Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to make an effort in identifying and exploring the factors which may affect the success of ERP implementation in Indian retail sector. This paper also analyses the between the factors and their impact on the successful implementation of ERP using the structured equation modeling (SEM) approach. “Organizational,” “Technological,” “People” and “Project Management” are the examined factors. Design/methodology/approach – A theoretical model is created that explains the factors which may affect the success of ERP implementation. Hypotheses were also developed to evaluate the interrelationship between affecting factors and success of ERP implementation. Empirical data is collected through survey questionnaire from practitioner like project sponsors, project managers, implementation consultants and team members who are involved in ERP implementation in retail sector to test the theoretical model. Findings – Using SEM, it is found that 62.7 percent of the variations of ERP implementation success can be explained with the help of the model suggested in the research study. The finding also confirms that there is significant positive interrelationship between “Organizational,” “Technological,” “People,” “Project Management” and success of ERP implementation in Indian retail sector. Research limitations/implications – The research is subject to the normal limitations of survey research. The study is using perceptual data provided by project sponsors, project managers, implementation consultants and team members who are involved in ERP implementation in retail sector, which may not provide clear measures of performance. However, this can be overcome using multiple methods to collect data in future studies. Practical implications – Findings from this paper can provide greater understanding in the area of ERP implementation. This study will provide valuable insights to researchers, practicing managers and those who are planning to implement ERP in retail sector. Originality/value – The study integrates the affecting factor with success of ERP implementation, i.e. “Organizational,” “Technological,” “People” and “Project Management” are the key drivers for the effectiveness and success of ERP implementation in Indian retail sector. Very few studies have been performed to investigate and understand this issue. Therefore, the research can make a useful contribution.

Additionally, the study also addresses the relationship between factors that influence ERP implementation and the success of ERP implementation empirically. Strategic, Technological, People and Project management are the examined factors. Findings – The results of the study has empirically verified that Strategic, Technological, People and Project management factors are positively influencing ERP implementation success. All four hypotheses were supported by results of the study. Practical implications – This study will provide valuable insights to researchers, practicing managers and those who are planning to implement ERP in retail organization. Originality/value – Very few empirical studies have been performed to investigate the influencing factor of ERP implementation and types of relationships between factors that influence ERP implementation and the success of ERP implementation in Indian retail sector. This study examines how Strategic, Technological, People, and Project management factors are influencing ERP implementation success in retail sector of India. Therefore, the research can make a useful contribution.

The aim of this study is to investigate Critical Success Factors (CSFs) for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Implementation in Automobile Ancillary Industries (AAIs). Therefore. An in-depth and systematic literature review is done to find out the existing reviews of CSFs. Based on the review, several Discussions, Interviews and Benchmarking with experienced ERP consultants and Project management team with ERP implementations in AAIs. Thus, we showed that all factors found in the literature also affected the success of ERP projects in AAIs. CSFs Training and development, Top Management Support and commitment and Project Management, Advanced Hardware and Software and Change Management will optimize the business Process and improve the business performance and make success of the ERP Implementation. Friedman’s ranking analysis and correlation analysis were applied and detailed analysis were submitted on this study However, within those projects, Advanced Hardware and Software gained much more importance compared to the factors that most influence the success of ERP Implementation in AAIs, factors like Training and Development and Top Management Support and Commitment were even more important than Change Management and which were the most important factors in Success of the ERP Projects. This practical guidance will be helpful for the company owners, senior executives, managers and ERP consultants to be more proactive, efficient and better prepared for making Successful implementation of ERP with their limited resources especially in AAIs.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is an advanced manufacturing system that enables the integration of transactions-oriented data and business functions throughout an enterprise. ERP system holds the potential of greatly enhancing organizational performance and establishing competitive advantage. ERP project team can reduce their implementation costs by having a well thought out ERP implementation process. This research examines the ERP implementation process from the project management based perspective. The theoretical framework is developed to specify the ERP implementation process, which is categorized into five phases in project life cycle: initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing. The research adopts the iterative triangulation as a methodology to establish this study, and one large company in Iran has been chosen by researchers to examine the proposed framework.

Information technology improvement is one of drivers that changes in computer-based accounting information system called Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System. The advantages of ERP system leads companies decide to eventually implement the system. The objective of this study is to comprehend the impacts of some variables such as end-user role, procedure, data, hardware and project management to the success of ERP implementation, both partially and simultantly.This research implements descriptive analysis method where thedata are collected by questionare on a survey. Population is a company of oil-palm industry located in Pekanbaru - Riau which implements ERP system for its operational. Data are proccessed using SPSS version 17.00 and hypothesis testing is performed using statistic tests, which are validation test, reliability test and double regression test. The result and discussion of this study in general shows that end-user role, procedure, data, hardware and project management variables have positive correlation and influence to the success of ERP implementation, both partially and simultantly.
