We report here the complete genome sequences of three Bacillus cereus group strains isolated from blood cultures from premature and immunocompromised infants hospitalized in intensive care units in three French hospitals. These complete genome sequences were obtained from a combination of Illumina HiSeq X Ten short reads and Oxford Nanopore MinION long reads.

ABSTRACT Three double-stranded DNA phi29-like Bacillus cereus group bacteriophages, BeachBum, Harambe, and SerPounce, were identified and characterized. BeachBum and Harambe are closely related but are remarkably different from previously identified phi29-like phages. SerPounce is substantially closer to other phi29-like phages, enabling the identification of its prohead RNA (pRNA) gene.

ABSTRACT Three cluster C Myoviridae bacteriophages that infect Bacillus cereus group bacteria were isolated from soil collected in the mid-Atlantic region using B. thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki as a host. Bacillus phages HonestAbe, Anthony, and Taffo16 each shared 90% or higher average nucleotide identities within their subclusters.

Here, we report genome sequences of 10 Bacillus cereus group-infecting bacteriophages. Each virus was isolated from an environmental sample, contained a double-stranded DNA genome, and belonged to the Myoviridae family. Nine phages exhibit a conserved genome structure, and one phage appears novel in genome structure, sequence, and protein content.

ABSTRACT In total, 12 quinolone-resistant Escherichia coli (QREC) strains containing qnrS1 were submitted to long-read sequencing using a FLO-MIN106 flow cell on a MinION device. The long reads were assembled with short reads (Illumina) and analyzed using the MOB-suite pipeline. Six of these QREC genome sequences were closed after hybrid assembly.

ABSTRACT Pseudomonas sp. strains 29A and 43A were originally isolated from the phyllosphere of individual plants of Cardamine cordifolia (Brassicaceae). Here, we report complete genome sequences for these two closely related strains, assembled using a hybrid approach combining Illumina paired-end reads and longer reads sequenced on an Oxford Nanopore MinION flow cell.

ABSTRACT Bacteria from the Bacillus cereus group exhibit genetic and physiological diversity through different ecotypes. Here, we present the draft genome sequences of 20 bacterial strains belonging to the contrasted psychrotolerant and thermotolerant ecotypes.

ABSTRACT Streptomyces lunaelactis MM109T is a ferroverdin A (anticholesterol) producer isolated from cave moonmilk deposits. The complete genome sequence of MM109T was obtained by combining Oxford Nanopore MinION and Illumina HiSeq and MiSeq technologies, revealing an 8.4-Mb linear chromosome and two plasmids, pSLUN1 (127,264 bp, linear) and pSLUN2 (46,827 bp, circular).

We report the sequences of nine novel Bacillus cereus group bacteriophages: DIGNKC, Juglone, Nemo, Nigalana, NotTheCreek, Phrodo, SageFayge, Vinny, and Zuko. These bacteriophages are double-stranded DNA-containing Myoviridae isolated from soil samples using B. thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki as the host bacterium.

ABSTRACT A single-chromosome closed genome of Peptacetobacter (Clostridium) hiranonis strain DGF055142 was generated using Illumina MiSeq short reads paired with Oxford Nanopore MinION long reads. This isolate was obtained from a canine in Flagstaff, Arizona, in 2019. Peptacetobacter (C.) hiranonis was hypothesized to contribute to canine Clostridium difficile infection resistance.

Here, we describe the complete genome sequences of two Bordetella pertussis strains, FR5810, a clinical isolate recovered from the respiratory tract of an infant, and Tohama, a key reference strain for the species. Sequences were obtained using a hybrid approach combining Oxford Nanopore Technologies MinION and Illumina NextSeq 500 sequence data.
