Traffic peak period detection is very important for the guidance and control of traffic flow. Most common methods for traffic peak period detection are based on data analysis. They have achieved good performance. However, the detection processes are not intuitional enough. Besides that, the accuracy of these methods needs to be improved further. From an image processing view, we introduce a concept in corner detection, sharpness, to detect the traffic peak periods in this paper. The proposed method takes the traffic peak period detection problem as a salient point detection problem and uses the image processing strategies to solve this problem. Firstly, it generates a speed curve image with the speed data. With this image, the method for detection of salient points is adopted to obtain the peak point candidates. If one candidate has the lowest speed value, this candidate is the peak point. Finally, the peak period is gotten by moving forward and backward the corresponding time of the peak point with a time interval. Experimental results show that the proposed method has achieved higher accuracy. More importantly, as the proposed method solves the traffic peak period detection problem from an image processing view, it has more intuition.

Some image processing research are restudied via CNN genes with five variables, and this include edge detection, corner detection, center point extraction and horizontal-vertical line detection. Although they were implemented with nine variables, the results of computer simulation show that the effect with five variables is identical to or better than that with nine variables.

A clinical trial was designed to evaluate the effects of diminazene aceturate and its stabiliser antipyrine on serum pseudocholinesterase (PChE) and red blood cell acetylcholinesterase (RBC AChE) in dogs with babesiosis. The trial was conducted on naturally occurring, uncomplicated cases of babesiosis (n = 20) that were randomly allocated to groups receiving a standard therapeutic dose of diminazene aceturate with antipyrine stabiliser (n = 10) or antipyrine alone (n = 10). Blood was drawn immediately before and every 15 minutes for 1 hour after treatment. Plasma PChE showed a 4 % decrease between 0 and 60 min within the treatment group (p < 0.05). No statistically significant differences were found between the treatment and control groups at any of the time intervals for PChE. There was an increase in RBC AChE activity at 15 min in the treatment group (p < 0.05). No significant differences were found between the treatment and control groups at any time interval for RBC AChE. In view of the difference in PChE, samples from additional, new cases (n = 10) of canine babesiosis were collected to identify the affect of the drug over 12 hours. No significant depression was identified over this time interval. The results suggests that the underlying mechanism in producing side-effects, when they do occur, is unlikely to be through cholinesterase depression.

The author has designed a visual workbench to realize that the rim can rotate with the workbench. Meanwhile, the linear CCD camera records the rim’s circumference. The paper has explored the measurement method of getting the rim valve hole position using machine vision. The system can calculate the position of rim-hole and control the servo motor by image processing, characteristic recognizing and measuring to locate the position of wheel-hole automatically. And the paper has verified the accuracy of the method by experiments.

In this paper, we present a distributed collaborative system assisting physicians in diagnosis when processing medical images. This is a Web-based solution since the different participants and resources are on various sites. It is collaborative because these participants (physicians, radiologists, knowledgebasesdesigners, program developers for medical image processing, etc.) can work collaboratively to enhance the quality of programs and then the quality of the diagnosis results. It is intelligent since it is a knowledge-based system including, but not only, a knowledge base, an inference engine said supervision engine and ontologies. The current work deals with the osteoporosis detection in bone radiographies. We rely on program supervision techniques that aim to automatically plan and control complex software usage. Our main contribution is to allow physicians, who are not experts in computing, to benefit from technological advances made by experts in image processing, and then to efficiently use various osteoporosis detection programs in a distributed environment.

Kata kunci: Pengesanan mata masa nyata; penempatan anak mata; pemprosesan imej; pengesanan bucu; muatan bulatan Robust, non–intrusive human eye detection problem has been a fundamental and challenging problem for computer vision area. Not only it is a problem of its own, it can be used to ease the problem of finding the locations of other facial features for recognition tasks and human–computer interaction purposes as well. Many previous works have the capability of determining the locations of the human eyes but the main task in this paper is not only a vision system with eye detection capability. Our aim is to design a real–time face tracker system and iris localization using edge point detection method indicates from image processing and circle fitting technique. As a result, our eye tracker system was successfully implemented using non–intrusive webcam with less error. Key words: Real–time face tracking; iris localization; image processing; edge detection; circle fitting

Machines are valuable assets that need to be protected from damage and failure through proper maintenance measures. This paper proposes a system that automatically monitors the running time of machines and sends notifications regarding their preventive maintenance (PM) schedules. The system core consists of a programmable logic controller (PLC) and a human machine interface (HMI). The HMI is connected to an online platform via internet connection provided by a router, so that the monitoring result can be accessed via Android smartphone or laptop/PC. This IoT-based running time monitoring system (IRTMS) will be particularly helpful in implementation at an production site that consists of multiple various machines. The PM items of a machine may vary from cleaning, changing single component, to an overhaul, each with different time interval. By using the IRTMS, the user will have an overview of the PM schedules anytime and anywhere. The preparation of material, components, or tools can be known ahead of time. For simulation purpose, a prototype is constructed by using components as used in industrial real-life condition. Four output connections are provided to simulate the simultaneous monitoring of four machines. The IRTMS prototype is tested and completely successful on doing the running time monitoring, the running time reset, the PM notifications, and the remote access for monitoring and control.
