The study attempts to measure the contributions of sources of employee-based brand equity (EBBE) to the market performance of deposit money banks (DMBs) in Nigeria. A quantitative approach using self-administered questionnaires was adopted. Empirical data was drawn from 360 respondents (182 employees and 178 customers) in the six (6) geo-political zones in Nigeria. Structural Equation Modelling was used to analyse the hypothesized paths/relationships. The study found that out of the three sources of EBBE, brand commitment was the strongest predictor of overall EBBE. It also found that out of the three market performance indicators, customers’ intention to pay a price premium was the most dependent on EBBE sources. In relation to employees/customers relationship, this paper provides evidence for issues of potential research and managerial interest. Practically, the study findings will help brand managers, other marketing practitioners and indeed marketing scholars to develop effective internal brand management strategies with a view to implementing them profitably.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine the antecedents and consequences of trust in online shopping from an e-tail branding perspective. Design/methodology/approach – A structured questionnaire was used to collect data online from Indian e-tail shoppers (n=309). A structural equation modelling (CB-SEM approach) was used to analyse the data. Findings – The results found e-tailer awareness, e-tailer associations, and e-tailer perceived quality as antecedents of trust in online shopping. The results also showed online trust positively influences the behavioural intentions, namely, purchase intention, repurchase, and recommendation. Originality/value – This study examines the applicability and branding and brand management principles in an e-tail branding context. Theoretical and managerial implications of these results are further discussed.

<p><em>The purpose of this study is to identify factors (brand elements) that mediate between Millennials and brand loyalty, and to test a theoretical model that includes these mediating factors in describing the relationship between millennials and brand loyalty. The study focused on the key factors that we identified and hypothesized to mediate the relationship between millennials and brand loyalty. The quantitative study surveyed two hundred and fifty-three (n=253) respondents randomly drawn. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was used to test a model of the relationship between the mediating factors, millennials and brand loyalty. All model fit parameters were well within acceptable bounds. The Comparative Fit Index (CFI) was 0.999, Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) was 0.018, and Standardized Root Mean Square Residual (SRMR) was 0.022. However, we believe that the model is over-fitting the data, and this is not surprising given that there are 22 variables and 253 data points. These results show promise, but require further investigation in a second phase of the inquiry. This study limited itself to surveying millennials, brand loyalty, and the seven mediating factors we identified and hypothesized to play a role in mediating between them. Based on this study, brand management strategies are proposed.</em><em></em></p>

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine the extent to which internal brand management (IBM), a subset of internal marketing, impacts on the three dimensions of job satisfaction ( JS), brand commitment (BC) and intention to stay (IS). Design/methodology/approach – A financial services company in Southern Africa was selected using convenience sampling. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was used to identify the dimensions of IBM, BC, JS and IS. Partial least squares path modeling was used to test the model and the hypotheses. The Mann-Whitney test was used to identify any statistically significant differences between frontline staff and management/support staff. Findings – The EFA of the components of IBM did not yield the three expected dimensions. For service staff, IBM significantly contributes to JS, BC and IS. Internal brand communication is the most important contributor to IBM. Research limitations/implications – In common with others, this research uses a limited sample size in a specific geographic location. The results may differ if replicated in other geographies or organizations. Practical implications – Executives and managers of financial service firms are advised to drive focussed IBM practices rather than waiting for it to become the passive consequence of human resource management. Originality/value – Given the paucity of research into the practical application of IBM, the purpose of this research is to explore the impact of IBM on frontline employees in the financial services industry.

Studies in the developed economies report that corporate social responsibility (CSR) has effect on brand’s performance. However, there is a dearth of such studies in developing economies like India. Therefore, this study attempts to examine the nexus of CSR and brand equity (BE) in Indian business perspective. For the purpose of this study, questionnaire-based online survey was conducted to collect the empirical data. Structural equation modelling (SEM) technique using AMOS 22.0 was utilized to test structural model. Results indicate that firm’s CSR activities have positive effect on its BE. However, brand awareness, brand image, brand loyalty and purchase intention mediate the CSR and BE relationship. This study adds to the existing CSR literature theoretically and also offers the managerial implications. The findings of this study would help the companies to renovate their management strategies from traditional profit oriented to socially responsible business approach for sustainable business performance.

This study aims to determine the influence of corporate positioning on brand equity. Data were obtained from the result of filling out questionnaires by 200 respondents who were all consumers of Gramedia Book Stores. The data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively through Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) analysis. The findings revealed that the corporate positioning of the Gramedia Book Stores has a positive and significant effect on consumer brand equity. Further managerial implications are provided.

This paper attempts to provide an understanding of employee behavior among gen Y known as millennial workers in banking industry. This study provides insights into how internal brand management, brand commitment, job satisfaction shape brand trust, brand citizenship behavior, and intention to stay. Data were collected from 635 employees of public banking in Indonesia. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to test the model and the hypotheses. Findings reveal that internal brand management has a significant effect on brand commitment and job satisfaction. This study also found that brand commitment has strong impact on brand trust and brand citizenship behavior. Then, job satisfaction has significant effect on brand citizenship behavior intention to stay. The distinct of this study is the integration of brand commitment and job satisfaction for its effect on brand trust, brand citizenship behavior, and intention to stay of employees as well providing empirical support for their relationship within the context of banking industry.

A compelling question that constantly arises in our society today is “How do we build a healthy brand that is closely associated with environmental activities?” Enhancing green brand equity is among the answers. This article integrates consumer environmental values with brand knowledge and brand relationships to arrive at an integrated view of how green brand equity can be maximized. Our research employs a questionnaire-based survey to collect data from consumers of electronics products in Ho Chi Minh City using a cluster sampling method. A structural equation modeling method was used to validate the hypothetical relationships. Our analysis suggests that (a) attitudes toward green products and the environmental concern affect consumer’s associations with the green brand, followed by green brand equity and (b) an eco-friendly image and trust in the brand’s green commitments drive a competent green brand. Our article broadens the current understanding of green consumers’ behavior by providing a theoretical model that investigates the associations between brand relationships and consumers’ personal motives which are closely connected with green brand management. Altogether, this study presents a broad picture of green branding mechanisms.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to empirically analyze how brand authenticity (BA) as perceived by consumers who take health functional foods (HFF) strengthen the brand relationship quality (BRQ) and positively affects brand loyalty. Design/methodology/approach The five sub-dimensions of BA perceived by HFF consumers, elicited through a focus group interview, were conceptualized as a second-order reflective construct. To identify the influences of the sub-dimensions of BA on each construct of the BRQ and the influence on brand loyalty though mediating BRQ, an empirical analysis was done using partial least squares-based structural equation modeling. Findings All the sub-dimensions of BA positively affect each of the BRQ s (brand satisfaction, brand trust and brand commitment) excepting product authenticity on brand commitment, and originality on brand trust. The impact of BA positively affects brand loyalty by mediating brand relationship qualities. Originality/value It is found that BA is an important antecedent for forming BRQ with consumers in the HFF industry, in which building trust with consumers is important. BA is an important factor in brand management of HFF.
