We investigate the effects on the pitchfork bifurcation and the vibrational resonance of an overdamped bistable system subjected to both a slow harmonic excitation and a fast periodic excitation with different waveforms. We use numerical simulations along with theoretical explanations to analyze some interesting phenomena. The bifurcation configuration depends closely on the form of the fast excitation. As a result, we have found that the key factor to influence the bifurcation configuration is the symmetry property of the fast excitation. Further, due to the relationship of the vibrational resonance with the pitchfork bifurcation, the vibrational resonance also depends closely on the form of the fast periodic excitation. Moreover, for anharmonic fast excitations, if it is asymmetric, the vibrational resonance usually depends closely on the initial conditions.

The relationship of Semantic Similarity of an Object as a Function of the Context (SSOFC) being the key factor in data integration is investigated. The SSOFC is a context-based system, which exploits the context of an object by utilizing the semantic similarity involved, in order to reconcile bottleneck conflicts (semantic) standing in the way of interoperability acquisition in heterogeneous systems. SSOFC is further re-enforced with the agents to equip architectural intelligence and facilitate the cooperative tasks, such as the versatility to pass, share, communicate, liaise, and negotiate the information among the architectural components in a human way. The SSOFC operates in semantic and schematic spaces that are linked with a projection facilitated by cooperative agents. In the Semantic Space, the semantic proximity (semPro) through its first component context captures the real world semantics from the local heterogeneous sources. Meanwhile, in Structural Space, the schema correspondences are paramount in order to capture structural similarities in an algebraic or mathematical formalism for reasoning and manipulation on the computer.

Transferring plays an important role between different lines of urban rail transport and routine public transit. The convenience of a transfer station not only directly affects the efficiency of the whole traffic network, but also is a key factor that influences travel convenience. Based on GIS, through the study of the convenience at the 16 subway transfer stations in Beijing, the article tries to find the relationship of the evaluations on the transferring between metro-metro and metro-bus. Finally, by further clustering analysis on the spatial distributions of the transferring evaluations, this article reveals the existing problems of the layout of transfer stations and proposes several effective suggestions and countermeasures for them.

Drawing upon the psychology of sustainability, effective organizations can create a sense of belongingness for people, and successfully facilitate growth and development activities for both individuals as well as the organization itself. Extending the recommendations of Zappala, Toscano, and Licciardello, the current study considers a range of variables. The role of overall justice judgements and change favorableness are taken as predictors of affective commitment to change and exit-based withdrawal. The relationship is mediated by organizational identification and moderated by trust in organization. Overall, the results support the hypothesized relationships. Specifically, findings showed that both change favorableness and overall justice judgements are positively related to affective commitment to change and negatively related to exit-based withdrawal. Organizational identification mediates the relationships between overall justice judgements–affective commitment to change, change favorableness–affective commitment to change, and change favorableness–exit-based withdrawal, whilst trust in organizations moderated the direct relationship between overall justice judgements–affective commitment to change, and change favorableness–exit-based withdrawal. Furthermore, the indirect effect of trust in organizations positively moderated the relationship of overall justice judgements and change favorableness with affective commitment to change, and at the same time, it negatively moderated the relationship between change favorableness and exit-based withdrawal via organizational identification. Crucially, for practitioners, this brings trust of employees as a key factor that should be managed to ensure sustainable change. Both trust and identity appear important in improving commitment and lowering the exit-based withdrawal behavior of employees. Future recommendations, implications, and limitations are discussed.

Stochastic resonance is significant for signal detection. In this paper, a method to improve the stochastic resonance performance in a bistable system excited by bounded noise is studied. Specifically, we add a high-frequency signal to the system as an auxiliary excitation to induce vibrational resonance and focus on the influence of the auxiliary excitation waveform on the improvement effect. We investigate the stochastic resonance performance improved by a fast excitation in different waveforms through numerical simulations. The results show that, the improvement effect of the stochastic resonance depends on the waveform of the fast excitation closely. The symmetry property and constant component of the fast excitation are two key factors. Further, we accomplish the circuit simulation by constructing a circuit to generate bounded noise and the circuit of the bistable system.

Abstract The protection of intellectual property represents a key factor for the establishment of the particular rights of the scientific sector, and the clear record of the technological development of a country. The protection strategies of industrial property and copyright are relevant to maintain control of knowledge management, confidentiality during its development and the security of exclusivity in research activities. The relationship between colleagues to present a paper should be trustworthy, however plagiarism is one of the main concerns of researchers when they have to disclose their work where experts in the field are generally present. The objective of this research was to identify the reasons why researchers do not usually protect their scientific works, and through the application of a survey it is described that it is due to the lack of knowledge in the area of protection of intellectual property. It is concluded that it is important to propose the generation of knowledge to researchers about the advantages of implementing a process to protect their works for a relationship of trust with colleagues and students. The initial-value problem for the linear, inviscid motion of a contained, rotating stratified fluid is considered in the limit of weak stratification, that is, for small values of the stratification parameter S = N2/Ω2, where N is the Brunt–Väisälä frequency and Ω is the rotational frequency. The limiting flow is of interest because, although the initial-value problem has been studied, both for the case of a homogeneous, rotating fluid and for the case of a stratified, rotating fluid, the exact relationship of the two flows, in the limit of vanishing stratification, is not straightforward. For example, the method of determining, from the initial conditions, the steady geostrophic component of the flow of a rotating, stratified fluid does not in general give a motion that reduces, in the limit S → 0, to the steady component of the flow of a homogeneous fluid. By including a consideration of slow unsteady motions that vary on a time scale dependent on the stratification parameter, the relationship of the limiting flow to the flow of a homogeneous fluid is established.

Supporting system of external suspension tower crane is the key factor which impairs the safety of the tower cranes. In this article, the problem is studied about the influence of different supporting point stiffness on the force of the tower crane external suspension. Based on the structural mechanics theory, the displacement of the lower statically indeterminate beam and the horizontal displacement of the upper statically indeterminate truss are solved firstly, then the stiffness of the supporting point on the lower beam and the entirety stiffness of the upper horizontal combination struts can be obtained. We can get the optimal supporting structure by drawing the relationship of stiffness1-stiffness2-force which is of significant to the external suspension’s design and installation in Matlab software.

In this article, the dynamic characteristic of linkage bobbing machine with balanced double-mass bearing periodic excitation and damping is studied. Subharmonic Melnikov function of the oscillating periodic orbits is computed through Melnikov method. And, the relationship of parameters is given when the subharmonic bifurcation occurs. The periodic motion is simulated. Through analysis, as the excitation frequency varies, the periodic motion undergoes flip bifurcations and subharmonic bifurcation occurs, which finally leads to chaos. In addition, the ultra-subharmonic solution of the system is given.
