Using the tightly focused visible light (wavelength λ=488nm) illuminating, the ferroelectric domain patterns of the undoped lithium niobate crystal have been demonstrated. The influence of the visible light intensity on the domain nucleation field was investigated. The reduction of nucleation field decreases exponentially with increasing incident irradiation intensity. Once a domain is nucleated it can be dictated by the far-field light diffraction patterns. An assumption is proposed that the reduction of nucleation field is directly related to the defects mobility and structure of the crystals.

SO2 is one of the most important atmosphere pollutants which can be figured out by measuring the attenuation of the visible light intensity on the characteristic wavelength. But the visible light intensity is also attenuated by the monodispersion soot particles because of the particles absorption and scattering. The interference of the monodispersion particles is discussed in the paper. Simulation results show that the impact parameters on the SO2 concentration accuracy include the received scattering angle range, particle size and concentration. According to the study SO2 concentration measurement accuracy can be improved

We synthesized and characterized Eu and Tb doped NaGdF4 nanophosphors which generate visible light when excited by a focused X-ray beam. High resolution images were acquired through tissue by measuring light intensity vs. X-ray beam position.

Photoreactivation of microorganisms following UV disinfection is one of the research topics of interest in assessing the performance of UV disinfection, because there is little consensus on how the visible light intensity relates to the photoreactivation rate and the maximum survival in wastewater treatment processes. Apparent photoreactivation by a fluorescent lamp was observed in case of indicator bacteria (heterotrophic bacteria, coliform bacteria, fecal coliforms) in raw sewage, but not E. coli B and E. coli K12 A/λ(F+). Inactivation of fecal coliform was observed simultaneously during photoreactivation process by sunlight. Dose rate at 360 nm wave length as visible light intensity showed that it was a useful indicator for assessing the photoreactivation rate and the maximum survival when photoreactivation took place by both fluorescent lamp and sunlight. The model for photoreactivation was developed. The photoreactivation rate increased with increasing visible light intensity at 360 nm. However, the maximum survival value may not be affected by visible light intensity.

Inorganic-organic hybrid perovskite (ABX3, A = organic cation, B = metal ion, X = halogen anion) combines the advantages of inorganic and organic materials. However, the properties and performance of mixed-halide CH3NH3PbBr2.5Cl0.5 (MAPbBr2.5Cl0.5) are still poorly understood. In this study, we synthetized MAPbBr2.5Cl0.5 single crystal and studied its structure, optical, thermal stability properties and optoelectronics applications for photodetector device. Compared with those of MAPbCl3, the interplanar distance of (100) crystal plane for MAPbBr2.5Cl0.5 becomes larger and the absorption spectrum of MAPbBr2.5Cl0.5 is extended to the visible region. The band gap of the MAPbBr2.5Cl0.5 single crystal is 2.28 eV. We find the device based on MAPbBr2.5Cl0.5 has high selectivity from 369 to 564 nm. The maximum ▴J (Jon– Joff) under 3.0 V bias voltage is about 1.2 µAcmr-2 at 454 nm visible light with 1 W mr-2 light intensity (1/1000 of the standard sunlight intensity), which proves the device has a high sensitivity. The linear relationship is established between the value of ▴J and light intensity and bias voltage. The fast current intensity transients (Fit) shows that the disappearance period of photocurrent density is 0.3 ms, which indicates the device is rapidly responsive photodetector. The highest value (1.7%) of external quantum efficiency (EQE) and the highest value of detectivities (D) both appear at 480 nm visible light at 4.0 V bias voltage when the irradiation power is 30 W m-2. Therefore, this simple and low-cost photoresponsive device is promising for industrial production of photodetector and photocatalysts device in the future.
