Nickel is a kind of rare metal which is widely distributed in the earth's crust, and is mainly used in manufacturing alloy. Nickel is a trace element essential to animals and plants growth and development, but high concentration of nickel will hamper the growth of plants and animals, and even produce toxic effects. This paper summarizes the physical and chemical properties of nickel, the sources of organisms exposed to nickel and the influence of different concentrations of nickel on animal and plant, and summarizes the relevant research progress.

Energized water production: Underground water, which was not con-taminated with heavy metal ions, chemicals, and much nitrate, etc. => 1) filtering through reversed osmosis pressure filter, 2) nano-sized mineral system with specific stone powder, 3) far red light expositing system, 4) magnetic field treatment, 5) oxygen supply system => energized water (EW). Physical and chemical properties: EW showed higher pH level, electrical conductivity (EC), energy levels by Killian camera and oxygen concentration; however, lower ORP, cluster size as much as 79 Hz by NMR in comparison to underground water, as control. Bioassay of sprouting vegetable plants: In barley germination test, EW showed higher germination rate, strong top/root growth, especially outstanding differentiation of roots in comparison to control. After 2 weeks, the control barley seedlings showed significant symptoms of senescence in root tissue. Also, bean sprouts greatly increased growth in epicotyls and hypocotyls, and development under EW conditions. The roots of control plants showed discolored and mal flavors and gradually decayed in room temperature. With EW supply, vegetable seeds and sprouting plants showed better growth and development of top and root parts. In conclusion, EW influenced the plants to have higher biodynamic potentials for seed germination and growth and development of new plant tissues.

Soil plays an important role for sustainable agricultural development which is a widely accepted fact. The composition of soil makes perfect recipe for proper growth and development of growing plants. Mainly the texture and contains of the soil give an idea about overall productivity of any type of soil. The present case study was conducted on the physical and chemical properties of soil at Rajgurunagar (Khed) Tehsil, Pune District (Maharashtra) state of India. The study has been conducted in 5 different localities of different directions for better understanding of nature and composition of soil. Rajgurunagar(Khed) is well known for upcoming developing region due to accumulation of various industrial companies such as SEZ, MIDC and many more. The effect of industrialisation on hydrosphere, atmosphere and lithosphere is noticeable in this Tehsil as an effect is seen on plant growth and development and is affecting on abundance, density of many plant as well as animal species. The total land area is unmanageable for agricultural development purpose. The impact of environmental factors on the soil attributes such as soil particle size which are the product of high degree of soil pollutants, organic matter content which show variability at different localities and other chemical constituents which indicate high degree of salt presence. The control measures are also indicated in a given study to overcome challenging and problem associated conditions.

In connection with the spectrophotometric study of population-type characteristics of various kinds of stars, a statistical analysis of kinematical and distribution parameters of the same stars is performed at the Toruń Observatory. This has a twofold purpose: first, to provide a practical guide in selecting stars for observing programmes, second, to contribute to the understanding of relations existing between the physical and chemical properties of stars and their kinematics and distribution in the Galaxy.

Organic farming is one of the management strategies that improve productivity of marginal uplands. The study aimed to: (1) evaluate effects of various organic-based fertilizers on the growth and yield of corn; (2) determine the appropriate combination for optimum yield; and (3) assess changes on the soil physical and chemical properties. Experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design, with 3 replications and 7 treatments, namely; T0=(0-0-0); T1=1t ha-1 Evans + 45-30-30kg N, P2O5, K2O ha-1; T2=t ha-1 Wellgrow + 45-30-30kg N, P2O5, K2O ha-1; T3=15t ha-1 chicken dung; T4=10t ha-1 chicken dung + 45-30-30kg N, P2O5, K2O ha-1; T5=15t ha-1 Vermicast; and T6=10t ha-1 Vermicast + 45-30-30kg N, P2O5, K2O ha-1. Application of organic-based fertilizers with or without inorganic fertilizers promoted growth of corn than the control. But due to high infestation of corn silk beetle(Monolepta bifasciata Horns), its grain yield was greatly affected. In the second cropping, except for Evans, any of these fertilizers applied alone or combined with 45-30-30kg N, P2O5, K2O ha-1 appeared appropriate in increasing corn earyield. Soil physical and chemical properties changed with addition of organic fertilizers. While bulk density decreased irrespective of treatments, pH, total N, available P and exchangeable K generally increased more with chicken dung application.
