We present the genome sequences of two carbapenemase-producing sequence type 405 Escherichia coli clinical isolates, strains Marseille-Q1950 and Marseille-Q1951. The isolates were obtained 1 month apart during the patient’s hospitalization in Lebanon, in May (Marseille-Q1950) and June (Marseille-Q1951) 2019. The genome sizes of strains Marseille-Q1950 and Marseille-Q1951 were 5,181,515 bp and 5,213,451 bp, respectively.

Escherichia coli sequence type 131 (ST131) is an important global health issue nowadays and is responsible for many clinical infections. Here, we present the complete genome sequences of two ST131 clinical isolates and one ST131 fecal isolate.

ABSTRACT We present here the draft genome sequences of two colistin-resistant mcr-1-carrying Escherichia coli strains belonging to sequence type 74 (ST74) and ST1850, isolated from commercial chicken meat in Brazil. Assembly of this draft genome resulted in 5,022,083 and 4,950,681 bp, respectively, revealing the presence of the IncX4 plasmid-mediated mcr-1 gene responsible for resistance to colistin.

Eravacycline is a novel broad-spectrum fluorocycline with potent Gram-negative activity, including for multidrug-resistant strains. Among 472Escherichia coliclinical isolates from 24 Veterans Affairs medical centers (in 2011), divided equally as susceptible versus resistant to fluoroquinolones, broth microdilution eravacycline MICs were distributed unimodally, ranging from 0.03 to 1.0 μg/ml (MIC50of 0.125 μg/ml, MIC90of 0.25 μg/ml). Eravacycline MICs were ∼2-fold higher among fluoroquinolone-resistant, gentamicin-resistant, multidrug-resistant, and sequence type 131 (ST131) isolates (P< 0.01 for each comparison).

ABSTRACT We report here the draft genome sequences of two clinically isolated Acinetobacter baumannii strains. These samples were obtained from patients at the University of Colorado Hospital in 2007 and 2013 and encode an estimated 20 and 13 resistance genes, respectively.

ABSTRACT The complete genome sequence of a Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) O26:H11 strain, MBT-5 (sequence type 21 [ST21], stx1a, stx2a, eae, ehxA), and two draft genome sequences of Listeria monocytogenes strains MBT-6 and MBT-7 belonging to the virulent sequence types 1 (ST1, clonal complex 1 [CC1]) and 59 (ST59, CC59), respectively, were determined. The strains were isolated in 2015 from ready-to-eat mixed greens in Germany.

ABSTRACT Draft genomes of seven extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Escherichia coli strains recovered from New Zealand waterways are described. The mean genome size was 5.1 Mb, with 4,724 coding sequences. All genomes contained the ESBL gene blaCTX-M, and one carried a plasmid-mediated AmpC gene, blaCMY-2. A multidrug-resistant genotype was detected in three isolates.

Extraintestinal Escherichia coli sequence type 1193 (ST1193) is an important source of fluoroquinolone resistance, which has emerged in recent years. We report the first draft genome sequence and annotation of a multidrug-resistant E. coli ST1193 strain obtained from a wastewater treatment plant in Austria.

ABSTRACT Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli serotype O157:H7 is a major cause of foodborne outbreaks and hemolytic-uremic syndrome. Here, we report the draft genome sequences of three antibiotic-resistant E. coli O157:H7 strains isolated from feedlot cattle. These draft genome sequences will aid in the development of sequence-based tools for the detection of virulence and antimicrobial resistance genotypes.

Isolation of metallo-β-lactamase-producing, carbapenem-resistant, Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains is increasingly being documented worldwide; their presence constitutes a public health threat. Here, we report draft genome sequences of two New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase-1-producing, multidrug-resistant, P. aeruginosa strains of sequence type 235 that were isolated from the surgical wound of two patients hospitalized in the same ward.

ABSTRACT Cattle harbor and shed in their feces several Escherichia coli O104 serotypes. All O104 strains examined were intimin negative and belonged to the B1 phylogroup, and some were Shiga toxigenic. We report here the genome sequences of bovine O104:H7 (n = 5), O104:H23 (n = 2), O104:H8 (n = 1), and O104:H12 (n = 1) isolates and human clinical isolates of O104:H7 (n = 5).
