The purpose of this study is to develop an infant incubator that is efficient, simple to implement, and can be utilized especially in the rural area of Thailand. Instead of the current one which employed electrical heater, an electrical operated heat pump infant incubator is designed. The requirement of the air conditioning system to provided the room temperature lower than the desired temperature in the incubator (30–38 °C) in no longer needed. An electrical operated heat pump infant incubator using a simple four ways control valve will switch the incubator side to become evaporator when the ambient temperature is higher than the desired temperature and, in contrary, condenser in the when the ambient temperature is lower. A large mass heat exchanger attached to the indoor coils is desired to store energy sufficient that air temperature in the incubator would not drop lower than 0.5 °C from the set point between the compressor cut-out and cut-in. This application of heat pump could provided the opportunity for over six thousand small hospitals in the rural area of Thailand to employ the infant incubator.

The ground-source heat pump is a system which takes the shallow surface soil energy as the source of heating and cooling. The temperature of ground source is relatively stable throughout the year, which makes the ground-source heat pump have the higher operation efficiency compared with the traditional air-conditioning system.Study on the ground-source heat pump with properties of thermal dynamics used in heating and air comditioning by ecomomic analysis is still an important issue. In this paper, the ground-source heat pump and the traditional heating and air-conditioning system have been compared in terms of their economic competitiveness. Firstly, it is required to compare the ground-source heat pump with the traditional heating method in terms of the heating economy. Afterwards, it is necessary to compare the ground-source heat pump with the conventional electric refrigeration in terms of the air-conditioning economy. Finally, it is needed to conduct the comprehensive and economic analysis for the ground-source heat pump and the boilers and air conditioning, which includes four programs.

This paper analyses the energy consumption of water source heat pump, shows that the performance coefficient of water source heat pump unit is directly related to the temperature of water resources, and discusses the feasibility of central heating by recovering condensing heat of power plant using water source heat pump unit. It analyzes the energy saving benefit of water source heat pump unit is significant compared with traditional heating. Using the technology recovers waste heat of power plant, which can not only decrease the energy waste on the direct discharge of waste heat and water, but at the same time, it is a new air conditioning system without environmental pollution.

When the ordinary heat pump air conditioning system of a pure electric vehicle runs at ultra-low temperature, the discharge temperature of compressor will be too high and the heating capacity of the system will decay seriously, it will lead to inactivity of the heating system. In order to solve this problem, a modification is put forward, and an experiment is also designed. The experimental results show that in the same conditions, this new heating system increases more than 20% of the heating capacity; when the outside environment temperature is negative 20 degrees, the discharge temperature of compressor is below 60 degrees.
