We report solutions for one through six components for self-ratings (N = 559) on 449 familiar English personality-descriptive adjectives (see Lee & Ashton, 2008 ). The first unrotated component mainly contrasted desirable with undesirable characteristics. The varimax-rotated two-component solution contained dimensions closely resembling the Social Self-Regulation and Dynamism constructs of Saucier et al. (2014) . The three-component solution contained dimensions closely resembling the Affiliation, Dynamism, and Order constructs of De Raad et al. (2014) . In the four-component solution, an Emotional Stability dimension emerged, absorbing some variance from dimensions of the three-component solution. The five-component solution added an Intellect/Imagination/Unconventionality (Openness) component, and thus resembled the classic Big Five structure (e.g., Goldberg, 1990 ). In the six-component solution, the variance of the Big Five Agreeableness and Emotional Stability components was reorganized, producing components corresponding to HEXACO Agreeableness and to rotated variants of HEXACO Emotionality and Honesty-Humility. Solutions based on peer ratings (N = 303) were generally similar to those based on self-ratings, but showed a much larger first unrotated component.

The article reports reliability and validity of the Conceptions of Mathematics Questionnaires, based on responses of 154 undergraduate mathematics majors from four universities in South Africa. The reliability estimated as internal consistency had a Cronbach alpha of .84. To establish the validity, Principal components analysis with varimax rotation yielded a two-component solution accounting for 44% of variance. The components were interpreted as Fragmented Conceptions and Cohesive Conceptions of mathematics, as in Australia Since the factor solution was comparable to that reported in Australia, this result is a sufficient basis for the use of the questionnaire in South Africa.

The Preschool Behaviour Questionnaire has been widely used in North-America to study social competencies and behavioural problems of preschool children. The 30 item rating scale was created by Behar and Stringfield (1974) as an adaptation of Rutter's (1967) Children's Behaviour Questionnaire intended for elementary school children. In their original study Behar and Stringfield proposed a three-component solution for their data: hostileaggressive, anxious-fearful, hyperactive-distractible. Most studies using the Behar Preschool Behaviour Questionnaire, (B-PBQ) have been using this three-component solution. Fowler and Park (1979), after a study of a "normal" population sample, concluded that a two-component solution (aggressive-hyperactive-distractible, anxious-fearful) was a better approximation to simple structure and more easily interpretable. They also concluded that the two-component solution was stable across sexes, but questioned the stability for "populations differing significantly in socioeconomic or ethnic composition". This study addresses the "simple structure" problem and the "stability of structure" problem for the B-PBQ. Four different samples ranging from N=383 to N=1161 were assessed in francophone schools in Montreal. Results of principal component analyses compared to Behar and Stringfield's data as well as Fowler and Park's data lead to the following conclusions: a two-principal-component solution has a simpler structure and is easier to interpret with reference to Rutter's Children's Behaviour Questionnaire; the two-component solution is stable across sexes, ages, socioeconomic populations and cultures. The Preschool Behaviour Questionnaire paired with the Children's Behaviour Questionnaire should be suitable for longitudinal and cross-cultural studies of social competencies from preschool to junior high school.

This study describes the psychometric characteristics of the 19-item Conceptions of Mathematics Questionnaire for a total of 158 students (86 women and 72 men). The coefficient α of internal consistency reliability was .75. Principal components analysis with varimax rotation indicated a two-component solution could be extracted. The two theoretically meaningful dimensions were fragmented conceptions (α = .80) and cohesive conceptions (α = .80). The former entails seeing mathematics as number rules and formulae to be used to solve problems. Students who hold this conception use rote learning and memorization. In contrast, the latter entails seeing mathematics as a complex logical system for solving complex problems. Students with such a conception approach learning to attain, develop, and apply knowledge.

AbstractObjective:Our aim was to develop and test a brief measure of generativity and ego-integrity that is suitable for use in palliative care settings.Method:Two measures of generativity and ego-integrity were modified and combined to create a new 11-item questionnaire, which was then administered to 143 adults. A principal-component analysis with oblique rotation was performed in order to identify underlying components that can best account for variation in the 11 questionnaire items. Results:The two-component solution was consistent with the items that, on conceptual grounds, were intended to comprise the two constructs assessed by the questionnaire.Significance of Results:Results suggest that the selected 11 items were good representatives of the larger scales from which they were selected, and they are expected to provide a useful means of measuring these concepts near the end of life.

The aim of the present study was to determine the connection between the prominent aspects of the second-career teachers’ professional identity and their imposterism. In addition, in a sample of one hundred and ninety-one second-career teachers, the relationship with some other psychological variables that we thought could be correlates and significant determinants was examined. Statistical analyzes highlight two-component solution for the identity structure (cooperation and students need) and two-component solution for the structure of the imposter phenomenon (true and strategic imposters). No statistically significant prediction and correlation were found between the components of professional identity and the components of imposterism.
