ABSTRACT Xanthomonas arboricola pv. fragariae was described in 2001 as the causal agent of strawberry bacterial leaf blight. We report here the first draft whole-genome sequences of five X. arboricola pv. fragariae isolates from Italy and France.

ABSTRACT Pseudomonas cannabina pv. alisalensis and Pseudomonas syringae pv. maculicola cause bacterial leaf blight and bacterial leaf spot of crucifers (Brassicaceae). Both pathogens are threats to the cultivation of cruciferous crops. Here, we sequenced two strains of each pathogen, which will contribute to the development of countermeasures for the above diseases.

ABSTRACT Actinomyces sp. strain Chiba101, isolated from an arthritic leg joint of a pig raised in Japan, is a bacterium closely related to Actinomyces denticolens. Here, we deciphered the complete genome sequence of Actinomyces sp. Chiba101 and the high-quality draft genome sequence of A. denticolens DSM 20671T.

ABSTRACT Drug-resistant Shigella sonnei poses a clinical and public health challenge. We report here the high-quality draft whole-genome sequences of four outbreak-associated S. sonnei isolates; three were resistant to two or more antibiotics, and one was resistant to streptomycin only.

Colombia, with a tuberculosis incidence of 33 cases per 100,000 population, is one of the countries that have reported extensively drug-resistant  Mycobacterium tuberculosis  (XDR-TB). We report the high-quality draft genome sequences of two Latin American–Mediterranean XDR-TB clinical isolates (TBR-152 and TBR-175), comprising 4,303,775 bp and 4,330,115 bp, respectively.

ABSTRACT We report here high-quality draft whole-genome assemblies of Xylella fastidiosa subsp. fastidiosa strains OK3, VB11, and NOB1, which were isolated from symptomatic bunch and muscadine grape plants grown in southern Mississippi.

ABSTRACT Escherichia spp., including E. albertii and E. coli, Shigella dysenteriae, and S. flexneri are causative agents of foodborne disease. We report here reference-level whole-genome sequences of E. albertii (2014C-4356), E. coli (2011C-4315 and 2012C-4431), S. dysenteriae (BU53M1), and S. flexneri (94-3007 and 71-2783).

This report describes the draft genome sequences of Lactobacillus salivarius A3iob and Lactobacillus johnsonii CRL1647, probiotic strains isolated from the gut of honeybee Apis mellifera workers. The reads were generated by a whole-genome sequencing (WGS) strategy on an Illumina MiSeq sequencer and were assembled into contigs with total sizes of 2,054,490 and 2,137,413 bp for the A3iob and CRL1647 strains, respectively.

Whole-genome shotgun sequences and bottom-up assembly of contigs of six skin isolates of Streptococcus pyogenes, viz., NS88.3 (emm98.1), NS223 (emm91), NS455 (emm52), SS1448 (emm86.2), SS1572 (emm223), and SS1574 (emm224), are presented here. All contigs were annotated, and the gene arrangements and the inferred proteins were consistent with a pattern D classification.
