ABSTRACT We report the draft genome sequence of Escherichia coli ASBT-1, a representative of E. coli sequence type 155 (ST155), obtained from India. Considering the known wide variety of pathogenic and antibiotic resistance potentials, this strain should be of great interest for detailed comparative genomic analysis.

We present here the draft genome sequence of Listeria monocytogenes CIIMS-NV-3, a serovar 4b strain isolated from the vaginal swab of a female patient from central India. The availability of this genome may provide useful information on virulence characteristics for comparative genomic analysis.

Vibrio vulnificus 86573B is a biotype 1 strain isolated from a moribund tilapia collected in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, during an outbreak early in 1997. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of this bacterium to facilitate the investigation of its biology and future comparative genomic analysis.

Extraintestinal Escherichia coli sequence type 1193 (ST1193) is an important source of fluoroquinolone resistance, which has emerged in recent years. We report the first draft genome sequence and annotation of a multidrug-resistant E. coli ST1193 strain obtained from a wastewater treatment plant in Austria.

ABSTRACT A colistin-resistant mcr-1 -carrying Escherichia coli strain, RC2-007, was isolated from a swine farm in Mexico. This extraintestinal and uropathogenic strain of E. coli belongs to serotype O89:H9 and sequence type 744. Assembly and annotation resulted in a 4.9-Mb draft genome that revealed the presence of plasmid-mediated mcr-1 -IS ApI1 genes as part of a prophage.

Here, we present the draft genome sequence of a multidrug-resistant (MDR) Escherichia coli strain belonging to sequence type 617 (ST617), isolated from beach ghost shrimp from polluted coastal waters in Brazil. These data provide valuable information for comparative genomic analysis, related to the dissemination of MDR E. coli in marine ecosystems.

ABSTRACT The genome sequence of a uropathogenic Escherichia coli sequence type 420 strain isolated from a patient with urinary tract infection in northern California is described here. The draft genome sequence includes a 4.8-Mb chromosome, accompanied by a 114-kb plasmid containing IncFIB/IncFII/Col156 and a 35-kb plasmid containing IncN3.

ABSTRACT We present here the draft genome sequence of the first New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase (NDM-1)-producing Escherichia coli strain, belonging to sequence type 155 (ST155), isolated in Peru. Assembly of this draft genome resulted in 5,061,184 bp, revealing a clinically significant resistome for β-lactams, aminoglycosides, tetracyclines, phenicols, sulfonamides, trimethoprim, and fluoroquinolones.
