This paper investigates the performance and characteristics of saw tooth shape micro channel in the theoretical level. If the conduct area of the nano fluid increases the heat transfer also increases. The performance curve has drawn Reynolds number against nusselt number, heat transfer co efficient. Pressure drop plays an important role in this device. If pressure drop is high the heat transfer increases. The result in this experiment shows clearly that the heat transfer is optimized.

Compound semiconductor technology is rapidly entering the mainstream, and is quickly finding its way into consumer applications where high performance is paramount. But silicon integrated circuit technology is evolving up the performance curve, and CMOS in particular is consuming ever more market share. Nowhere is this contest more clearly evident than in optical communications. Here applications demand performance ranging from a few hundreds of megahertz to multi-gigahertz, from circuits containing anywhere from tens to tens of thousands of devices. This paper reviews the high performance electronics found in optical communication applications from a technology standpoint, illustrating merits and market trends for these competing, yet often complementary IC technologies.

The metabolic rate of spiny dogfish, Squalus acanthias, was determined in both a tunnel respirometer and a large, covered, circular tank (mass respirometer). Swimming performance was very poor in the respirometer, so that a power–performance curve could not be established. Instead, resting metabolic rates were determined, with higher rates induced by causing heavy thrashing (active metabolism). Routine metabolic rates were measured for the spontaneous activity characterizing behavior in the circular tank. For fish of 2 kg mean weight, the metabolic rates at 10 °C were 32.4 ± 2.6 SE (resting), 49.2 ± 5.0 SE (routine), and 88.4 ± 4.6 SE (active) mg O2∙kg−1∙h−1. Assuming that the routine rate represents a general energy expenditure in nature, this is equivalent to metabolizing about 3.8 kcal∙kg−1∙d−1 (15.9 × 103 J∙kg−1∙d−1). Key words: dogfish, metabolic rates, energetics, respiration

This paper presents a qualitative analysis of controlling the cross-flow fan noise by using porous stabilizers. The stabilizer was originally a folded plate. It is changed into a porous structure which has a plenum chamber and vent holes on the front wall. In order to investigate the influences of using the porous stabilizers, experiments are carried out to measure the cross-flow fan aerodynamic performances and sound radiation. Meanwhile, the internal flow field of the fan is numerically simulated. The results show that the porous stabilizers have not produced considerable effect on the cross-flow fan's performance curve, but the noise radiated from the fan is strongly affected. This indicates the feasibility of controlling the cross-flow fan noise by using the porous stabilizers with selected porosity.
