Medication adherence is behavior that refers to client obeys in following a medication, and makes lifestyle changes in accordance of recommendations from health care providers. Antiretroviral adherence is paramount for HIV/AIDS patients. The effects were often a problem in antiretroviral treatment and toxicity and often be the reason for replacing or stopping antiretroviral treatment. This study aimed to determine the “E-Patuh” Applications effect on antiretroviral adherence in patients Of HIV/AIDS In West Java. The research design was a quasi-experimental with nonequivalent control group design. The location of this research was in RSUD Kota Bandung and in RSUD Kota Banjar. The respondents was selected without randomization and used purposive sampling technique. Respondents in this study were 30 respondents. Data were obtained using self-report questionnaires. The intervention group was monitored a 30-day android-based E-Patuh application and monitored on an E-Patuh website and then measured adherence value with self-report. Data were analyzed using SPSS 22 with chi-square test. The results showed a significant difference between adherence value before and after application of E-Patuh in the intervention group with (p <0.05) with obtained p value = 0,006. The results of this study prove a positive effect on the using of E-Patuh applications against ARV medication adherence in the intervention group with the support system of the E-Patuh application. The used of E-Patuh is helpful in improving ARV adherence in HIV/AIDS patients. The features contained in E-Patuh were directly reminiscent of the timing of taking medication for PWLH. E-Patuh should be consideration for PLHIV and health care providers in hospitals to improve ARV adherence to reduce mortality rates in people living with HIV.

Background: AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) is a collection of symptoms or diseases caused by a decrease in the immune system from the body due to infection from the HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) which belongs to the retroviridae family. Teenagers themselves are vulnerable to HIV/AIDS. The right and precise knowledge of HIV and AIDS is important in HIV prevention efforts in adolescents. Method: This research is a descriptive research with cross-sectional design. The sample population of this study was grade XII senior high school students of the 2020/2021 at Methodist – 2 Medan by sampling total sampling. This study was analyzed univariately to look at the descriptive images. Result: From the results of this study, it has obtained that the knowledge level of students grade XII Methodist - 2 Medan had good knowledge about HIV / AIDS with the number of 144 people (70.6%). Conclusion: From this study, it was found that the level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS was mostly in a good category.

<p>HIV infection in pregnant women can threaten the life of the mother and the mother can transmit the virus to their babies. Sleman PHC registered 2 people including one pregnant woman and one women of childbearing age in the year of 2014. Incidence of pregnant women suffering from HIV-AIDS in 2014 is 1 patients and detected from PITC test results for 7 weeks in a row is 1 patient. And in January year of 2015 found 1 patient with 3 times test and the results was positive. The purpose of this study was to determine relationship between Knowledge Level of Pregnant women about HIV/AIDS and Behaviour of PITC (Provider Initiated Test and Counselling) test. This study was a quantitative analysis of correlation with cross-sectional design. The population of this study were all pregnant women checkups at the health center in Yogyakarta Sleman. The sampling technique was used accidental sampling study which consisted of 72 respondents. The analysis used univariate and bivariate. The results showed that most respondents aged 20-35 (72.2%), senior high school education (47.2%) and work as a housewife (IRT) (38.9%). Most respondents have good knowledge about HIV/AIDS were 50 respondents (69.4%). Most respondents perform checks PITC were 71 respondents (98.6%). There was no relationship between knowledge level of pregnant women about HIV/AIDS and Behaviour of PITC (p-value=0.243&gt;0.005). In Conclusion, There was no relationship between knowledge level of pregnant women about HIV/AIDS and Behaviour of PITC in Sleman, Yogyakarta.</p>

ObjectiveTo assess AIDS stigmatising attitudes and behaviours by prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) service providers in primary healthcare centres in Lagos, Nigeria.DesignCross-sectional survey.SettingThirty-eight primary healthcare centres in Lagos, Nigeria.ParticipantsOne hundred and sixty-one PMTCT service providers.Outcome measuresPMTCT service providers’ discriminatory behaviours, opinions and stigmatising attitudes towards persons living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHAs), and nature of the work environment (HIV/AIDS-related policies and infection-control guidelines/supplies).ResultsReported AIDS-related stigmatisation was low: few respondents (4%) reported hearing coworkers talk badly about PLWHAs or observed provision of poor-quality care to PLWHAs (15%). Health workers were not worried about secondary AIDS stigmatisation due to their occupation (86%). Opinions about PLWHAs were generally supportive; providers strongly agreed that women living with HIV should be allowed to have babies if they wished (94%). PMTCT service providers knew that consent was needed prior to HIV testing (86%) and noted that they would get in trouble at work if they discriminated against PLWHAs (83%). A minority reported discriminatory attitudes and behaviours; 39% reported wearing double gloves and 41% used other special infection-control measures when providing services to PLWHAs. Discriminatory behaviours were correlated with negative opinions about PLWHAs (r=0.21, p<0.01), fear of HIV infection (r=0.16, p<0.05) and professional resistance (r=0.32, p<0.001). Those who underwent HIV training had less fear of contagion.ConclusionsThis study documented generally low levels of reported AIDS-related stigmatisation by PMTCT service providers in primary healthcare centres in Lagos. Policies that reduce stigmatisation against PLWHA in the healthcare setting should be supported by the provision of basic resources for infection control. This may reassure healthcare workers of their safety, thus reducing their fear of contagion and professional resistance to care for individuals who are perceived to be at high risk of HIV.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples continue to be pathologised in medical curriculum, leaving graduates feeling unequipped to effectively work cross-culturally. These factors create barriers to culturally safe health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. In this pilot pre-post study, the learning experiences of seven medical students and four medical registrars undertaking clinical placements at an urban Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary healthcare service in 2014 were followed. Through analysis and comparison of pre- and post-placement responses to a paper-based case study of a fictitious Aboriginal patient, four learning principles for medical professionalism were identified: student exposure to nuanced, complex and positive representations of Aboriginal peoples; positive practitioner role modelling; interpersonal skills that build trust and minimise patient–practitioner relational power imbalances; and knowledge, understanding and skills for providing patient-centred, holistic care. Though not exhaustive, these principles can increase the capacity of practitioners to foster culturally safe and optimal health care for Aboriginal peoples. Furthermore, competence and effectiveness in Aboriginal health care is an essential component of medical professionalism.
