ABSTRACT Corynebacterium diphtheriae has caused multiple isolated diphtheria cases in Malaysia over the years. Here, we report the first draft genome sequences of 15 Malaysia C. diphtheriae clinical isolates collected from the years 1981 to 2016.

Since the implementation of the diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis (DPT) vaccine in Colombia, there has been a decrease in the reporting of cases. Here, we report two isolates of Corynebacterium diphtheriae bv. mitis isolated in the reference laboratory at Instituto Nacional de Salud from samples received from Norte de Santander and La Guajira; both areas are located on the northeast border of Colombia.

To date, Veillonella tobetsuensis has been known as an oral anaerobe and a facilitator of early-stage oral biofilm development with streptococci. Here, we report the draft genome sequences of 2 strains of V. tobetsuensis first isolated from intraoperative bronchial fluids of elderly patients with pulmonary carcinoma.

ABSTRACT Recently, we reported the draft genome sequence of Streptococcus gallolyticus NTS31106099. It was found to contain a previously unknown putative Tn916-like conjugative transposon, Tn6263. Here, we report the draft genome sequences of two other clinical isolates, NTS31301958 and NTS31307655. Both of them contain another novel element, Tn6331, which is highly similar to Tn6263.

Draft genome sequences of Corynebacterium macginleyi CCUG 32361T and clinical isolates NML 080212 and NML 120205 were assembled and studied. Genome sizes ranged from 2.35 Mb to 2.42 Mb, with G+C contents ranging from 57.1% to 57.2%.

We sequenced the genomes of eight isolates from various regions of the United States. These isolates form a monophyletic cluster clearly related to but distinct from Vibrio cholerae.

ABSTRACT We report here the draft genome sequences of two clinically isolated Acinetobacter baumannii strains. These samples were obtained from patients at the University of Colorado Hospital in 2007 and 2013 and encode an estimated 20 and 13 resistance genes, respectively.

We present the genome sequences of two carbapenemase-producing sequence type 405 Escherichia coli clinical isolates, strains Marseille-Q1950 and Marseille-Q1951. The isolates were obtained 1 month apart during the patient’s hospitalization in Lebanon, in May (Marseille-Q1950) and June (Marseille-Q1951) 2019. The genome sizes of strains Marseille-Q1950 and Marseille-Q1951 were 5,181,515 bp and 5,213,451 bp, respectively.

Klebsiella quasipneumoniae is an emerging pathogen in human medicine. We report draft genome sequences of NDM-1- and KPC-2-producing K. quasipneumoniae strains from inpatients in Brazil. K. quasipneumoniae subsp. quasipneumoniae and K. quasipneumoniae subsp. similipneumoniae harbored broad resistomes. These data could contribute to a better understanding of acquired resistance in K. quasipneumoniae.

In the battle against tuberculosis (TB), plasticity of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis genome is believed to contribute to the pathogen’s virulence and drug resistance. Here, we report 10 draft genome sequences of clinical M. tuberculosis isolated in Malaysia as the basis for understanding the genome plasticity of the M. tuberculosis isolates.

ABSTRACT Cattle harbor and shed in their feces several Escherichia coli O104 serotypes. All O104 strains examined were intimin negative and belonged to the B1 phylogroup, and some were Shiga toxigenic. We report here the genome sequences of bovine O104:H7 (n = 5), O104:H23 (n = 2), O104:H8 (n = 1), and O104:H12 (n = 1) isolates and human clinical isolates of O104:H7 (n = 5).
