Background: The declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic triggered a global inquiry into the transmission, mortality, risk factors, and management of the disease. Recently, however, attention has shifted toward its long-term consequences. There is a need for a better understanding of the predictors and symptoms of post-COVID syndrome, to ensure appropriate care for patients recovering from COVID-19 beyond the acute phase. Methods: We searched PubMed, Google Scholar, Cochrane databases, and available data in the PROSPERO databases. We also explored the reference lists of included articles and any systematic reviews identified therein. We searched the keywords "Post Covid", "Post COVID syndrome", "Post- Covid" and "PostCOVID", until July 2021. Results: Of 8167 articles, 13 were included. The syndrome affects several systems with variable prevalence. Fatigue and sleep disturbance is the most common symptom of acute post-COVID syndrome, observed in more than two-thirds of patients, while a reduction in quality of life and general health status was noted in up to 69%. Furthermore, a reduced aerobic and diffusion capacity was seen in 38% of patients up to one month after presumed recovery from infection. Radiologically, in up to 52% of patients, a ground-glass opacity (GGO) was noted beyond three months post-infection. The incidence of new psychiatric illness increased from as early as 14 days after infection and up to three or six months. Hearing impairment or loss, whether sensorineural or conductive, was noted in up to 8.3% of patients, and tinnitus was seen in up to 4.2%. Conclusion: Overall, given the variability in the manifestation of post-COVID syndrome, a multidisciplinary team is required to better serve these patients. We therefore urge the establishment of such teams, encompassing internal medicine, pulmonology, cardiology, and neurocognitive services.

Since last September, Indonesia has been shocked by the Squid Game series on Netflix, which has managed to occupy the number one favorite series worldwide. In this series, there are life problems for every character, in which they fight for each other's position without caring about the lives of each other in getting prizes. Researchers want to know how people understand the value of players’ life in the Squid Game series and its implications for everyday life. Respondents are at least 18 years old and have watched all the Squid Game series episodes. Processing research data using quantitative methods require respondents to fill out four essay questions in the form and two multiple choices. We also collect data using qualitative methods, which is interviewing three respondents. The results of the three respondents we interviewed, they all agreed that the value of life in the Squid Game series could be implied in daily life. However, people who participated in this survey were general respondents with no specific requirements. The researcher suggests that further research can use a more detailed scope of respondents, such as the academic community of Airlangga University, to get more in-depth answers. This study examines the implications of axiological values and people's views on the Squid Game series, which has received much public attention. Researchers have limited research and reference lists in this study.

Fear is a simple basic emotion experienced by every single being. It is a fundamental survival mechanism that indicates humans to respond in danger with a ght or ight response in order to keep us safe. Every human body reacts in a different way when it encounters fear. This paper examines the reasons for the growth and prevalence of fear in relation to the mind and the role of psychological intervention in dealing with it. Literature search was done on Google scholar which included the use of keywords ‘fear’, ‘phobias’, ‘psychological intervention’ or ‘emotions. Reference lists having similar titles were also taken into consideration. Available literature search shows that hormones have a vital role in functioning of fear and phobias. Everyone has a different way of dealing with it. An abnormality in processing of fear could potentially lead to psychiatric disorders. Psychology based therapy is an effective way of dealing with it. Fear being an exaggerated emotion needs a plan that works towards the development of its belief. Psychological intervention involving Cognitive behavioural therapy, Rational emotive behaviour therapy, Systematic desensitization and many others have been proved to overcome fears and phobias.

AbstractThis paper introduces the concept of standard-relevant publications, complementary to standard-essential patents and framed by the concept of knowledge utilization. By analyzing the reference lists of the around 20,000 standards released by ISO, authors of scientific papers cited in standards who are working at German institutions were identified. The institutions include universities, independent research societies, ministerial research institutes and companies. Almost thirty interviews were conducted with the most-cited of these authors. The interviews addressed the processes by which scientific publications come to be referenced in standards, and the motivations, the barriers and the effects of this. The findings demonstrate opportunities for and challenges to establishing standard-relevant publications as a new performance indicator for researchers, funding agencies, standard-setting organizations and ultimately regulators.

Abstract Objectives To quantify the association between income and antibiotic misuse including unprescribed use, storage of antibiotics and non-adherence. Methods We identified pertinent studies through database search, and manual examination of reference lists of selected articles and review reports. We performed a dose–response meta-analysis of income, both continuous and categorical, in relation to antibiotic misuse. Summary odds ratios (ORs) and their 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were estimated under a random-effects random effects model. Results Fifty-seven studies from 22 countries of different economic class were included. Overall, the data are in agreement with a flat linear association between income standardized to socio-economic indicators and antibiotic misuse (OR per 1 unit increment = 1.00, p-value = 0.954, p-value non-linearity = 0.429). Data were compatible with no association between medium and high income with general antibiotic misuse (OR 1.04; 95% CI 0.89, 1.20 and OR 1.03; 95% CI 0.82, 1.29). Medium income was associated with 19% higher odds of antibiotic storage (OR 1.19; 95% CI 1.07, 1.32) and 18% higher odds of any aspect of antibiotic misuse in African studies (OR 1.18; 95% CI 1.00, 1.39). High income was associated with 51% lower odds of non-adherence to antibiotic treatment (OR 0.49; 95% CI 0.34, 0.60). High income was also associated with 11% higher odds of any antibiotic misuse in upper-middle wealth countries (OR 1.11; 95% CI 1.00, 1.22). Conclusions The association between income and antibiotic misuse varies by type of misuse and country wellness. Understanding the socioeconomic properties of antibiotic misuse should prove useful in developing related intervention programs and health policies.

