The quaternary A 2W3SeO12 (A = NH4, Cs, Rb, K or Tl) selenites have been prepared in the form of single crystals by hydrothermal and novel solid-state reactions. They were characterized by X-ray diffraction, thermal and spectroscopic studies. All of them have a hexagonal tungsten oxide (HTO) related [W3SeO12]2− anionic framework with pyramidally coordinated Se4+ ions. The known A 2W3SeO12 (A = NH4, Cs or Rb) compounds are isostructural with the Cs2W3TeO12 compound and have a non-centrosymmetric layered structure containing intra-layer Se—O bonds. The new compound K2W3SeO12(α) is isostructural with the K2W3TeO12 compound and has a centrosymmetric three-dimensional structure containing interlayer Se—O bonds. It is inferred that the new Tl2W3SeO12 compound has the same three-dimensional structure as K2W3SeO12(α).

Three-dimensional geological modeling techniques, developed from 1980s, is a new geological technology used to make reservoir fine description and geological characterization with the combination of seismic, geological and reservoir exploration and development based on geostatistics. Three-dimensional geological modeling can achieve the quantitative characterization of the reservoir and heterogeneity of various scales. So far, it has been the most important content of reservoir description, what’s more, three-dimensional structure modeling can improve the accuracy and reliability of fine reservoir description through the establishment of three-dimensional reservoir model, the quantitative distribution of three-dimensional reservoir parameters and geometry.

Sponge-like scaffold with a specific three-dimensional structure resembling the actual extracellular matrix of a particular tissue show significant potential for the regeneration and repair of damaged anisotropic tissues. In this research, an oriented microtubular P34HB scaffold was prepared successfully. The mechanical property showed that anisotropy of modulus is much greater than a typical non-oriented scaffold. Altering the P34HB concentration allowed P34HB scaffolds to be produced with complex pore orientations, and anisotropy in pore size and alignment.

Treatment of an S-bridged pentanuclear AgI3CoIII2complex, [Ag3{Co(L)}2]3+[L3–= N(CH2NHCH2CH2S−)3], in which two tris(thiolate)-type mononuclear CoIIIunits ([Co(L)]) are bridged by three AgIions through S atoms, with iodomethane (CH3I) gave a new CoIIImononuclear complex, [Co(LMe2)]2+[LMe2−= N(CH2NHCH2CH2S−)(CH2NHCH2CH2SCH3)2], systematic name: {2-[(bis{[2-(methylsulfanyl)ethyl]aminomethyl}aminomethyl)amino]ethanethiolato}cobalt(III) bis(hexafluoridophosphate). This cationic complex was crystallized with PF6−anions to form the title compound, [Co(LMe2)](PF6)2. In the [Co(LMe2)]2+cation, two of three thiolate groups in [Co(L)] are methylated while one thiolate group remains unreacted. Although a total of eight stereoisomers are possible for [Co(LMe2)]2+, only a pair of enantiomers {ΛRR- and ΔSS-[Co(LMe2)]2+} are selectively formed. In the crystal, the complex cations and the PF6−anions are connected through weak N—H...F, C—H...F and C—H...S hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional structure. Two F atoms in one PF6anion are disordered over two sets of sites with refined occupancies of 0.61 (4) and 0.39 (4) and two F atoms in the other PF6−anion are disordered over two sets of sites with occupancies of 0.5.
