Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic interstitial lung disease characterised by a progressive and irreversible decline in lung function, which is associated with poor long-term survival. The pathogenesis of IPF is incompletely understood. An accumulating body of evidence, obtained over the past three decades, suggests that occupational and environmental exposures may play a role in the development of IPF. This narrative literature review aims to summarise current understanding and the areas of ongoing research into the role of occupational and environmental exposures in the pathogenesis of IPF.

INTRODUCTION: Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease that arises from an interaction of local dysbiosis in the subgingival biofilm and the host immune response. The disease triggers an inflammatory process that can cause periodontal tissue breakdown. In addition, the production of inflammatory mediators can negatively affect other areas of the body and influence the development and/or severity of associated disorders, including asthma, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. OBJECTIVE: Conduct a literature review to comprehensively investigate the role of ST2 and IL-33 and the contribution of the IL-33 / ST2 axis in the pathogenesis of periodontitis. METHODS: It is a narrative literature review, which used the databases Pubmed and Academic Google a total of 114 results. RESULTS: A range of immunological markers has been shown to be relevant in the immunopathogenesis of periodontitis, cytokines of the interleukin 1 (IL-1) family, such as IL-1β and IL-33. IL-33, through its ST2 receptor, appears to be involved in the development of periodontitis, acting as a molecule that signals tissue damage from infection and also emits an endogenous signal that activates the immune response and / or worsens bone resorption by activating osteoclastogenesis, either through increases in RANK-L and reduced OPG, or regardless of that pathway. CONCLUSION: The diversity of information contained in the methodologies of these studies hampers attempts to standardize and make correlations between published data, in this sense, the IL-33 / ST2 axis remains a relevant topic in investigations focused on the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease.

Tendinopathies are very common in general population and a huge number of tendon-related procedures take place annually worldwide, with significant socio-economic repercussions. Numerous treatment options are commonly used for tendon disorders. Besides pharmacological and physical therapy, nutrition could represent an additional tool for preventing and treating this complex pathology that deserve a multidisciplinary approach. In recent years, nutraceutical products are growing up in popularity since these seem to favor the prevention and the healing processes of tendon injuries. This narrative literature review aims to summarize current understanding and the areas of ongoing research about the management of tendinopathies with the help of oral supplementation.

The focus on cryptocurrencies in the finance and banking sectors is gaining momentum. In this paper, we investigate the role of cryptocurrencies in modern finance. We apply a narrative literature review method to synthesize prior research and draw insights into the opportunities and challenges of leveraging cryptocurrencies. The results indicate that cryptocurrencies offer businesses and individuals’ lower transaction costs, higher efficiencies, increased security and privacy, meaningful diversification benefits, alternative financing solutions, and financial inclusion.Challenges exist related to the integration of cryptocurrencies in modern finance. These include the lack of regulatory standards, the risk of criminal activity, high energy and environmental costs, regulatory bans and usage restrictions, security and privacy concerns, and the high volatility of cryptocurrencies. The current review is useful for scholars and managers, including those seeking to have a more balanced understanding of these emerging financial instruments.JEL Classification: E42, F30, F65, G21, G23How to Cite:Rejeb, A., Rejeb, K., & Keogh, J. The aim of this paper was to summarize the existing literature regarding postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) and its physiological management (i.e., skin-to-skin contact and breastfeeding). The background surrounding PPH and the role of skin-to-skin contact (SSC) and breastfeeding (BF) in PPH are identified, and these interventions are supported as a crucial means of preventing or minimizing the incidence of PPH. Despite its importance, to the best of my knowledge, an evaluation of this relationship has not yet been undertaken. The narrative literature review approach was used to summarize topic related researches. The search included three databases: CINAHL, PubMed, and Google Scholar. All articles related to the role of SSC and BF in PPH were chosen from the different databases. The findings demonstrate that SSC and BF are cost-effective methods that could be considered practices for the prevention of PPH. Immediate Skin-to-skin contact (SSC) and breastfeeding (BF) are central mediators of the psychophysiological process during the first hour after delivery (the third and fourth stages of labor).
