Music is not only an important subject in general education, but it particularly serves gifted students who face various psychological issues not encountered by their ‘normal’ peers. Nonetheless, it is found that not all schools are implementing proper music lessons due to the focus on STEM subjects. This paper provides an overview of developing music enrichment activities as an approach to meet gifted students’ needs. Differentiated instruction was used as the main approach to developing a comprehensive music enrichment activity, namely ‘Music in Film’, in which gifted students integrated music and computer skills in completing a given task. Furthermore, a research survey was conducted involving 36 gifted students. The MUSIC Inventory was used to measure their motivation and engagement towards the activity to measure the methods. Five domains—empowerment, usefulness, success, interest and caring—were measured on a 6-point Likert scale. Results revealed that all five domains were rated from moderate to high by the gifted students with a minimum 4.5 mean. Although it can be concluded that this enrichment activity is apt and effective for implementation in gifted education, future studies could look at participants with different backgrounds and demographics. It is hoped that this paper will contribute to designing more enrichment activities with a differentiated instruction approach as gifted students possess high potential in various talents that need to be nurtured.

Abstract. The purpose of this study is to produce quality student activity sheets. To achieve this, this research uses development research. The development model used in this study is a 4-D development model consisting of the Define, Design, Development and Disseminate stages. The subject of this research is the tenth grade students of SMK 1 Percut Sei Tuan Deli Serdang Regency and the object of this research is the mathematics student activity sheet of trigonometry material using the Differentiated Instruction (DI) approach. Developed in this study is the student activity sheet (LAS). The results of the study show that: (1) the level of mastery learning in classical is 83.33%; (2) the level of student activity during the learning process takes place on the ideal time tolerance criteria; (3) the level of the teacher's ability to manage learning is good, because the average has reached the minimum criteria; (4) student responses to the components of the device and the learning process are positive; (5) Mathematical problem solving abilities of students have increased with an average value of 1.457 at pretest and 3.103 in postes with an average increase (N Gain) included in the medium category with an average of 0.521. The researcher suggested that the Differentiated Instruction approach be an alternative for teachers to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities. Keywords: Student Activity Sheet, Differentiated Instruction Approach, mathematical problem solving ability

This study aimed to investigate the effect of using the differentiated instruction approach while teaching the Arabic Language for acquiring some linguistic structures and developing the linguistic performance of the primary-stage students. The materials and instruments of study consisted of student worksheets, teacher's guide, linguistic structure test, and the linguistic performance test. The participants in the research groups were selected, then, the experiment of study and the pre-post testing of study instruments were implemented. Data was statistically treated using SPSS.18 program. The findings of study revealed that there were statistically differences between the mean scores of the experimental and the control groups at level 0.5 in the linguistic structures test favoring the experimental group. Moreover, there were significat differences between the mean scores of the experimental and the control groups at level 0.5 in the linguistic performance test favoring the experimental group. A correlated relation has been proved between linguistic structure acquisition and the development of linguistic performance the by post-testing of the participants of experimental group.

This research aims to develop the materials of reading by conducting need analysis in order to meet the needs of business administration students. The method of research was a research and development (R&D) by Borg and Gall which are modified in to three main cycles, namely: evaluation and needs assessment, materials development, and materials validation. The study found that the existing materials of reading II are not match with the needs analysis result. Thus, the researcher added 13 more basic competencies of the syllabus and materials of reading related to the learners needs and learning needs.
