Home automation system is a system that controls by the smart device using a mobile application. It can control home appliances such as light, fans, air conditions, and smart security locks, etc. Bluetooth or Wi-Fi technology will be used to control things remotely.  Many people were thinking about that technology is taking a really huge part of our lives. It does! we’re living in a modern generation where smart and intelligent systems are necessary to be there wherever we are to make our lives easier and much better, for example, we can do many things faster, better, and more accurate.

It can control home appliances like light, fans, air conditions, and smart security locks, etc. Bluetooth or Wi-Fi is used for remote control of things. Smart home is essentially how it looks: automating with such an easy touch of a button or a voice command the ability to manage things across the home. Several operations were both simple and extremely low-cost, such as setting up a light to turn on and off at the time of your moment. Others need much more money and resources, including advanced spy cameras. Some people thought that technology is taking a really huge part of our lives. The smart home is now an established area of interest and research that contributes to comfort in modern homes. With the Internet being an essential part of broad communication in modern life, IoT has allowed homes to go beyond building to interactive abodes. In many spheres of human life, the IoT has grown exponentially, including monitoring ecological factors, controlling the home and its appliances, and storing data generated by devices in the house in the cloud. Smart home includes multiple components, technologies, and devices that generate valuable data for predicting home and environment activities. This work presents the design and development of a ubiquitous, cloud-based intelligent home automation system. The system controls, monitors, and oversees the security of a home and its environment via an Android mobile application. One module controls and monitors electrical appliances and environmental factors, while another module oversees the home’s security by detecting motion and capturing images. Our work uses a camera to capture images of objects triggered by their motion being detected. To avoid false alarms, we used the concept of machine learning to differentiate between images of regular home occupants and those of an intruder. The support vector machine algorithm is proposed in this study to classify the features of the image captured and determine if it is that of a regular home occupant or an intruder before sending an alarm to the user. The design of the mobile application allows a graphical display of the activities in the house. Our work proves that machine learning algorithms can improve home automation system functionality and enhance home security. The work’s prototype was implemented using an ESP8266 board, an ESP32-CAM board, a 5 V four-channel relay module, and sensors.

This paper proposes the design of Inter of Things (IoT) based home automation system using Raspberry pi. Currently in day today’s life we can hardly find a house without a home automation system. This project is intended to construct a home automation system that uses any mobile device to control the home appliances. This home automation system is based on IoT. Home automation is very exciting field when it uses new technologies like Internet of Things (IoT). Raspberry pi is credit card size computer. Raspberry pi supports large number of peripherals. Raspberry pi is having different communication media like Ethernet port, HDMI port, USB port, Display Serial Interface, Camera Serial Interface, Bluetooth, Bluetooth low energy. It allows controlling number of home appliances simultaneously. Here local server is created on Raspberry pi. User required to use different mobile devices like smart phones, Laptops, Tablets to operate the home appliances with the help of UI created on web page.


This paper depicts a unique home automation system where its efficiency and accuracy can be improved by integrating the PIR motion sensor and google voice assistant. It comprises of Node MCU (esp8266) which is a Wi-Fi module used to transmit data over internet, electromagnetic relays, and the PIR sensor. This developed system works when there is any motion within the defined sensor range and it can also be controlled through the mobile application. Blynk application has been configured with the system so that it works flawlessly on both iOS and android devices. The developed microcontroller has been configured with the Blynk server which makes the home appliances work remotely and eliminates the need for a dedicated PC server. The final prototype is also configured with google assistant so that the relays can be triggered with the voice too and this system has been successfully developed, and the working prototype has been tested with various test cases.

The smart home automation system is designed to conveniently manage and monitor household appliances and lighting fixtures remotely, to save time and to use resources effectively. It is a control system for allowing access to home automation devices. The automation devices include lights, fan, camera and doors. It even enhances the main features of the project to control the home appliances from anywhere as remotely. With the camera module, continuous surveillance and protection of the home is accomplished. A significant improvement is achieved in utility costs by an optimal use of energy. Using inexpensive electronic and interactive tools, this initiative can be applied, making it economically, physically and operationally feasible. Basically it involves controlling everything remotely via a visual interface and mobile application. The automation system employs the use of MQTT protocol in order to secure the transmitted device based information to and from in the network. The defense against Man in the Middle attack (MITM) is the main focus of our automation system. The routed messages are checked at the intermediate hub to check for the occurrence of MITM based DoS attacks through manual reset points. .

The project is mainly concentrated on IOT based home automation using raspberry PI wireless home automation system using IOT helps us to control basic home appliances automatically through internet from anywhere around the world by using computers or mobiles. Now coming to this project the main objective is presenting a proposed system for smart home automation technique with Raspberry Pi using IOT and it is done by integrating cameras and motion sensors into a web application. To design this system, we are using a Raspberry Pi module with computer vision techniques.

This paper aim is to develop and design a Home automation using Arduino with Bluetooth module. Home automation system gives a simple and reliable technology with Android application. Home appliances like fan, Bulb, AC, automatic door lock are controlled by Home automation system using Arduino Uno with Bluetooth module. The paper mainly focuses on the monitor and control of smart home by Andorid phone and provide a security based smart home, when the people does not present at home. This paper motive is controlled home appliances in smart home with user friendly, design at low cost, simple installation.

This paper reviews basically about Bluetooth based home automation system. It is controlled by PIC microcontroller. Home automation can be defined as the ability to perform tasks automatically and monitor or change status remotely. These include tasks such as turning off lights in the room, locking doors via smartphone, automate air condition systems and appliances which help in the kitchen. Now a days several wireless devices are available such as Bluetooth, Zigbee and GSM. Since Bluetooth is low in cost than the other two and hence is used more. In this paper we have described the methods of automating different home appliances using Bluetooth and pic microcontroller. Different sensors are involved in this system to advance and make it smarter. Sensors such as temperature sensor, liquid sensors, humidity sensor etc. can be used.
