Legal Issues Associated with the Study of Sexual Content on the Internet in Australia

Transformations of humans through advances in bioelectronics, nanotechnologies, and computer science are leading to hybrids of humans and machines. Future brain-machine interfaces will enable humans not only to be constantly linked to the Internet, and to cyber think, but will also enable technology to take information directly from the brain. Brain-computer interfaces, where a chip is implanted in the brain, will facilitate a tremendous augmentation of human capacities, including the radical enhancement of the human ability to remember and to reason, and to achieve immortality through cloning and brain downloading, or existence in virtual reality. The ethical and legal issues raised by these possibilities represent global challenges. The most pressing concerns are those raised by privacy and autonomy. The potential exists for control of persons, through global tracking, by actually “seeing” and “hearing” what the individual is experiencing, and by controlling and directing an individual’s thoughts, emotions, moods, and motivations. Public dialogue must be initiated. New principles, agencies, and regulations need to be formulated and scientific organizations, states, countries, and the United Nations must all be involved.

The dialectics between private pleasures and public needs raise various dilemmas, especially in the domain of the erotic and aesthetics. These are relative and abstract terms that can vary from individual to individual. However, in the public spaces of the Internet, the need for community standards of decency, acceptability, and taste often drag many of the debates about the Internet into a legal space, despite its description as a virtual sphere and the libertarian endeavours to keep it free from government and organizational control. While the Internet is a global resource it is often ruled through the laws of its physical embeddedness, and the global nature of the Internet also means that it is consumed and assessed through the differing cultural practices and norms that prevail in various parts of the world. The Internet as a communication and information platform is then subject to varying codes of ethical and moral conduct by different communities whether online or off-line. While the realm of the erotic is often equated with individual pleasure and psyche, the proliferation of pornography on a public platform raises social, moral, and legal concerns for communities, states, and governments. One significant element in the development of the Internet as a market place has been the availability of explicit sexual material, and these electronic networks continue to feed the pornography boom and facilitate new methods for consumers to interact with sexual content as “porn” (Spencer, 1999). These networks highlight the “privatising” potential of technology, especially in relation to sexual matters, while illuminating new forms of formal and informal exchanges (Jacobs, 2004, p.72; Spencer, 1999). The Internet, from being a rather unregulated enterprise a few years ago, has recently become the focus of multiple ethical concerns and debates and in some cases, it has amounted to moral panic (Bkardjieva & Feenerg, 2000; Cavanagh, 1999).

Today, it is common for patients to order prescription drugs via their home computer through an Internet pharmacy. Because of this, pharmacists may be faced with having to evaluate a patient's drug regimen that may include foreign-made imported drugs obtained through the Internet. This article addresses major issues involving drug importation via this mechanism. Topics discussed include types of Internet pharmacies, patient access to prescription drugs, self-medication, legal issues, and potential health risks. The current level of activity of Internet drug sales has reached record volume and does not appear to be subsiding; pharmacists should be aware of these emerging influences on their practice.

The internet offers unprecedented power to provide users with health information for patients, health professionals, and professionals. Maintaining the integrity, data systems, and confidentiality of individual health information, quality of content, and consumer protection and the commercial interests of the health industry against unethical practices, are areas of greatest concern in the implementation and use of the Internet. However, there is no national and international legislation for regulating the use of online-based health services. This research is a Literature review that aims to explore ethical and legal issues in the use of online-based health services (E-Health). The review process begins by identifying journal articles that are relevant to the research topic. This study concludes that the use of online-based health services (E-Health) is an important public health issue. E-Health emerged as a tool for developing new diagnostics and therapeutic interventions. Ethical issues related to crossing clinical practice and online communication about health services. This allows discriminatory or unethical behavior and is not following the professional code of ethics. E-Health licensing standards and regulations have not been implemented in many countries. So that health workers are required to code of ethics in the use of online-based health services (E-Health).

This article details about cyber child Pornography, Pornography is not only an emerging issue in India but also over all the worlds. A worst and adverse effect of the technology can be seen in this era. The word pornography is defined as “writing, photographs, movies etc. intended to arouse sexual excitement.” The objectives of the research paper: to study about pornography and its adverse impact on society and to critically analyze whether pornography is violence in media with reference to legal issues and challenges on pornography in India. The research has used empirical methodology, it has been proceeded with a method of random sampling. The article has also dealt with various issues and challenges of cyber child pornography in India. One third of the internet is covered by porn-sites which are leading to exploitation oppression of women and children. While nobody will take into account himself or herself proof against the corrupting effects of creation and violence or safe from injury at the hands of these acting underneath their influence, the young and therefore the immature ar particularly vulnerable and therefore the presumably to be victimized. Through this article researcher highlights about pornography, and the public opinion about cyber child pornography and the existing laws to prevent. Findings and conclusion Researcher emphasizes through this article the adverse impact of it on society, children and women and recommended strong control of law over it because there is a increasing rate of children in pornography and media been used a forum to expand. So, there must be stringent to combat cyber child pornography.
