Direct and Indirect Associations of Personality With Audiovisual Technology Acceptance Through General Self-Efficacy

Increasing consensus among information systems researchers suggests that personality accounts for the effective use of several technologies, yet less is known about the process through which personality affects user perceptions of technology acceptance. This study, therefore, examined whether personality is associated with student perceptions of audiovisual technology acceptance, and whether general self-efficacy mediates this association. In total, 244 students completed an online survey including measures of personality, general self-efficacy, and perceptions of audiovisual technology acceptance. Canonical correlation uncovered significant associations between personality and student beliefs about technology use. Results further revealed that general self-efficacy fully mediated the effects of openness to experience and neuroticism on Perceived Ease of Use, whereas the association between agreeableness and Perceived Usefulness was partially mediated by self-efficacy beliefs. The fact that personality influences students’ perceptions of technology acceptance both directly and indirectly should not remain unnoticed, especially when designing intervention programs to enhance their academic performance.

Although most universities and educators are relying on implementing various technological tools in the curriculum, acceptance of such tools among students is still not sufficient. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) has been widely used by researchers to test user’s acceptance of technology in business, education and other domains. This research study is an attempt that tests the integration of TAM and user satisfaction in the educational field. It particularly investigates students’ acceptance to use MyMathLab, a technological tool, in university math classes in the Middle East. Structural equation modelling with various constructs was used. Findings support the theoretical model showing the great influence of user satisfaction on perceived ease of use and subjective norm on behavioural intention. The findings of this study also demonstrate that self-efficacy, user satisfaction, subjective norms, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and students’ attitude constructs all have a positive impact on students’ behavioural intentions to adopt and use technological tools in a mathematics class room. Findings of this research have greater implications for educators and students worldwide.

This study aims to investigate e-commerce adoption using extended technology acceptance model (TAM) by adding self-efficacy and anxiety. The research samples included 233 undergraduate students were collected using an online survey form distributed through chat groups and social media. The collected data were analysed using partial least square-structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) to investigate the proposed hypotheses in the model. This study found that self-efficacy has no impact towards perceived usefulness, self-efficacy has positive significant impact towards perceived ease of use, anxiety has no impact on both perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness has positive significant impact towards attitude, perceived ease of use has no impact towards attitude, perceived ease of use has positive significant impact on perceived usefulness, perceived usefulness has no impact towards e-commerce adoption, perceived ease of use has positive significant impact towards e-commerce adoption, and attitude has a positive significant impact towards e-commerce adoption. These findings further confirmed that TAM not only could be used to predict e-ticketing, e-learning, e-payment, and e-commerce purchase adoption but also e-commerce entrepreneurship. This study also further confirmed that the relationship between extended variable such as self-efficacy and anxiety with TAM variables might vary according to where the investigation was being held.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kepuasan pengguna dan manfaat dari penggunaan OpenSID yang ditujukan kepada perangkat kelurahan. Kerangka kerja yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu  Technology Acceptance Model sebagai alat untuk mengukur penerimaan kelayakan suatu teknologi. Technology Acceptance Model menggunakan 7 indikator yaitu self efficacy (kemanjuran diri), complexity (kerumitan), lack of time (keterbatasan waktu), perceived usefulness (manfaat yang dirasakan), perceived ease of use (kemudahan pengguna), behavioral intention of use (minat perilaku pengguna), actual technology use (penggunaan teknologi sesungguhnya). Penelitian ini melakukan analisis penerimaan OpenSID di area rural dan di area urban. Untuk area pedesaan maka dilakukan di 8 (delapan) desa yang berada di kecamatan Modoinding, yakni desa Sinisir, desa Makaaroyen, desa Palelon, desa Kakenturan, desa Pinasungkulan, desa Linelean dan desa Wulurmahatus. Untuk area urban, dilakukan di 9 kelurahan yang berada di wilayah kecamatan Amurang Barat dan Amurang; yakni kelurahan Kawangkoan-bawah, kelurahan Rumoong-bawah, kelurahan Buyungon, kelurahan Ranoiapo, kelurahan Uwuran 1, kelurahan Uwuran 2, kelurahan Lewet dan kelurahan Bitung. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa perangkat desa dan aparat kelurahan yang pernah menggunakan OpenSID  mengakui bahwa OpenSID dapat membantu aparat untuk mendapatkan informasi yang tepat. Meskipun diakui bahwa OpenSID memberikan manfaat dalam tugas dan pekerjaan, namun membutuhkan waktu yang lama dalam mempelajari OpenSID.Kata kunci— Desa, Kelurahan, OpenSID, Model Penerimaan Teknologi

The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that shape behavioural intentions of customers towards the adoption of payment banks in India. The conceptual framework of study is based upon integration of technology acceptance model with initial trust, facilitating conditions and social influence. Further, the study tests the moderating role of age, income and self-efficacy on the relationships between dependent variable and associated predicted variable. A total of 507 responses were collected from the state of Punjab (India), using convenient sampling technique and were analysed using the structural equation modelling (SEM). The results revealed that perceived ease of use had the highest impact on the behavioural intentions, followed by initial trust and social influence. Facilitating conditions and perceived usefulness showed lower impact on the behavioural intentions towards the adoption of payment banks. Also, moderation analysis revealed that self-efficacy moderates the relation of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness with behavioural intentions. Results imply that marketers should collaborate with developers to provide the customers with easy-to-operate solutions along with robust customer support mechanism to escalate the adoption intention of those having lower self-efficacy levels.

