A test procedure optimization method was proposed in this paper to improve the test efficiency of the industrial robot servo system (IRSS) to be tested on the IRSS integrated testing platform (IITP). First, an ordered sequence was used to define the IRSS test project when tested on the IITP. The ordered sequence consisted of execution subelements, which were a combination of control variable parameters of the IITP. Second, the optimization relationships among the IRSS test projects were dug out according to the IRSS test project sequences. Finally, by using the traveling salesmen problem (TSP), an optimization model was established based on the optimization relationships of the IRSS test projects, and the optimal test order of the IRSS test projects to be tested on the IITP was obtained by solving the model. A case analysis showed that the proposed method optimized the test procedure on the IITP effectively, and the test time when implementing the test on the IITP according to the optimized order was nearly 50% shorter than before optimization. The optimization effect was thus found to be significant.

Life preservers often play a vital role in ensuring passenger safety in water-related accidents, while the difficulty of donning life preservers has been repeatedly proved even in a donning test. To evaluate the influencing factors for life preserver donning tests, 109 college students and 42 villagers were chosen as subjects. A total of fourteen variables with seven categorical variables and seven continuous variables were considered as potential influencing factors. T-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA, for three or more categories) were used to judge whether grouping in categorical variables had a significant effect on the donning performance. Then all variables were offered into the stepwise linear regression (SLR) to evaluate the influential factors for life preserver donning tests. Results showed that four of fourteen variables, including gender, instruction condition, age group, and tool test time (representing the subject’s flexibility), had a significant effect on the donning performance. To evaluate the relationship between the donning performance and influencing factors, models of the retrieving time, the opening time, and the donning time were built based on the SLR analysis. The paper also highlights recommendations for modification of the donning test procedure, which helps to improve the validation and reliability of life preserver donning tests.

Abstract In this paper, taking the feeding process as a form of impulsive and considering the time-delay in fermentation process. A robust model with the time-delay system as the control variable and the time-delay system as the constraint is established. In order to solve this optimal control problem, we have propose an particle swarm optimization method to solve problem. Numerical results show that 1,3-PD yield at the terminal time increases compared with the experimental result.

Reliability of automotive parts has been one of the most interesting fields in the automotive industry. Especially small DC motor was issued because of the increasing adoption for passengers’ safety and convenience. For several years, small DC motors have been studied and some problems of a life test method were found out. The field condition was not considered enough in the old life test method. It also needed a lot of test time. For precise life estimation and accelerated life test, new life test procedure was developed based on measured field condition. First, vibration condition on vehicle and latent force on fan motor shaft were measured and correlated with each other. Second, test condition was decided by obtained data. Finally, life of fan motors was estimated by new life test method in shorter test time.

Enhancing operation efficiency of flight deck has become a hotspot because it has an important impact on the fighting capacity of the carrier–aircraft system. To improve the operation efficiency, aircraft need taxi to the destination on deck with the optimal trajectory. In this paper, a general method is proposed to solve the trajectory optimization problem for aircraft taxiing on flight deck considering that the existing methods can only deal with the problem in some specific cases. Firstly, the ground motion model of aircraft, the collision detection strategy and the constraints are included in the mathematical model. Then the principles of the chicken swarm optimization algorithm and the generality of the proposed method are explained. In the trajectory optimization algorithm, several strategies, i.e. generation of collocation points, transformation of control variable, and setting of segmented fitness function, are developed to meet the terminal constraints easier and make the search efficient. Three groups of experiments with different environments are conducted. Aircraft with different initial states can reach the targets with the minimum taxiing time, and the taxiing trajectories meet all the constraints. The reason why the general trajectory optimization method is validated in all kinds of situations is also explained.

Two important aspects of the performance of a servo system, tracking errors and contour errors, significantly affect the accuracy of industrial robots under high-speed motion. Careful tuning of the control parameters in a servo system is essential, if the risk of severe structural vibration and a large contouring error is to be avoided. In this paper, we present an overview of a method to diagnose contouring errors caused by the servo control system of an ABB IRB 1600 industrial robot by measuring the robot’s motion accuracy in a Cartesian circular shape using a double ballbar (DBB) measurement instrument. Tests were carried out at different TCP (tool centre-point) speed and trajectory radii to investigate the main sources of errors that affect circular contouring accuracy. Results show that radius size errors and out-of-roundness are significant. A simple experimental model based on statistical tests was also developed to represent and predict the radius size error. The model was evaluated by comparing its prediction capability in several experiments. An excellent error prediction capability was observed.
