AbstractObjectivesThis research work exclusively aims to develop a novel heart disease prediction framework including three major phases, namely proposed feature extraction, dimensionality reduction, and proposed ensemble-based classification.MethodsAs the novelty, the training of NN is carried out by a new enhanced optimization algorithm referred to as Sea Lion with Canberra Distance (S-CDF) via tuning the optimal weights. The improved S-CDF algorithm is the extended version of the existing “Sea Lion Optimization (SLnO)”. Initially, the statistical and higher-order statistical features are extracted including central tendency, degree of dispersion, and qualitative variation, respectively. However, in this scenario, the “curse of dimensionality” seems to be the greatest issue, such that there is a necessity of dimensionality reduction in the extracted features. Hence, the principal component analysis (PCA)-based feature reduction approach is deployed here. Finally, the dimensional concentrated features are fed as the input to the proposed ensemble technique with “Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN)” with optimized Neural Network (NN) as the final classifier.ResultsAn elaborative analyses as well as discussion have been provided by concerning the parameters, like evaluation metrics, year of publication, accuracy, implementation tool, and utilized datasets obtained by various techniques.ConclusionsFrom the experiment outcomes, it is proved that the accuracy of the proposed work with the proposed feature set is 5, 42.85, and 10% superior to the performance with other feature sets like central tendency + dispersion feature, central tendency qualitative variation, and dispersion qualitative variation, respectively.ResultsFinally, the comparative evaluation shows that the presented work is appropriate for heart disease prediction as it has high accuracy than the traditional works.

Recently it is advocated that high intensity and low energy (Eν~2 GeV ) neutrino beams should be built to probe the (13) mixing angle ϕ to a level of a few parts in 104. Experiments using such beams will have better signal-to-background ratio in searches for νμ→νe oscillations. We propose that such experiments can also determine the sign of Δ31 even if the beam consists of neutrinos only. By measuring the νμ→νe transitions in two different energy ranges, the effects due to propagation of neutrinos through earth's crust can be isolated and the sign of Δ31 can be determined. If the sensitivity of an experiment to ϕ is ε, then the same experiment is automatically sensitive to matter effects and the sign of Δ31 for values of ϕ≥2ε.

This article highlights consumers’ preference for economic (versus social) resources in individualist (versus collectivist) cultures and demonstrates the multifaceted effects of culture on consumer responses to service failures. A cross-cultural study involving American and Chinese participants in the setting of a computer repair service confirms seven of eight hypotheses derived from the resource preference model. The results indicate that Americans (versus Chinese) are more dissatisfied with an outcome failure but less dissatisfied with a process failure. This interactive effect of culture and failure type seems to be driven by a corresponding pattern of attribution tendencies across cultures. Not only do Americans and Chinese differ in service dissatisfaction, but they also tend to express their dissatisfaction in different ways, preferring voice and private responses, respectively. Overall, the resource preference model enhances theoretical understanding of cross-cultural consumer behavior and provides culture-specific guidelines for managing the inevitable service failures.

In these proceedings, we present the latest measurements of J/ψ and ϒ by the STAR experiment. The J/ψ and ϒ production measured in p+p collisions provide new baselines for similar measurements in Au+Au collisions, while the measurements in p+Au collisions can help quantify the cold nuclear matter effects. The J/ψ υ2 is measured in both U+U and Au+Au collisions to place constraints on the amount of J/ψ arising from recombination of deconfined charm and anti-charm pairs. Furthermore, the nuclear modification factors for ground and excited ϒ states as a function of transverse momentum and centrality are presented, and compared to those measured at the LHC as well as to theoretical calculations.
