In traditional optical microsopy the uniformity of off-axis illumination is poor. In this paper we propose a novel LED optical system for near-field illumination in microscopy. The system includes a LED light source, an optical collimator and a freeform, micro-reflective lens array. The Monte Carlo method is used to simulate the system. The simulation results show that the illumination uniformity can be better than 85% in the observation zone. The optical system can be put at the side of the main optical axis of the microscope. The illumination uniformity is not varied when the observation distance changes so it has good stablilty.

After the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi NPP, the attention of the scientific community is riveted on how the consequences are being eliminated. Removing corium – a lava-like resolidified mixture of nuclear fuel with other structural elements of the reactor – remains the most difficult task, the solution of which can take several decades. It is extremely important to exclude the occurrence of any emergency processes during the removal of corium. The purpose of this work was to solve a coordinated hydrodynamic and neutronic problem characterized by a large number of randomly oriented and irregularly located corium particles in water as part of the development of a benchmark for this class of problems. Monte Carlo-based precision codes were used to perform a neutronic analysis. The positions of corium particles were determined from the numerical simulation results. The analysis results obtained using the codes involved showed good agreement for all the states considered. It was shown that the modern neutronic codes based on the Monte Carlo method successfully cope with the geometric formation and solution of the problem with a nontrivial distribution of corium particles in water. The results of the study can be used to justify the safety of corium handling procedures, including its extraction from a damaged power unit.

A general optimization methodology for the optimal design of robotic manipulators is presented and illustrated by its application to a harvesting manipulator. The optimization design of the manipulator framework and structure is made according to the tomato' s growth circumstance and distribution space. The workspace of the manipulator is carried out and simulated through the Monte Carlo method. Simulation results show that the manipulator with 4 degree- of- freedoms meets the expectations for picking tomato in greenhouse. The rationality of the structure and frame is validated.

AbstractThe results of the simulation of plasma fluxes onto the surface of rotating substrates during the combustion of a vacuum arc of the Cr–Ti–Mo cathode system are presented. The structure and composition of the arc-PVD Ti_0.15Cr_0.74Mo_0.11N_0.84 coatings are experimentally studied. The numerical simulation results of the coating structures based on experimental data were analyzed. The possibility of the simulation of the structure of multilayer, multicomponent coatings and the concentration distribution of chemical elements and its components is shown by calculating the plasma fluxes using the Monte Carlo method.

In order to improve the performance of traditional on-called Anti-submarine, the method of combining the towed sonar and helicopter deployment with traditional buoy arrays for multi-base searching is proposed. Combining the acoustics principle and the actual movement characteristics of warships and helicopters, model of naval movement and multi-base passive circular buoy arrays, square buoy arrays, and triangle buoy arrays deployed by a helicopter were established. The Monte Carlo method was used to simulate and analyse the effect of the initial distance from the call point, the initial position of the submarine, the speed of the submarine economy, the size parameters of the float array and the number of deployments on the multi-base search performance under each formation. The simulation results show that the search performance of the three multi-base arrays decreases with the increase of the initial distance, the initial position of the submarine, and the speed of the submarine economy; the circular multi-base array has the best search performance, and the appropriate deployment radius and the number of passive buoys to be deployed can be selected according to different search requirements and actual operational conditions. This method is suitable for on-called anti-submarine within a certain distance, and has certain military significance for anti-submarine warfare.

Roses are one of the most popular types of plants in the community. The sale of roses at the flower shop of 5 siblings is increasingly in demand. Identifying the increase in sales is important in analyzing sales progress. At the present time the seller can only see a manual increase in sales that are most in demand. This study aims to determine predictions of the increase in sales of rose flowers with a monte carlo simulation accurately and accurately. The data that will be processed in this study in the last 2 years, namely 2018 and 2019, rose plants obtained at the 5 Brothers Flower Shop in Solok City. There are several types of roses in the predicted sales level. Then the data will be converted into the probability distribution into cumulative frequency and followed by generating random numbers so that they can determine random numbers. Next, we will group the boundary intervals of the random numbers that have been obtained and continue with the simulation process so that the simulation results and percentage accuracy are obtained using the Monte Carlo method. The results of this study on data processing from 2019 to 2020 have an accuracy of 90%. So this research is very appropriate in identifying the increase in sales for the following year. The design of this system determines the amount of increased sales of goods using the monte carlo method in a flower shop of 5 siblings. Monte Carlo simulations can be used to identify specific sales increases. The results obtained are quite accurate using the Monte Carlo method.

Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) is a method to conserve the structures and monitor their stress and strain situation. Natural disasters, significantly earthquake could damage the water supply systems, including water tanks. The earthquake could conclude cavitation and water sloshing inside the underground water tank. On the other hand, it can cause human tragedy economically, socially, and ecologically. Therefore, useful and essential measures for repairing and utilizing the underground water tanks after the earthquake should be considered. This research aims to monitor the underground storage tanks subject to near-field and far-field earthquakes, considering the cavitation effect. In this article, the effect of earthquakes on the underground water tanks, considering the seismic behavior and cavitation effect of the underground tank, will be considered. For considering seismic behavior on the storage tanks and their reaction, the ANSYS software has been used to simulate and model them via the finite element method. After that, the prone places to the cavitation wherever the pressures are minus will be detected by the Monte Carlo method. The cavitation effect statistics were examined, and their placement is compared with the results obtained from the Monte Carlo method. The MATLAB codes have been used to make decisions for optimal smart sensor placement via the Monte-Carlo method. Moreover, to decrease the analysis time, the comparison method is taken into account. Finally, underground water tanks were loaded subjected to near-field and far-field earthquakes. The finite element result will be analyzed via the Monte Carlo method, and the best places for installing the smart sensors will be proposed.

The article has considered the calculation of the unified glare rating (UGR) based on the luminance spatial-angular distribution (LSAD). The method of local estimations of the Monte Carlo method is proposed as a method for modeling LSAD. On the basis of LSAD, it becomes possible to evaluate the quality of lighting by many criteria, including the generally accepted UGR. UGR allows preliminary assessment of the level of comfort for performing a visual task in a lighting system. A new method of "pixel-by-pixel" calculation of UGR based on LSAD is proposed.
