The goals of the research were to inform whether the theory of planned behavior (TPB) is a valid model to explain Indonesian preservice teachers’ (PSTs) use of information and communication technology (UICT) during teaching practices, to report best factor affecting PSTs’ UICT during teaching practices, and to elaborate differences regarding UICT during teaching practices in terms of demographic information, gender, major, university, and information and communication technology (ICT)-based courses. The sample of this study was 1,133 PSTs from three Indonesian universities who completed a 24-item printed questionnaire of four constructs: behavioral beliefs (BB), normative beliefs (NB), control beliefs (CB), and UICT. Using partial least square–structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), the results informed that the TPB is a valid model to help explain Indonesian PSTs’ UICT during teaching practices. All constructs (BB, NB, and CB) significantly predict UICT during teaching practices where NB is reported to be the strongest predictor (β = .354). There are no significant differences in terms of genders and ICT-based courses; however, significant differences are indicated in terms of majors and universities.

Ecotourism is the combination of ecosystem and tourism. Ecosystem tourism includes travel to destinations where flora, fauna, and cultural heritage are the primary attractions. Present study wants to establish the link between knowledge sharing, information and communication technology (ICT) and ecotourism performance with mediation of tourist attraction and digital management system among employees of ecotourism provider companies in Ranong province of Thailand. Data is collected through questionnaire survey method and via dropdown technique. Partial Least Square (PLS) is used in this study for data analysis. Results indicate that knowledge sharing related to ecotourism and ICT has positive significant impact on ecotourism performance and on tourist attraction and digital management system respectively. Tourist attraction has positive significant impact on ecotourism performance but not mediate the relation. Digital management system mediates the relation and also has the positive significant impact on ecotourism performance. Practitioners should focus on knowledge sharing variable, ICT and digital management system for increasing the ecotourism performance among ecotourism provider companies in Ranong province of Thailand.

The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the teaching and learning process has been the subject of extensive research in the past few decades. Many studies have discussed the benefits of ICT for teachers and learners. However, little is known about the main factors that influence teachers’ attitudes toward the use of ICT in their teaching practices. This study aimed to explore the attitudes of secondary school EFL teachers in the Western District of Chlef toward ICT use in Algeria. Additionally, the study attempted to investigate the relationship between teachers’ computer attitudes and five independent variables: personal characteristics, computer attributes, cultural perceptions, computer competence, and computer access. Mixed methods research was used to combine both quantitative and qualitative research methods. A questionnaire and semi-structured interview were used in order to collect the data. Both descriptive and inferential statistics as well as content analysis were conducted to analyse the data. The findings indicated that EFL teachers held positive attitudes toward ICT in education. There were statistically significant positive correlations between teachers’ attitudes toward ICT and the five aforementioned independent variables. It was also found that age and academic qualification had negatively correlated with attitudes. The results of this study give meaningful insights for educational practitioners and policy-makers in relation to the implementation of ICT for teaching and learning in the classroom. Finally, the study presented some implications for policy and practice and recommendations for further research that will enhance teachers’ use of ICT in their teaching practices.

Authentic leadership and school culture are essential factors influenced the acceptability of information and communication technology (ICT) for school management. This study aims to determine the effect of authentic leadership on the acceptance of ICT for school management. This study was conducted using a casual survey with proportional random sampling technique. A total 191 respondents were agreed to join in this study. Data were analyzed using path analysis with Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. The results of this study showed that authentic leadership has a positive and significant impact on ICT acceptance. In conclusion, authentic leadership influenced directly and indirectly perceptions of ICT use, easy use, attitude to use, and actual ICT.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) engagement, as a multidimensional construct, plays an increasingly important role in education. The main purpose of this research was to explore the effects of ICT engagement factors on science performance across Singapore and Turkey conditional to the sufficient degree of measurement invariance of ICT engagement scale. The multi-group confirmatory factor analysis results demonstrated strong factorial invariance of ICT engagement scale across Singapore and Turkey, so we were able to use ICT engagement scale to meaningful and valid comparisons between these countries. After obtaining measurement invariance, a multi-group structural equation modeling was used for the comparison of the effects of ICT engagement factors on student’s performance of science between these two countries. While interest in ICT, perceived ICT competence and perceived autonomy in using ICT have significant positive direct effect on science performance in both countries, the direct effect of social relatedness in using ICT on science performance is negative in both Singapore and Turkey. Also, when compared with Singapore, the effects of all ICT engagement constructs on student’s performance are higher in Turkey. From the study’s qualitative analysis, 5 latent variables and 21 observed variables concerning complex problem-solving (CPS) skills were identified and subsequently used in a questionnaire on a sample of 214 Thai education professionals teaching information and communication technology (ICT)-related student teachers in one of 31 Thai Rajabhat (teaching) Universities. Goodness-of-fit and descriptive statistical analysis (mean and standard deviation) were analysed by using IBM® Statistical Package for the Social Sciences® for Windows version 21, while the second-order confirmatory factor analysis used LISREL 9.10. The results revealed that the educators perceived information literacy (1.00), analytical thinking (0.96), self-control (0.93), knowledge application (0.90) and planning ability (0.85) as the most important for the student teachers’ CPS skills. Moreover, the results revealed that each teacher’s opinion on CPS skill indicators was at a ‘high agreement’ level. Therefore, it suggested that the results can be used by Thailand’s Ministry of Education and other ICT-related education agencies in developing CPS skill programmes for Thai student teachers.     Keywords: CPS, ICT, Information literacy, preservice teachers, Thailand

