.In recent years, the development of new energy has become a bottleneck. As a high-quality demand side response resource that can be flexibly dispatched, thermal load can be used to promote the consumption and utilization of new energy. Based on the theory of peak valley electricity price and power demand response mechanism, this paper designs a demand response model of thermal price type, which uses time-sharing heat price to guide users to use heat orderly on the heating side. The simulation results show that the reasonable setting of heat price and satisfaction constraints of different heating modes can effectively change the heating mode of the user side and alleviate the contradiction between the supply and demand of thermal power, reduce the heating cost and realize the economic operation of the system.

Energetic resources represent one of the most important factors in the process of consolidation of competitive market economy, having also a very important role in assuring the functionality of the economic system components. The decline of oil and gas production imposes the necessity to identify and implement new energy sources. Another reason to identify new energy sources is the pollution that is generated by the fossil fuel burn. The chapter presents a methodology about the solar energy potential evaluation for Romania. As a result of the tax incentives that are offered to investors in renewable energy, many projects were developed in Romania in the recent years, especially about wind and solar energy. But many projects have been done without a realistic assessment of potential wind or solar energy, as the consulting firms had presented an exaggerated image of the financial potential of these investments.

The electrical grid has been changing in the last decade due to the presence of renewables, distributed generation, storage systems, microgrids, and electric vehicles. The introduction of new legislation and actors in the smart grid’s system opens new challenges for the activities of companies, and for the development of new energy management systems, models, and methods. A new optimization-based bi-level architecture is proposed for an aggregator of consumers in the balancing market, in which incentives for local users (i.e., microgrids, buildings) are considered, as well as flexibility and a fair assignment in reducing the overall load. At the lower level, consumers try to follow the aggregator’s reference values and perform demand response programs to contain their costs and satisfy demands. The approach is applied to a real case study.

The demand for new energy sources is growing and awakening interest in the use of forest residues. Charcoal was prepared at carbonization temperatures of 500 ºC, 600 °C and 700 °C in order to evaluate the potential use of Pinus sp needles for energy. The anatomical and chemical characteristics of the needles and the charcoal produced were also evaluated. The needles were found to have ash content of 2.32% and gross calorific value of 20.30 MJ/kg. The calorific value increased by 45%, reaching 29.64 MJ/kg, after carbonization carried out at 600 ºC. This value is higher than that for charcoal made from eucalyptus (19.25 MJ/kg) and even coconut husks (23.55 MJ/kg), showing the high energy potential of these needles.

ABSTRAKTerbatasnya akses dan kebutuhan masyarakat dari penggunaan energi listrik sebagai penerangan jalan pada Desa Tirtasari, Karawang. Maka dirasa perlu ikut berkontribusi dalam pengabdian bidang ilmu dan teknologi. Hal ini untuk memanfaatkan energi baru terbarukan yang ekonomis dengan potensi energi alam sekitar. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari kegiatan ini merancang alat teknologi berbasis energi turbin kinetik dan energi surya untuk menyelesaikan program ini. Pemanfaatan potensi energi yang dihasilkan dari aliran sungai dapat menghasilkan energi kinetik dari putaran turbin kinetik. Putaran yang dihasilkan dari turbin kinetik menghasilkan energi mekanik ke generator. Sehingga mampu membangkitkan energi listrik, sedangkan arus yang dihasilkan dari solar panel sebagai penggantinya. Maka metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini berupa pelatihan dan pendampingan pembuatan turbin. Hasil akhir dari kegiatan ini masyarakat dapat mengimplementasikannya secara langsung. Jika sewaktu-waktu aliran sungai mengecil, sehingga tidak mampu memutar turbin kinetik dan generator. Energi yang dihasilkan dari keduanya akan disimpan pada accu. Arus DC (direct current) yang disimpan pada accu akan di konverter menjadi arus AC (alternating current). Maka untuk mendapatkan listrik dengan kapasitas daya maksimum 150 Watt 220V. Adapun luaran dari pengabdian ini adalah terciptanya kemandirian energi dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Kata kunci: energi listrik; turbin kinetik; direct current; alternating current. ABSTRACTThe limited access and needs of the community from the use of electrical energy as a road lighting in Tirtasari Village, Karawang. Therefore, the purpose of this activity designed energy-based technology tools kinetic turbine and solar energy to complete this program. The use of energy potential generated from the river flow can produce kinetic energy from the round of kinetic turbines. Rounds produced from kinetic turbines produce mechanical energy to generators. So that it can generate electrical energy, while the current generated from solar panel as a replacement. Then the method of implementation used in this activity is in the form of training and assistance for making turbines. The final result of this activity community can implement it directly. If at any time the river flow is reduced, so it is unable to play kinetic turbines and generators. The energy produced from both will be stored in Accu. The DC (Direct Current) stored on the batteries will be converter into AC (Alternating Current). So to get electricity with a maximum power capacity of 150 watts 220V.
