses the Plomp model which consists of three phases, namely the preliminary research phase, the prototyping phase, and the assessment phase. The prototype trial was conducted on 16 eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Tirtayasa, Indonesia. The research instrument consisted of an expert validation sheet to assess the validity, a student response questionnaire to assess practicality, and a student learning interest questionnaire to assess the effectiveness of the e-module. This research produces an e-module with a contextual teaching and learning approach to increase the interest of junior high school students in learning mathematics in the context of everyday life. Although the increase in student interest in learning is still relatively low, overall the e-modules developed are considered valid, practical, and effective, so that they are suitable for use in learning mathematics in junior high schoolsKeywords: Mathematics Module, Contextual Teaching and Learning Interest in Learning Mathematics

This research based article was aimed at explaining the effect of Contextual Teaching and Learning and Problem Based Learning on the establishment of Ecological Competence in Civic Education in Junior High School. It was a quasi-experiment research with pretest-posttest control group design. The population was student grade VII of SMP Negeri 2 Surakarta. The sample was chosen randomly, consist of one classroom as experimental group and another classroom as control group. Instrument for collecting data were test, questionnaire, and observation. It can be concluded that the establishment of ecological competence among junior high school students though through contextual teaching and learning are more effective than those who were though by problem based learning and conventional one. It was indicated by the result of one way anova Fcount Ftable (24.0313.11) and P=0.0000.05).