BACKGROUND The literature has noted the need to use more advanced methods and models to evaluate physicians’ outcomes in the shared health care model that electronic health (eHealth) proposes. OBJECTIVE The goal of our study was to design and evaluate a predictive multidimensional model of the outcomes of eHealth usage by European physicians. METHODS We used 2012-2013 survey data from a sample of 9196 European physicians (general practitioners). We proposed and tested two composite indicators of eHealth usage outcomes (internal practices and practices with patients) through 2-stage structural equation modeling. Logistic regression (odds ratios, ORs) to model the predictors of eHealth usage outcomes indicators were also calculated. RESULTS European general practitioners who were female (internal practices OR 1.15, 95% CI 1.10-1.20; practices with patients OR 1.19, 95% CI 1.14-1.24) and younger—aged <35 years (internal practices OR 1.14, 95% CI 1.02-1.26; practices with patients OR 1.32, 95% CI 1.13-1.54) and aged 36-45 years (internal practices OR 1.16, 95% CI 1.06-1.28; practices with patients OR 1.21, 95% CI 1.10-1.33)—had a greater propensity toward favorable eHealth usage outcomes in internal practices and practices with patients. European general practitioners who positively valued information and communication technology (ICT) impact on their personal working processes (internal practices OR 5.30, 95% CI 4.73-5.93; practices with patients OR 4.83, 95% CI 4.32-5.40), teamwork processes (internal practices OR 4.19, 95% CI 3.78-4.65; practices with patients OR 3.38, 95% CI 3.05-3.74), and the doctor-patient relationship (internal practices OR 3.97, 95% CI 3.60-4.37; practices with patients OR 6.02, 95% CI 5.43-6.67) had a high propensity toward favorable effects of eHealth usage on internal practices and practices with patients. More favorable eHealth outcomes were also observed for self-employed European general practitioners (internal practices OR 1.33, 95% CI 1.22-1.45; practices with patients OR 1.10, 95% CI 1.03-1.28). Finally, general practitioners who reported that the number of patients treated in the last 2 years had remained constant (internal practices OR 1.08, 95% CI 1.01-1.17) or increased (practices with patients OR 1.12, 95% CI 1.03-1.22) had a higher propensity toward favorable eHealth usage outcomes. CONCLUSIONS We provide new evidence of predictors (sociodemographic issues, attitudes toward ICT impacts, and working conditions) that explain favorable eHealth usage outcomes. The results highlight the need to develop more specific policies for eHealth usage to address different realities.

Despite the usefulness of the theory of planned behavior in predicting intention and behavior in different domains, the sufficiency of its use in predicting and determining intention has been debated by many scholars. This paper extended the theory of planned behavior by including social support as a possible determinant of intention in the entrepreneurship domain while looking at one of the largest universities in Nigeria. Data were collected from 432 final year students of Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria using a simple random sampling technique. Structural equation modeling was adopted using partial least square technique for data analysis. Perceived social support, attitude towards entrepreneurship, and perceived behavioral control all were found to have a significant effect on entrepreneurial intention, while subjective norms had an insignificant effect. The study found perceived social support to be an important social influence factor in the theory of planned behavior because of its influence on entrepreneurial intention. Hence, perceived social support is recommended to be included as a major construct in the theory of planned behavior.

Online web technologies are adopted to improve students' collaborative work. However, the factors that affect students' engagement in online collaboration (e-collaboration) have not been understood in previous studies. This research aimed to examine the extent to which students' intentions to e-collaborate can be explained by the theory of planned behavior. A sample of secondary and tertiary students was used (N = 175). The results from the partial least square approach to structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) indicated that the path coefficients of the relationships partially reinforced the a priori construction of the hypothesized model. In brief, attitudes toward e-collaboration and subjective norms were positively and significantly related to e-collaborative intentions, while perceived behavioral control indirectly predicted e-collaborative intentions via perceived e-collaborative performance. Research and practical implications have been presented in the paper.
