Endophytic strains of Pseudomonas were isolated from grapevine tissues and exhibited antagonistic activity against several grapevine trunk disease pathogens. The draft genome sequences of the four strains revealed the presence of putative gene clusters that may impart biocontrol activity against plant pathogens.

Seven strains of endospore-forming bacteria with antagonistic activity against a series of plant pathogens were sequenced in order to investigate their antimicrobial gene clusters and antimicrobial modes of action. The selected strains include six Bacillus strains and one Brevibacillus strain.

Numerous bacterial strains from the Burkholderia cepacia complex display biocontrol activity. Here, we report the complete genome sequences of five Burkholderia strains isolated from soil. Biosynthetic gene clusters responsible for the production of antimicrobial compounds were found in the genome of these strains, which display biocontrol activity against various lettuce pathogens.

Photorhabdus luminescens subsp. sonorensis strain Caborca is an entomopathogenic bacterium with a dual lifestyle, namely, as a mutualist of the Heterorhabditis sonorensis nematode and a pathogen to a wide range of insect species. The genome assembly, in 231 contigs, is 5.2 Mbp long and includes 25 putative gene clusters for secondary metabolism.

Three strains of fungus-associated Burkholderiales bacteria with antagonistic activity against Gram-negative plant pathogens were genome sequenced to investigate their taxonomic placement and potential for antimicrobial specialized metabolite production. The selected strains were identified as novel taxa belonging to the genus Paraburkholderia and carry multiple biosynthetic gene clusters.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the draft genome sequences of two related Streptomyces sp. strains, JV180 and SP18CM02. Despite their isolation from soils in Connecticut and Missouri (USA), respectively, they are strikingly similar in gene content. Both belong to the Streptomyces griseus clade and harbor several secondary metabolite biosynthetic gene clusters.

ABSTRACT We report here the whole-genome sequencing results of two bacterial isolates, Aeromonas jandaei IMET J and Cloacibacterium normanense IMET F, that inhibit (possibly due to denitrifying gene clusters) and promote (possibly due to an ammonification system), respectively, the growth of the microalgal strains Scenedesmus HTB1 and Chlorella vulgaris 1807.

ABSTRACT We report here the draft genome sequences, annotations, and predictions of secondary metabolite gene clusters of two endophytic Streptomyces species isolated from wheat plants growing in the Western Australian wheat belt. These strains, Streptomyces sp. strains MH60 and 111WW2, possess antifungal and/or plant growth-promoting activities.

Here, we report 12 draft genome sequences of mutant Mycolicibacterium smegmatis strains resistant to imidazo[1,2-b][1,2,4,5]tetrazines, which are antituberculosis drug candidates. We have identified 7 different mutations in the MSMEG_1380 gene, which encodes the AcrR/TetR_N transcriptional repressor, which may activate efflux-mediated resistance.

Flavobacterium psychrophilum is a Gram-negative, psychrophilic bacterium within the family Flavobacteriaceae. Here, we report the draft genome sequences of three F. psychrophilum strains isolated from skin ulcers of diseased ayu caught by tomozuri angling at three sites in the Kagami River in Japan.

Draft genomes of two strains of Escherichia coli, FP2 and FP3, isolated from the feces of the Canada goose (Branta canadensis), were sequenced. Genome sizes were 5.26 Mb with a predicted G+C content of 50.54% (FP2) and 5.07 Mb with a predicted G+C content of 50.41% (FP3).
