Acinetobacter baumannii has emerged as a dangerous nosocomial pathogen, particularly for severely ill patients in intensive care units and patients with hematologic malignancies. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of a multidrug-resistant A. baumannii isolate, recovered from a Mexican hospital and classified as sequence type 422 according to the multilocus sequence typing Pasteur scheme.

Antimicrobial resistance is a major problem worldwide. Understanding the interplay between drug-resistant pathogens, such as Acinetobacter baumannii and related species, potentially acting as environmental reservoirs is critical for preventing the spread of resistance determinants.

Acinetobacter nosocomialis is an opportunistic human pathogen that is part of the Acinetobacter calcoaceticus/Acinetobacter baumannii (ACB) complex. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of Acinetobacter nosocomialis strain M2.

Acinetobacter baumannii has emerged as an important nosocomial pathogen worldwide. Here, we present the draft genome of the first multidrug-resistant A. baumannii isolate, sampled from a tertiary hospital in Mexico City. This genome will provide a starting point for studying the genomic diversity of this species in Mexico.

ABSTRACT The sequence type 131 (ST131)- H 30 clone is responsible for a significant proportion of multidrug-resistant extraintestinal Escherichia coli infections. Recently, the C1-M27 clade of ST131- H 30, associated with bla CTX-M-27 , has emerged. The complete genome sequence of E. coli isolate 81009 belonging to this clone, previously used during the development of ST131-specific monoclonal antibodies, is reported here.

Staphylococcal pathogens, especially multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, are responsible for various clinical infections. Multilocus sequence type 630 (ST630) methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus has been shown to have augmented pathogenicity in humans. In this announcement, we report the complete genome sequence of community-acquired methicillin-resistant strain RJ1267 of Staphylococcus aureus ST630.

ABSTRACT Whole-genome sequencing of Acinetobacter sp. strain NCu2D-2, isolated from the trachea of a mouse, revealed the presence of a plasmid of 309,964 bp with little overall similarity to known plasmids and enriched in insertion sequences (ISs) closely related to IS elements known from the nosocomial pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii.

We report here the draft genome sequence of a Streptococcus pneumoniae strain isolated in Monterrey, Mexico, MTY1662SN214, from a man with purpura fulminans. The strain belongs to the invasive and multidrug-resistant serogroup 19A, sequence type 320 (ST320). The draft genome sequence consists of 60 large contigs, a total of 2,069,474 bp, and has a G+C content of 39.7%.
