In this article, a special type of microcontroller named as Arduino Nano 3.0 (ATMega 328) is used for the operation of an automatic irriga-tion system which is powered by solar energy. Here, the resistivity of soil is measured with the use of electrode (resistivity sensor). Through this type of irrigation system the farmer can use automatic ‘ON’ and ‘OFF’ system for water pump for irrigation. A complete hardware implementation is also presented in this paper.

At this present time increasing electrical energy requirements, and therefore found the latest energy is solar energy. Solar energy can be harnessed as a potential alternative energy source because the energy is very large as well as environmentally friendly. Tool that can be used to convert sunlight directly into electricity is called photovoltaic. On the control panel to control the water pump on the motor control circuit design life turns automatically and manually. To control the timing of the displacement of the pump used to pump two timers. On the control panel of diesel propulsion sell used four times the displacement step. Switching time between steps in the set by a timer. The control panel uses the same circuit with the motor circuit alternating rounds.

This paper describes about using solar energy to create intelligent highways. Smart highway and smart road are terms for a number of different proposals to incorporate technologies into roads for better future. Solar median strip uses solar panels, photovoltaic effect, LEDs and microprocessor chips with circuitry boards. Solar panels are arranged on median strip of the road. Energy from these solar panels is used to operate the street lights, water pump for nearby farms and additional energy can be stored and utilized by nearby communities by using an inverter. Solar median strip will pay for itself through generation of electricity. The implementation of this technology will create the clean energy boom. By this way we can use solar energy efficiently. We can also create smart roads for better future without causing damage to environment by using renewable source.

In the condition that conventional energy sources are depleted and greatly pollute environment, solar energy as a new energy type, has some advantages which conventional energy sources are not compared with, it has received more and more applications. In this paper, SCM is the control center of the system, the solar energy is convert into electricity stored in battery, and then battery powers to the water pump to ensure the normal operation of the water pump.

With the global environmental deterioration and energy crisis, for its pollution-free, noise-free, mobile simple, would not subject to geographical restrictions such as the unique advantages, solar energy will replace the tradition non-renewable energy. solar water pump system is a photo-mechanic-electronic integration system that is rapidly developed in recent years, which uses electricity from solar cells, through the controller, control the water pump, finally realize the pump operation. in this paper, the research significance, present situation,development direction and the advantages of solar energy will be introduced ,and water pump system use the single chip processor as the core, ultimately to achieve the use of solar energy and complete pumping function. And on the basis of this design, through the system extension and upgrading, with corresponding implementation agencies, can also be applied to industry.

Solar energy creates a new lifestyle for mankind, and takes society and human into an era of energy conservation to reduce pollution. It is radiant light and heat from the sun harnessed using a range of ever-evolving technologies such as photovoltaic panel. In this research it is aimed to design and implement PV solar energy home system for electrification in the Kuwaiti dessert during eco-tourism in winter. Eco-tourism is a cultural and unavoidable event in Arab countries with no exception of Kuwait. Eco-tourism is done in remote dessert where urban electricity connections are not possible. As people accustomed in using electrical appliances such as television, room heater, water heater, water pump, they cannot live in the dessert without these amenities. As the weather of Kuwait is sunny and hot during days and cool at night, solar panel based off-grid power cell can be an alternative for electrification of dessert home. This research will address several critical issues which are appropriate design of PV solar system, estimation of power generation and implementation as solar home system.

The primary aim of this project is to develop and atomize the solar farmers pump (water pump) considering the power supply, direct current (DC), Alternating current (AC), inverter frequency, a well, water level in the well, submersible monoblock pump. Here we introduce an advanced technique with GSM module. The solar pumps which work by utilizing the energy from the SOLAR ARRAYS and the power from the PV are stored in a battery. The power from the battery is inverted and given to the pump for irrigation. This pump is also controlled by the GSM module. The use of GSM mode is to start and stop working of pumps using mobile phone; the water level monitoring is also done by the GSM mode which this also provides the message for each hour. This is done with the embedded C in PIC16F877A microcontroller. The main advantage of this project is optimizing the power and also saving government’s free subsidiary electricity (22% of total power production in India). This proves an efficient and economy way of irrigation and this will automate the agriculture sector.
