Anthaxia (Anthaxia) simandli sp. nov., a new endemic species from Iran is described, together with the hitherto unknown male of Anthaxia (Anthaxia) magnifica Bílý, 1983. New synonymy of Anthaxia (Anthaxia) mancatula Abeille, 1900 = Anthaxia (Anthaxia) intermedia Obenberger, 1913 syn. nov. is proposed, and a lectotype for A. mancatula is designated. All species are illustrated, and comments on their bionomy, distribution, and taxonomic position are given, as well as on the current state of the Anthaxia (Anthaxia) manca (Linnaeus, 1767) species-group in Iran.

The Anthaxia (Anthaxia) midas Kiesenwetter, 1857 species-group is defined and revised. A new species from Turkey, A. (A.) cebecii sp. nov., is described and compared to its most similar species. A. midas oberthuri Schaefer, 1938 is elevated to the rank of species, and a lectotype is designated. A. (A.) spathuligera Obenberger, 1924 and A. (A.) midas muelleri Obenberger, 1925 are reconfirmed synonyms of A. midas Kiesenwetter, 1857.All species of the new species-group are illustrated, including the hitherto unknown male of A. (A.) patsyae Baiocchi, 2008, all type specimens and original data labels. In addition to diagnostic characters, informations on the distribution, biology and taxonomic position of each species are also presented, together with a short definition of the new species-group, and a key to its species.

Two new genera and nine new species of the feather mite subamily Pterodectinae (Proctophyllodidae) are described from passerines and woodpeckers in Vietnam: Dolichodectes furcilobus sp. n. from Copsychus malabaricus (Scopoli) (Muscicapidae), Montesauria abroscopi sp. n. from Abroscopus superciliaris (Blyth) (Cettiidae), M. macronoi sp. n. from Macronous gularis (Horsfield) (Timaliidae), M. pellornei sp. n. from Pellorneum ruficeps Swainson (Pellorneidae), M. phylloscopi sp. n. from Phylloscopus ricketti (Slater) (Phylloscopidae), M. seicerci sp. n. from Seicercus valentini (Hartert) (Phylloscopidae), Picipterodectes sasiae gen. n., sp. n. from Sasia ochracea Hodgson (Picidae), Proterothrix alcippeae sp. n. from Alcippe rufogularis (Mandelli) (Pellorneidae), and Vireodectes erporni gen. n., sp. n. from Erpornis zantholeuca (Blyth) (Vireonidae). The new genera Picipterodectes gen. n. and Vireodectes gen. n. belong to the Proterothrix generic group uniting archaic genera in the tribe Pterodectini. Brief comments on the current state of systematics of the genera Dolichodectes Park and Atyeo, 1971, Montesauria Oudemans, 1905 and Proterothrix Gaud, 1968 are provided. A new species group macronoi is established in the genus Montesauria.

In the recent annotated catalogue of the Turkish Plecoptera, the fauna of Anatolia are considered remarkably rich with 32 micro-endemic species currently recorded (Darilmaz et al. 2016). The major hot spot is the Pontus, the eastern Black Sea region of Turkey. Nearly half of these micro-endemic stonefly species are only known from this region. The eastern subregion of the Pontus has a direct connection with the Caucasian stonefly fauna. This subregion even has an endemic species group of Leuctra Stephens, 1836, presently including four known species (Vinçon & Sivec 2001).

A new endemic species of Amaranthus—Amaranthus neei—from Mexico is described, illustrated, and compared to the putatively related species. A. neei is known from the Valley of Mexico (South of Hidalgo, Mexico city, and State of Mexico), Michoacán, Puebla, Veracruz, and Chiapas. The new species is a monoecious herb characterized by its long, pungent, erect or recurvate, bracts and bracteoles, (2–)3–5 minute pistillate sepals or absent, ovate, oblong to linear, apex acute to obtuse, and fruits circumscissile, irregularly dehiscent to indehiscent. Infrageneric circumscription of A. neei is discussed together with its critical taxonomic position within the currently accepted infrageneric classification of Amaranthus.

AbstractThe Onthophagus anthracinus Harold, 1873 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Scarabaeinae: Onthophagini) species complex of the Onthophagus landolti Harold, 1880 species group is established and analysed. A new species, O. etlaensis, is described from this group. Onthophagus mextexus Howden and Cartwright, 1970 is considered a valid species and O. knulli Howden and Cartwright, 1963 is placed in synonymy with O. durangoensis Balthasar, 1939 new synonymy. A key for the O. anthracinus species complex is presented along with photographs and illustrations of the main taxonomic differences. An update of the O. landolti species group is presented.

The Stigmatophora palmata (Moore, 1878) species-group is reviewed. A new species, S. danieli Volynkin, S. -Y. Huang & Dubatolov, sp. nov. is described for the Chinese populations previously identified by authors as S. palmata. Stigmatophora palmata form inanis Seitz, 1913 is upgraded to species level: S. inanis Seitz, 1913, stat. nov. A new synonymy is established: S. inanis Seitz, 1913 = S. palliduspalmata N. Singh, Kirti & Joshi, 2016, syn. nov. A lectotype for Lyclene palmata Moore, 1878 is designated. The distribution patterns of S. palmata and S. hainanensis Fang, 1991 are clarified. Adults and male and female genitalia of all species are illustrated.