<p>This study aims to examine the factors influencing the acceptability of SIMDA in the Batu Municipal Government. The research model used the <em>Technology Acceptance Model</em> (TAM), which add external construct from D&amp;M success model of information system and other construct namely the <em>commitment of management</em>, <em>social influence</em> and the Individually influence such as <em>computer self-efficacy</em> and <em>personal innovativenes</em>. This research employed census sampling method. The samples are all official of in financial department who use SIMDA. Results of the research showed that <em>perceived usefulness</em> was affected by <em>management commitment</em>, <em>social influence</em>, <em>information quality, system quality</em>, <em>personal innovativeness</em>, and<em> perceived ease of use</em>. In addition, <em>Computer self-efficacy</em>, and <em>personal innovativeness</em> influenced to <em>perceived ease of use</em>. Furthermore, the <em>acceptance SIMDA</em> was influenced <em>perceived usefulness</em> and <em>perceived ease of use</em>. The e-commerce industry has the potential to be one of the drivers of the domestic economy. One of the impacts of the advancement of e-commerce is the emergence of many online-based marketplaces or so-called e-marketplaces. However, a lot of these online marketplaces sell 90% imported products. In addition, the outbreak of Covid-19 in Indonesia has prompted the government to establish several policies that have significantly reduced MSME performance by up to 70-100%. This study aimed to provide an empirical analysis of the influence of factors based on the Technology of Acceptance Model (TAM) approach, namely e-marketplace self-efficacy, complexity, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude towards using, behavioral intention to use, and actual technology use in e-marketplaces. The sample consisted of MSMEs in East Java, especially those engaged in the food and beverage industry sector with ready-to-eat processed food products whose business activities use the Shopee e-marketplace application platform. This is an online shopping marketplace focused on mobile platforms. There were 150 respondents. The Structural Equation Model (SEM) was used. E-marketplace self-efficacy, complexity, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude towards using, behavioral intention to use, and actual technology use in e-marketplaces all had positive effects on each other. This showed that a system that offers convenience will improve behavior, habits, and performance for MSMEs in using e-marketplace activities. The use of Information Technology (IT) in the banking sector has seen a phenomenal growth in India. For its effective use and implementation, employees' acceptance and the consequent use of IT are important. Davis' Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) (1989) explains users' acceptance of electronic systems. By applying the extended TAM approach to this study, the authors aim to uncover various factors that affect the attitude and acceptance of bank employees towards CBS. The TAM model identifies perceived usefulness (PU), and perceived ease of use (PEU) as impacting attitude towards IT and behavioural intention. The model is extended by identifying social influence, computer self-efficacy, and technological facility as factors affecting perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. The target respondents for this study were bank employees from the public and private sectors banks (State Bank of India, Union Bank, Bank of India, ICICI Bank, and Axis Bank) situated in the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. Measurement items applied in this study were an adaptation of previously validated measures or were developed on the basis of a literature review. Responses were analysed using the 7-point Likert Scale that ranged from (1) ‘strongly disagree’ to (7) ‘strongly agree’. To test the reliability of the measures, a pilot study was conducted with 20 randomly chosen employees and modified scales. Structural equation modelling was used to analyse the data. Overall, the findings suggest that extended TAM variables positively influence the intention and usage behaviour through PU and PEU. That is, social influence enhances perceived usefulness; and computer self-efficacy and technology facility influence the perceived ease of use. Again, perceived ease of use significantly influences perceived usefulness which in turn has significant effect on behavioural intention and usage behaviour. Social influence of superiors was the prominent determinant of perceived usefulness of the CBS technology. Hence the role of managers as effective communicators is heightened especially in conveying the benefits of using IT and in turn achieving organizational goals.

The issues of gender disparity in the usage of information technology (IT), as well as self-efficacy, have received considerable interest and attention among researchers in recent times. Prior research has identified that gender differences and self-efficiency affect the attitude towards adoption and use of technology. In general, females are believed to be disadvantaged compared to their male counterparts with respect to IT usage and acceptance. The reasoning is that males are mostly more exposed to technology and tend to have more proficiency with such tools. Very little information exists in the extant literature regarding perceptions in developing parts of the world, including Africa. In this chapter, an empirical evaluation of the issues in the context of e-banking will be made in Lagos (Nigeria) and its environs. An extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) will be used as a conceptual framework to guide the discourse. Data analysis was done on SPSS 15.0. The study’s results showed that gender differences moderated the acceptance of e-banking of users in the research context. Namely, computer self efficacy and perceived ease of use were of concerns to females, but less so for their male counterparts. Also, perceived usefulness of e-banking is discovered to be the most influencing factor for male users. The study’s implications for research and practice are discussed in the chapter.

This study was conducted to investigate e-learning acceptance and factors influencing higher institution students in Brunei Darussalam. Among the factors involved in this study were perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, self-efficacy, technology availability, and usage and intention to use. Technology acceptance models (TAM) were used as a basis for the study and for hypothesizing the effects of such variables on the use of e-learning. The findings of this study found that there is significant influence of self-efficacy to perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness while perceived ease of use has direct impact to perceived usefulness and perceived usefulness has influence on intention to use towards e-learning systems.

The emerging online economy in recent years has facilitated the rapid growth of e-commerce, such as Internet bank, e-wallet, and electronic bidding. Network fellowship auction is a collective effort by people who network and pool their money together by Internet in order to invest in and support efforts initiated by other people or organizations. Network fellowship auction has replaced conventional fellowship auction by offering a new safer and faster financial instrument. This research investigated the determinants of network fellowship auction user acceptance, including consumer perceived risk, perceived value, computer self-efficacy, and product involvement. An online survey was used with a sample of 446 respondents. Structural equation models (SEM) were used to examine hypotheses in the theoretical framework. The results showed that consumer perceived risk substantially negatively influenced perceived ease of use and intention; consumer perceived value positively influenced perceived usefulness; consumer computer self-efficacy positively influenced perceived ease of use. Additionally, consumer perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and product involvement positively influenced consumer intention.
