The conditions for high performance have changed considerably over the last few years. Athletes must spend more time training and competing, devote a lot of time to mental, physical and nutritional professionals and continue to respond to some constraints such as studying, spending time with their families, friends and quality of life. In this context and based on the work of Rosa, we wonder about the capacity of elite athletes to combine all these constraints, namely to manage the acceleration in their pace of life, in order to be able to achieve always more and better in the same time unit. To address this issue, we interviewed 42 French high-level athletes who train at the National Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance (INSEP). Results show that to suit their goals, athletes implement arrangement and adjustment strategies aimed at making the time they have wholly useful and efficient. This time constraint puts athletes in a perpetual state of tension, on the verge of a good or poor life. The paper shows how the question of time, and particularly the acceleration of pace of life, is vital for modern sporting performance.

A key aspect of work processes in service sector firms is the interconnection between tasks and performance. Relational coordination can play an important role in addressing the issues of coordinating organizational activities due to high level of interdependence complexity in service sector firms. Research has primarily supported the aspect that well devised high performance work systems (HPWS) can intensify organizational performance. There is a growing debate, however, with regard to understanding the “mechanism” linking HPWS and performance outcomes. Using relational coordination theory, this study examines a model that examine the effects of subsets of HPWS, such as motivation, skills and opportunity enhancing HR practices on relational coordination among employees working in reciprocal interdependent job settings. Data were gathered from multiple sources including managers and employees at individual, functional and unit levels to know their understanding in relation to HPWS and relational coordination (RC) in 218 bank branches in Pakistan. Data analysis via structural equation modelling, results suggest that HPWS predicted RC among officers at the unit level. The findings of the study have contributions to both, theory and practice.

The classical planar Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors (MOSFET) is fabricated by oxidation of a semiconductor namely Silicon. In this generation, an advanced technique called 3D system architecture FETs, are introduced for high performance and low power quality of devices. Based on the limitations of Short Channel Effect (SCE), Silicon (Si) FET cannot be scaled under 10nm. Hence various performing measures like methods, principles, and geometrics are done to upscale the semiconductor. CMOS using alternate channel materials like GE and III-Vs on substrates is a highly anticipated technique for developing nanowire structures. By considering these issues, in this paper, we developed a simulation model that provides accurate results basing on Gate layout and multi-gate NW FET's so that the scaling can be increased few nanometers long and performance limits gradually increases. The model developed is SILVACO that tests the action of FET with different gate oxide materials.

Performance is measured and done, the quality represents a key element to achieve the performance, especially customer service quality. In response to the pressure of globalization, the market increasingly competitive and volatile market dynamics that, many organizations actively seeking ways to add value to their services and improve their quality of service. Organizations usually tend to make their operations efficient priority. This process begins with the assessment of nevojave customers, their requirements and assessing the performance of domestic human resources in organization and performance depends on the outcome of the estimated earlier. Since this process can proceed in different directions. The causes of these results may be the lack of information and support of high-level management, performance standards unclear, inaccuracies assessors, very large number of forms to be completed and the use of software for the opposite purpose.

The paper is about how the application is maintained and monitored using Azure CI pipeline. Maintaining and monitoring the quality of the software plays an important role in company’s growth and performance. This is achieved using DevOps. Few years back agile methodology was playing a major role in the industry, software were deployed in monthly, quarterly or annual basis, which is time consuming. However, now industries are moving towards DevOps methodology where in the software deployed multiple times a day. This methodology provides the organization to constantly and reliably add new features and automatically deploy them across various platforms or environment in order to gain high performance and quality assurance products. Continuous integration and Continuous delivery/ Continuous deployment are the pillars of DevOps. Continuous integration, Continuous delivery and Continuous deployment are the continuous software development practices of industry. By automating the build, test and deployment of software, CI/CD bridges the space between development and operation teams. This paper also concentrates on how the Test Driven Development features of .Net technologies supports the quality maintenance and monitoring of the application.

At the present time, with the high reliability and performance of computer hardware, computer systems applied in any field must be judged more by the quality of the software provided. Thus it is highly relevant in an investigation of the use of computers in a field such as animal production, to concentrate on aspects of the software.Software provides the computer with the ability to obey instructions and to do as the user wishes. However, before arriving at these ‘machine instructions’ a number of steps have to be covered. First, it is essential to design the software — that is, to establish the requirements to be achieved on the computer. This design stage is followed by the implementation phase, in which the requirements as stated in English are transformed into such instructions as the machine can read and obey. The final phase is testing, in which it must be determined whether the requirements have been met, and to modify the design and iterate until the performance is satisfactory.Software in general can be divided into three classes — systems, utility and applications software. The systems software drives the machine and its associated peripherals such as a VDU and printer. The systems software also includes a file system for organization of the data on the relevant storage media (floppy disks, cartridges, magnetic tape). Also considered part of the systems software are the assembler, interpreters and compilers for high level languages such as BASIC and FORTRAN and for programming aids such as DEBUGGERS. Systems software is normally supplied with the computer and needs to be evaluated along with the hardware by any prospective purchaser of a computer system.

Many large-scale online applications enable thousands of users to access their services simultaneously. However, the overall service quality of an online application usually degrades when the number of users increases because, traditionally, centralized server architecture does not scale well. In order to provide better Quality of Service (QoS), service architecture such as Grid computing can be used. This type of architecture offers service scalability by utilizing heterogeneous hardware resources. In this thesis, a novel design of Grid computing middleware, Massively Multi-user Online Platform (MMOP), which integrates the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) structured overlays, is proposed. The objectives of this proposed design are to offer scalability and system design flexibility, simplify development processes of distributed applications, and improve QoS by following specified policy rules. A Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) has been created to validate the functionality and performance of MMOP. The simulation results have demonstrated that MMOP is a high performance and scalable servicing and computing middleware.

Purpose The Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) has still been found to offer services that do not comply with standards. The purpose of this paper is to ascertain competency in terms of the knowledge and skills of the EPI staff. Design/methodology/approach The research design was a mixed-methods approach. The quantitative method employed a questionnaire survey on the perceived competency of 382 EPI staffs from six regions in Thailand. This was paired alongside of the qualitative method, where four staffs were in-depth interviewed, and the performance of the EPI staffs was observed. Findings The overall perceived competency in the work of immunization was at a high level. A comparative analysis between the quantitative and qualitative data showed findings in three categories. First, the perception of competency was high, and performance conformed to standards in the preparation of the setting and equipment for providing the service; second, the perception of competency was high, but in the performance of their work the participants did not comply completely with standards for scheduling the immunization appointments or for vaccine storage; and third, the perception of competency was either moderate or low, and the performance of work was inadequate for vaccine estimations, registering reports, and dealing with adverse events following immunization. Originality/value The findings showed a gap between perception of knowledge-and-skill competency and actual practice in EPI service. Effective cooperation among involved organizations in order to improve the standard of performance in expanding the quality of EPI service provision in Thailand is suggested.

This chapter discusses the challenges high-end storage solutions will have with future demands. Due to heavy end-user demands for real-time processing of data access, this need must be addressed by high-end storage solutions. But what type of high-end storage solutions address this need and are suitable to ensure high performance write and retrieval of data in real-time from high- end storage infrastructures, including read and write access from digital archives? For this reason, this chapter reviews a few disk and tape solutions as well as combined disk- and tape storage solutions. The review on the different storage solutions does not focus on compliance of data storage management, but on available commercial high-end systems, addressing scalability and performance requirements both for online storage and archives. High level requirements aid in identifying high-end storage system features and support Extreme Scale infrastructures for the amount of data that high-end storage systems will need to manage in future.
