This paper develops some criteria for a kind of hybrid stochastic systems with time-delay, which improve existing results on hybrid systems without considering noises. The improved results show that the presence of noise is quite involved in the stability analysis of hybrid systems. New results can be used to analyze the stability of a kind of stochastic hybrid impulsive and switching neural networks (SHISNN). Therefore, stability analysis of SHISNN can be turned into solving a linear matrix inequality (LMI).

This paper investigates the robust stability for a class of stochastic systems with both state and control inputs. The problem of the robust stability is solved via static output feedback, and we convert the problem to a constrained convex optimization problem involving linear matrix inequality (LMI). We show how the proposed linear matrix inequality framework can be used to select a quadratic Lyapunov function. The control laws can be produced by assuming the stability of the systems. We verify that all controllers can robustly stabilize the corresponding system. Further, the numerical simulation results verify the theoretical analysis results.

Some sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of cellular neural networks with time delay are derived using the Lyapunov–Krasovskii stability theory for functional differential equations as well as the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach. The analysis shows how some well-known results can be refined and generalized in a straightforward manner. Moreover, the stability criteria obtained are delay-independent. They are less conservative and restrictive than those reported so far in the literature, and provide a more general set of criteria for determining the stability of delayed cellular neural networks.

This paper discusses the problems of robust stabilization of stochastic systems with parametric uncertainties and time delay in control input. The parametric uncertainties which appear in all system matrices are assumed to be norm bounded. The delay-dependent stabilization condition is derived by taking the relationships between terms in the Leibniz-Newton formula into account. Free-weighting matrices are employed to express these relationship, and the sufficient stabilization condition is formulated in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI) based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii theory, which can be solved by LMI toolbox in Matlab

A new robust training law, which is called an input/output-to-state stable training law (IOSSTL), is proposed for dynamic neural networks with external disturbance. Based on linear matrix inequality (LMI) formulation, the IOSSTL is presented to not only guarantee exponential stability but also reduce the effect of an external disturbance. It is shown that the IOSSTL can be obtained by solving the LMI, which can be easily facilitated by using some standard numerical packages. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the validity of the proposed IOSSTL.

The problems on global dissipativity and global exponential dissipativity are investigated for uncertain discrete-time neural networks with time-varying delays and general activation functions. By constructing appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals and employing linear matrix inequality technique, several new delay-dependent criteria for checking the global dissipativity and global exponential dissipativity of the addressed neural networks are established in linear matrix inequality (LMI), which can be checked numerically using the effective LMI toolbox in MATLAB. Illustrated examples are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed criteria. It is noteworthy that because neither model transformation nor free-weighting matrices are employed to deal with cross terms in the derivation of the dissipativity criteria, the obtained results are less conservative and more computationally efficient.

This paper studies the problems of global exponential robust stability of high-order hopfield neural networks with time-varying delays. By employing a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and linear matrix inequality, some criteria of global exponential robust stability for the high-order neural networks are established, which are easily verifiable and have a wider adaptive.

In this paper, the stability and periodicity of memristor-based neural networks with time-varying delays are studied. Based on linear matrix inequalities, differential inclusion theory and by constructing proper Lyapunov functional approach and using linear matrix inequality, some sufficient conditions are obtained for the global exponential stability and periodic solutions of memristor-based neural networks. Finally, two illustrative examples are given to demonstrate the results.

For nonlinear discrete-time stochastic systems, a fuzzy controller design methodology is developed in this paper subject to state variance constraint and passivity constraint. According to fuzzy model based control technique, the nonlinear discrete-time stochastic systems considered in this paper are represented by the discrete-time Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy models with multiplicative noise. Employing Lyapunov stability theory, upper bound covariance control theory, and passivity theory, some sufficient conditions are derived to find parallel distributed compensation based fuzzy controllers. In order to solve these sufficient conditions, an iterative linear matrix inequality algorithm is applied based on the linear matrix inequality technique. Finally, the fuzzy stabilization problem for nonlinear discrete ship steering stochastic systems is investigated in the numerical example to illustrate the feasibility and validity of proposed fuzzy controller design method.
