Abstract Context Worldwide, suicide is a leading cause of death in prison. In France, suicide of prisoners accounts for more than 100 deaths per year representing about half of the total deaths in prison. Moreover, suicide rates in French prisons are seven times higher than in the community and are among the highest in Europe. Reducing prison suicide is a public health priority inscribed in a joint action plan of both the Ministries of health and of justice. In order to prevent this tragic loss of life, prison services and health services must collaborate for the monitoring and understanding of the risk factors involved. The aims of an epidemiologic surveillance of prison suicide are to gather information about the medical factors and factors related to prison environment, analyze them and eventually produce recommendations for prevention. Methods After months of consultation between Santé publique France, different administrations and professionals working in prison, a common methodology was set up. As from January 2017, whenever a suicide or suspected death occurs in prison, the Direction of the Prison Administration (DAP) informs Santé publique France, who in turn sends to the medical practitioner in charge of the prison health services a questionnaire including the history before detention: morbidity, addiction, attempted suicide, and during detention: contact with prison health services, diagnosis and final contact prior to death. Each year, the DAP sends to Santé publique France the sociodemographic, administrative, judiciary and prison environmental data of the persons. Results In 2017, data were collected for 106 suicides from 71 prisons: 95% males, 49% remand, 44% murder or sexual assault, median incarceration time 96 days. Questionnaires were returned from prison practitioners for 100 cases (94%): regular contact 83%, prior suicide attempt 23%. Conclusions Feasibility of a prison suicide surveillance is only possible with the implication of both prison and health services. Key messages Reducing death by suicide in prison is a public health priority. Feasibility of a prison suicide surveillance is only possible with the implication of both prison and health services.

NEOLIBERALISM AND INDIVIDUALIZATION IN HEALTH POLICIES IN THE SOUTHERN PERIPHERY OF SÃO PAULO

This article aims to understand the expansion of the public and private health segment for the management of a peripheral territory of the South Zone of the city of São Paulo. This management is based on mediations between the State and users of public health services. In addition to the users interviewed, they participated in the research, social leaders and community social agents of the primary health care program, Family Health Strategy (ESF - Estratégia Saúde da Família). The proposed questions can contribute to identifying and rethinking demand production in social networks of users with access to public and private health services in the region and in the expansion of the social management interface of the health program with private health care in the outskirts of Sao Paulo. The reports show the dynamic relationship between practices, actions and the emergence of the individualization process of the Brazilian social policies.

Keywords: Individualization. English Title: Synthesis, characterization and anti-tumor activity of complex organotin carboxylate The cancer problem is a global public health concern. It has long been underestimated by health structures in Africa because of the pressure exerted by communicable and deficient diseases on health services. Its negative influence can however be reduced thanks to the cancer control program put in place. This program requires the mobilization of human, material, intellectual resources, health services, associations of cancer patient. In order to remedy this public health problem, an organotin carboxylic complex of formula [(Bu)2Sn]4L1)2O3(Br)2] has been synthesized. The molecule obtained was characterized by elementary, spectroscopic analysis methods (1 H NMR and FT-IR) and by the X-ray diffraction technique. It was found that this molecule has a Sn4O2Br2 unit fragment whose interaction Sn…O leads to the formation of a supramolecular chain. Its anti-tumor activity on the various cells has presented significant results. Keywords: Synthesis, organotin carboxylic complex, characterization, supramolecular chain, anti-tumor.

Anal cancer was until recently regarded as a rare cancer of little consequence. The articles in this special edition of Sexual Health clearly demonstrate that anal cancer is increasing in incidence and, in some populations, it has become an urgent public health priority. In this summary paper, we will review the data presented in this issue and elsewhere on the magnitude of the issue, the means of prevention and treatment, and suggest a way forward.
