UNSTRUCTURED The retrospective study of Taylor's three-dimensional external fixator for the treatment of tibiofibular fractures provides a theoretical basis for the application of this technology. The paper collected 28 patients with tibiofibular fractures from the Department of Orthopaedics in our hospital from March 2015 to June 2018. After the treatment, the follow-up evaluation of Taylor's three-dimensional external fixator for the treatment of tibiofibular fractures and concurrency the incidence of the disease, as well as the efficacy and occurrence of the internal fixation of the treatment of tibial fractures in our hospital. The results showed that Taylor's three-dimensional external fixator was superior to orthopaedics in the treatment of tibiofibular fractures in terms of efficacy and complications. To this end, the thesis research can be concluded as follows: Taylor three-dimensional external fixation in the treatment of tibiofibular fractures is more effective, and the incidence of occurrence is low, is a new technology for the treatment of tibiofibular fractures, it is worthy of clinical promotion.

ABSTRACT: Osteosarcoma (OSA) is the most common bone tumor diagnosed in dogs and represents approximately 85% of canine skeletal tumors. The most commonly employed therapy is amputation of the limb followed by chemotherapy. However, preservation of the afflicted limb has been successful for patients with concomitant neurological or orthopedic conditions, which are contraindications to the complete amputation, or with owners reluctant to the possibility of amputation. For these reasons, the purpose of this study was to describe the technical procedures that allowed limb salvage through the use of pedicle frozen grafts in a dog with femoral OSA. Surgical procedures consisted of a femoral diaphyseal osteotomy with tearing of the soft tissues; thus, creating a bone pedicle that was frozen in liquid nitrogen according to the protocol outlined by TSUCHIYA et al. (2005). Limb function remained satisfactory for six months.


In this chapter we draw upon published evidence and the experience of the authors to provide guidance in stabilisation for open tibial fractures. Most orthopaedic surgeons have, through their training, reached higher levels of proficiency and expertise in methods of internal fixation than with external fixation. The difference reflects the greater number of fractures treated with internal fixation methods. Spanning external fixation should provide skeletal stability without impeding access for plastic surgical procedures. This combination of prerequisites has to be met through a mutual understanding of bony and soft tissue requirements at first debridement and at definitive treatment of the open fracture. Many fixator configurations used currently and even advocated for in external fixator manuals simply fail to meet these requirements. Consequently, we provide a clear rationale for the recommendations made and encourage adoption of the principles described.

Congenital pseudarthrosis of the tibia (CPT) is a rare congenital malformation. It is characterized by a tibial anterior bowing deformity or specific types of non-union, which typically result from abnormal development of the tibia, leading to the formation of local pseudarthrosis. The treatment of CPT is very challenging. The advent of 3D printing and computer-assisted techniques in recent years has provided a new ancillary technique for treatment planning and implementation. This case report describes the successful surgical treatment of a 14-year-old male that presented with a shortened limb deformity. Ahead of elective surgery, 3D printing and computer-assisted techniques were used to provide a 1:1 model of his left tibia, fibula and ankle joint to precisely determine the surgical procedure. The first surgery did not result in complete calcification of the tibial extension area, so a second proximal tibia iliac bone graft and internal fixation surgery was undertaken. Following regular follow-up and rehabilitation, by the 18-month follow-up, the proximal tibial bone graft had healed and the patient had resumed walking with a normal gait. This case report describes in detail the successful use of unilateral external fixation using the Ilizarov technique, 3D printing and computer-assisted orthopaedic surgery in the planning of treatment for CPT.

BACKGROUND Background: With the development of social economy, severe and complex tibial fractures caused by high-energy injuries such as traffic accidents have gradually increased. At present, the commonly used methods for the treatment of tibial fractures include plate fixation, intramedullary nail fixation, and external fixation. Most of these fractures are open wounds with severe soft tissue injury and wound contamination, and some even have bone defects, which makes the previous internal fixation treatment difficult. OBJECTIVE Objective: This study was aimed to explore Intelligent Computer Information Assisted Taylor Three-dimensional External Fixation for the treatment of tibiofibular fractures. METHODS Methods: 70 patients were collected and divided into Taylor three-dimensional external fixation (TSF) group (28 patients with severe tibial fractures treated with TSF) and the internal fixation group (42 patients with severe complicated tibiofibular fractures treated by internal fixation). After the treatment, the follow-up evaluation of Intelligent Computer Information Assisted Taylor's three-dimensional external fixator for the treatment of tibiofibular fractures and concurrency the incidence of the disease, as well as the efficacy and occurrence of the internal fixation of the treatment of tibial fractures in our hospital. RESULTS Results: The results showed that Intelligent Computer Information Assisted Taylor's three-dimensional external fixator was superior to orthopaedics in the treatment of tibiofibular fractures in terms of efficacy and complications. CONCLUSIONS Conclusions: Intelligent Computer Information Assisted Taylor three-dimensional external fixation in the treatment of tibiofibular fractures is more effective, and the incidence of occurrence is low, is a new technology for the treatment of tibiofibular fractures which is worthy of clinical promotion. Most reported cases of middle ear adenoma (MEA) have focused on histopathology because MEA is usually diagnosed postoperatively, which is considered as a major setback. We focused on the surgical aspect of the disease to facilitate a preoperative diagnosis, resulting in prompt and proper treatment, without requiring a second stage of surgical treatment. In this report, we present the differential diagnoses in a 40-year-old man with MEA requiring surgical treatment. Preoperatively, the patient was suspected to have an MEA. An analysis of the surgical procedures in similar misdiagnosed tumors has enabled us to assess surgical procedures in cases wherein the preoperative diagnosis does not coincide with the postoperative histopathological results.
