Here, we have studied the sensitivity of fusion excitation functions of reactions induced by weakly bound projectiles [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] on [Formula: see text] target on nuclear potential parameters and on number of partial waves. The Kemble version of WKB approximation and Hill–Wheeler formula has been used to predict the fusion transmission probability below and above the Coulomb barrier, respectively, and the optimum values for radius (r0) = 1.17 fm, diffuseness (a) = 0.5 fm and for partial waves (l) = up to 60 are proposed. The coupled channel calculations have also been performed and it is found that the matching between data and predictions have been enhanced on inclusion of coupling effects. Further, the breakup effects are also taken into account through the dynamic polarization potential (DPP) approach. It further improves matching between data and predictions.

The quasimolecular potential in the sudden approximation is used both near and above the Coulomb barrier (CB) for the [Formula: see text] system. It is found that the resonances associated with the dinuclear configuration are well produced in energy above the CB. Near and below the CB where adiabatic potential is appropriate, it was found that the potential can also be used, provided the potential parameters are varied and the range parameter of the Yukawa term is increased. Resonance positions for [Formula: see text] and 11 agree with experimental findings. The [Formula: see text] resonance energy and width very near 9[Formula: see text]MeV and not at 8.8[Formula: see text]MeV is also reproduced thus supporting experimental results.

The scattering of a weakly bound three-body system by a target is studied within the four-body continuum-discretized coupled-channels (4b-CDCC) framework. Two different methods, the transformed harmonic oscillator (THO) method and the binning procedure, are used for discretizing the three-body continuum. The formalism is applied to different reactions induced by the Borromean nucleus 6 He at energies around the Coulomb barrier: 6 He +64 Zn at 13.6 MeV, 6 He +120 Sn at 17.4 MeV, and 6 He +208 Pb at 22 MeV. Elastic cross section distributions are presented for these reactions comparing both discretization methods, THO and binning, as the mass of the target increases.

We investigate the dynamic polarization potential (DPP) contribution to the bare potential obtained by using double-folding model (DFM) within the framework of the Optical Model (OM) for the different density distributions of 6 He nucleus scattered from 208 Pb target at 22 MeV. The final results are in agreement with the experimental data. We are proposing a new parametrization of the DPP that could be very useful in other weakly bound projectile studies.

We investigated the reaction dynamics induced by the 7Be,8B+208Pb collisions at energies around the Coulomb barrier. Charged particles originated by both the col- lisions were detected by means of 6 ΔE-Eres telescopes of a newly developed detector array. Experimental data were analysed within the framework of the Optical Model and the total reaction cross-sections were compared together and with the 6,7Li+208Pb colli-sion data. According to the preliminary results, 7Be nucleus reactivity is rather similar to the 7Li one whereas the 8B+208Pb total reaction cross section appears to be much larger than those measured for reactions induced by the other weakly-bound projectiles on the same target.