The construction industry has received long standing criticism over its fragmented approach to supply chain management, adversarial relationships, and ongoing defects. Platform thinking has been observed in other industries as a phenomenon that offers reinvention from the traditional perspectives on the supply chain. In this study, a scoping review of platform thinking is presented. A database search of 656 papers across 15 journals, along with 3 sources from a Google search and 12 sources from a manual review of the reference lists were reviewed in relation to platform thinking in construction. While many variants of platforms exist, the scoping review demonstrates a focus on product platforms that has historical precedents. This paper highlights the benefits of platform thinking whilst linking to the lessons of the past. This provides a valuable insight for future implications of platform thinking. This paper contributes to the limited literature on platform thinking in the construction industry by linking historical examples with present and potential future investigation.

Abstract Background and Study Aims Deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the globus pallidus internus (GPi) is a highly effective therapy for primary generalized and focal dystonias, but therapeutic success is compromised by a nonresponder rate of up to 20%. Variability in electrode placement and in tissue stimulated inside the GPi may explain in part different outcomes among patients. Refinement of the target within the pallidal area could be helpful for surgery planning and clinical outcomes. The objective of this study was to discuss current and potential methodological (somatotopy, neuroimaging, and neurophysiology) aspects that might assist neurosurgical targeting of the GPi, aiming to treat generalized or focal dystonia. Methods We selected published studies by searching electronic databases and scanning the reference lists for articles that examined the anatomical and electrophysiologic aspects of the GPi in patients with idiopathic/inherited dystonia who underwent functional neurosurgical procedures. Results The sensorimotor sector of the GPi was the best target to treat dystonic symptoms, and was localized at its lateral posteroventral portion. The effective volume of tissue activated (VTA) to treat dystonia had a mean volume of 153 mm3 in the posterior GPi area. Initial tractography studies evaluated the close relation between the electrode localization and pallidothalamic tract to control dystonic symptoms.Regarding the somatotopy, the more ventral, lateral, and posterior areas of the GPi are associated with orofacial and cervical representation. In contrast, the more dorsal, medial, and anterior areas are associated with the lower limbs; between those areas, there is the representation of the upper limb. Excessive pallidal synchronization has a peak at the theta band of 3 to 8 Hz, which might be responsible for generating dystonic symptoms. Conclusions Somatotopy assessment of posteroventral GPi contributes to target-specific GPi sectors related to segmental body symptoms. Tractography delineates GPi output pathways that might guide electrode implants, and electrophysiology might assist in pointing out areas of excessive theta synchronization. Finally, the identification of oscillatory electrophysiologic features that correlate with symptoms might enable closed-loop approaches in the future.

Objective: To investigate the definitions of spirituality in the healthcare field, identifying its main dimensions and proposing a framework that operationalizes the understanding of this concept. Methods: This is a systematic review following the PRISMA guideline (PROSPERO: CRD42021262091), searching for spirituality definitions published in scientific journals. Searches were carried out in PubMed (all articles listed up to October 2020) and in the reference lists of the articles found in the database, followed by selection under specific eligibility criteria. Results: From a total of 493 articles, 166 were included in the final analysis, showing that there is a large body of scientific literature proposing and analyzing spirituality definitions. In these articles, 24 spirituality dimensions were found, most commonly related to the connectedness and meaning of life. Spirituality was presented as a human and individual aspect. These findings led us to construct a framework that represents spirituality as a quantifiable construct. Conclusions: Understanding spirituality is an important aspect for healthcare research and clinical practice. This proposed framework may help to better understand the complexity of this topic, where advances are desirable, given the relevance it has acquired for integral health care.

Sleep problems commonly occur in adolescents with an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis (ASD). However, the knowledge of how sleep problems affect those adolescents’ lives is fragmentised. This review focuses on the question: What is the relationship between sleep and daytime functioning in adolescents with ASD. An electronic database (PsycINFO, Cochrane, ERIC, PubMed, WOS) and hand search (INSAR congress archive and included studies reference lists) was performed in September 2020 resulting in 2561 studies. Studies were included if they contained autistic participants aged between 10 and 19 without intellectual disability, related sleep to daytime functioning, were available in English, and used original data. Nine studies were included (Nparticipants = 674). The most prominent finding was the association of all sleep parameters with internalizing problems. Furthermore, most significant associations with daytime functioning were found for sleep problems in general and for sleep efficiency. The results provide input for tailored sleep interventions. However, more research is needed to get a clearer picture of the relationship between specific sleep parameters and daytime functioning to ensure that this knowledge will provide better input for sleep interventions. It is important to focus on limited age ranges, larger samples sizes, multiple measurement methods, and longitudinal approaches.
