ABSTRACT The genome sequence of a uropathogenic Escherichia coli sequence type 420 strain isolated from a patient with urinary tract infection in northern California is described here. The draft genome sequence includes a 4.8-Mb chromosome, accompanied by a 114-kb plasmid containing IncFIB/IncFII/Col156 and a 35-kb plasmid containing IncN3.

Enterococcus faecium is a leading cause of health care-associated infections, with specific lineages circulating in hospital settings worldwide. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of the multidrug-resistant and biofilm-producing E. faecium UEL170, sequence type 412 (ST412), isolated from an inpatient with a urinary tract infection.

ABSTRACT Actinomyces neuii is an opportunistic pathogen. Within the urogenital tract, it has been associated with bacterial vaginosis and overactive bladder symptoms. Here, we investigate a draft genome sequence of A. neuii UMB1295, which was isolated from a catheterized urine sample from a woman with a urinary tract infection.

ABSTRACT Here, we present the draft genome sequence of Escherichia coli UMB1353, isolated from a patient with a urinary tract infection. The sequence of this antibiotic-resistant E. coli strain contains one intact P2-like phage.

Escherichia coli sequence type 410 (ST410) is now an international high-risk clone and is responsible for a large number of clinical infections. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of an ST410 clinical isolate harboring multiple bla NDM-5 genes that was obtained from urine culture in China.

We report here a draft genome sequence ofEnterococcus faecalisstrain F165 isolated from a urine specimen in South Brazil. The genome size was 3,049,734 bp, with a G+C content of 37.38%, and genes related to antimicrobial resistance and adherence were found in the strain. These findings are consistent with pathogenesis ofE. faecalisspecies.

Here, we present the draft genome sequence of an unusual Enterococcus faecium isolate (CL-6729) showing constitutive expression of the VanA type of vancomycin resistance. The isolate was recovered from a patient with a nosocomial urinary tract infection in Brazil.

Extraintestinal Escherichia coli sequence type 1193 (ST1193) is an important source of fluoroquinolone resistance, which has emerged in recent years. We report the first draft genome sequence and annotation of a multidrug-resistant E. coli ST1193 strain obtained from a wastewater treatment plant in Austria.

ABSTRACT We present here the draft genome sequence of the first New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase (NDM-1)-producing Escherichia coli strain, belonging to sequence type 155 (ST155), isolated in Peru. Assembly of this draft genome resulted in 5,061,184 bp, revealing a clinically significant resistome for β-lactams, aminoglycosides, tetracyclines, phenicols, sulfonamides, trimethoprim, and fluoroquinolones.
