We report the draft genome sequence of Monascus purpureus GB-01, an industrial strain used as a food colorant. De novo assembly of long reads resulted in 121 chromosomal contigs and 1 mitochondrial contig, and sequencing errors were corrected by paired-end short reads. This genome sequence will provide useful information for azaphilone pigments and mycotoxin citrinin biosynthesis.

We present the draft genome sequence of an isogenic haploid strain, IR-2idA30(MAT a), established from Saccharomyces cerevisiae IR-2. Assembly of long reads and previously obtained contigs from the genome of diploid IR-2 resulted in 50 contigs, and the variations and sequencing errors were corrected by short reads.

ABSTRACT This study reports the draft genome sequence of a promising fish probiotic, Bacillus subtilis strain WS1A, that possesses antimicrobial activity against Aeromonas veronii and suppressed motile Aeromonas septicemia in Labeo rohita. The de novo assembly resulted in an estimated chromosome size of 4,148,460 bp, with 4,288 open reading frames.

We report here the draft genome sequence for Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain Awamori number 101, an industrial strain used for producing awamori, a distilled alcohol beverage. It was constructed by assembling the short reads obtained by next-generation sequencing. The 315 contigs constitute an 11.5-Mbp genome sequence coding 6,185 predicted proteins.

ABSTRACT We report a de novo-assembled draft genome sequence of the Indian Staphylococcus aureus sequence type 88 (ST88) strain LVP-7, isolated from an ocular infection. The genome harbors a Panton-Valentine leukocidin phage, a type V staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec element, the delta-hemolysin-converting Newman phage ΦNM3, and the pathogenicity island SaPI3, encoding the superantigen enterotoxin B.

ABSTRACT Acholeplasma laidlawii can be isolated from cattle environments and different body sites of bovines. It is still under evaluation if A. laidlawii acts as a primary pathogen. Here, we present the whole-genome sequence of A. laidlawii isolated from the conjunctiva of a heifer with infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis.

Abstract Internal parasitic nematodes are a global animal health issue causing drastic losses in livestock. Here, we report a H. contortus representative draft genome to serve as a genetic resource to the scientific community and support future experimental research of molecular mechanisms in related parasites. A de novo hybrid assembly was generated from PCR-free whole genome sequence data, resulting in a chromosome-level assembly that is 465 Mb in size encoding 22,341 genes. The genome sequence presented here is consistent with the genome architecture of the existing Haemonchus species and is a valuable resource for future studies regarding population genetic structures of parasitic nematodes. Additionally, comparative pan-genomics with other species of economically important parasitic nematodes have revealed highly open genomes and strong collinearities within the phylum Nematoda.

ABSTRACT We report an improved de novo draft genome sequence of the human-pathogenic strain Nocardia terpenica IFM 0706T. The resequencing unveiled that the genome size is larger than anticipated, reducing significantly the number of contigs and building a basis for comparison with the closely related strain N. terpenica IFM 0406.

ABSTRACT Scenedesmus acuminatus, also known as Tetradesmus acuminatus, is a promising green microalga for sustainable production of microalga products, including valuable compounds such as astaxanthin, β-carotene, and lutein, polysaccharides such as β-glucan, and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Here, we report the draft whole-genome sequence of Scenedesmus acuminatus SAG 38.81.
