An edge detection algorithm is developed for coal gangue images, and the method has two advantages compared with traditional ones. Firstly, multi-resolution analysis of wavelet transform can improve the quality of edge detection. Secondly, the algorithm is faster for real time. Since the threshold directly from the coefficients of wavelet transform, the rate of recognition for coal gangue is highly raised. The experiment results show that the method is an efficient edge detection algorithm for extraction edges from the noised images of coal gangues.

An appropriate fault detection and classification of power system transmission line using discrete wavelet transform and artificial neural networks is performed in this paper. The analysis is carried out by applying discrete wavelet transform for obtained fault phase currents. The work represented in this paper are mainly concentrated on classification of fault and this classification is done based on the obtained energy values after applying discrete wavelet transform by taking this values as an input for the neural network. The proposed system and analysis is carried out in Matlab Simulink.

Wavelet transform algorithm with its unique multi-resolution analysis and it is in the time - frequency domain has the advantage of the ability to characterize the local signal characteristics, let it has been widely used in signal detection, noise removal, feature extraction, image compression and so on. In this paper, on the basis of already wavelet transform ECG noise removal, proposed a median filter optimization algorithm, enables ECG noise removal effect is more obvious, also for the Eigen values detection of ECG lay a better foundation.

In this paper, a simple method is given in order to construct an area preserving mapping from a developable surface M to a plane. Based on the area preserving projection, we give some important formulas on M, and define a multi-resolution analysis on L2(M). We provide the conditions to further discuss the continuous wavelet transform and discrete wavelet transform on developable surface. At the same time, we derived two-scale equations that the scaling function and wavelet function on developable surface satisfied, we also define and discuss the orthogonality, and several important theorems are given. Finally, we construct the numerical examples. The focus of this paper is the area preserving mapping that from developable surface M to a plane, and the discrete wavelet transform on developable surface.

This paper presents an improved image segmentation method based on multi-resolution analysis of wavelet transform and watershed transformation. In the marked-controlled watershed segmentation, we not only enhance the contours of low-resolution input image to acquire segmentation function image, but also use minima imposition technology to apply filters to input image to acquire marked function image. In order to improve segmentation accuracy, we use regional fusion and coarse-fine segmentation in wavelet inverse transform. The experimental results show that the proposed image segmentation method can efficiently reduce over-segmentation, as well as improve the effect of image segmentation. In addition, the proposed method is robust.

The periodicity and the trend which are the important properties of water resources become more and more variable and complex because of the influence of topography, vegetation and the human activities. Wavelet Analysis which has Multi-resolution Analysis function can provide more detail information of the nonlinear and complex system. The periodicity and the trend of precipitation in different plain regions of Handan are illuminated with Morlet Wavelet Transform in Multi-time scales in this study. It is illustrated that the same periods (5years and 9years) exist in the precipitation in different plain regions of Handan and there are the similar variety and the similar trend in the scale of 5years or 9years in different areas. This study would provide technical support for the integrated management and utilization of water resources of the local region.

Electrocardiosignal feature extraction is the base of electrocard iologic automatic diagnosis. By using wavelet transform multi-resolution analysis, the noise in electrocard iosignal is removed; and by using proximity signals of wavelet transform the base linew ander is filtered. The high frequency noise is handled and eliminated with the default threshold; and the average value of the electrocardiosignals is set to zero. In detection of rpeak, because leak detection will occur when only 23 detail signals is considered, thus the 23 and 24 detail signals are integrated to avoid miss detection effectively. The methods avoiding error detection bring excellent effects. For calculating average cardiac electric axis, among the methods of area method, time voltage method and amplitude method, the area method offers the highest accuracy.
