It is necessary to develop a high homogeneous, low power consumption, high frequency and small-size shim coil for high precision and low-cost atomic spin gyroscope (ASG). To provide the shim coil, a multi-objective optimization design method is proposed. All structural parameters including the wire diameter are optimized. In addition to the homogeneity, the size of optimized coil, especially the axial position and winding number, is restricted to develop the small-size shim coil with low power consumption. The 0-1 linear programming is adopted in the optimal model to conveniently describe winding distributions. The branch and bound algorithm is used to solve this model. Theoretical optimization results show that the homogeneity of the optimized shim coil is several orders of magnitudes better than the same-size solenoid. A simulation experiment is also conducted. Experimental results show that optimization results are verified, and power consumption of the optimized coil is about half of the solenoid when providing the same uniform magnetic field. This indicates that the proposed optimal method is feasible to develop shim coil for ASG.

The key factor determining the strength, reliability, service life and fail-safe operation of the main pipeline is its stress-strain state. The purpose of this article is to develop a mathematical framework and methodology for calculating the stress-strain state of a pipeline section laid in complex geotechnical conditions, taking into account all planned and altitude changes and impacts at various points of operation, as well as during repair and after its completion. The mathematical framework is based on differential equations reflecting the equilibrium state of the pipeline, taking into account the features of the sections (configuration, size, initial stress state, acting forces, temperature conditions, interaction with soil, supports, and pipe layers). The equilibrium equations are drawn up in a curvilinear coordinate system – the same one that is used for in-pipe diagnostics. According to the results of the solution, all stress components are determined at each point both along the length of the pipeline and along the circumference of any section. At the same time, transverse and longitudinal forces, bending moments, shearing forces, pipeline displacements relative to the ground and soil response to displacements are determined. As an example, a solution is given using the developed mathematical framework. During the course of calculation, the places where the lower form of the pipe does not touch the ground and the places where the support reaction becomes higher than a predetermined limit are determined. A comparative analysis was accomplished, and the optimal method for section repair has been selected.

Currently the electrophysiological treatment options have been considered to be the most effective for many patients with arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathies, as well as in those with arrhythmias on the background of heart failure. Currently, the dependence of efficiency of the pacemakers on the location of the electrodes has been proven. In order to study the effect of a myocardial dysynchrony on the effectiveness of pacing depending on the location of the right ventricular electrode, an investigation has been performed. This study comprised the patients with a complete atrioventricular block, preserved ejection fraction of the left ventricle (more than 50 %), with no history of myocardial infarction, who were implanted with the two−chamber pacemaker. It has been established that the best results were achieved with a stimulation of the middle and lower septal zone of the right ventricle, the worst ones were obtained with a stimulation of its apex. It has been found that the dynamics of the magnitude of segmental strains and a global longitudinal strain coincided with the dynamics of other parameters of the pacemaker effectiveness, which indicated the pathogenetic value of myocardial dysynchrony in the progression of heart failure after implantation of the pacemaker. Therefore it could be concluded that the studying of myocardial mobility by determining a longitudinal strain for assessing the functional state of the myocardium and the effectiveness of pacing is highly advisable. It is emphasized that the use of the latest strains−dependent techniques for cardiac performance evaluation in the patients with bradyarrhythmia have a great potential to predict the development of chronic heart failure and to choose the optimal method of physiological stimulation of the heart. Key words: right ventricular lead, cardiac stimulation, myocardial dyssynchrony.

The aim of this study was to identify the optimal extraction conditions for leaves of Osmanthus fragrans var. aurantiacus. Inhibitory effects of various extracts on NO production were compared. Antioxidant evaluations for total phenol and flavonoid contents were carried out using various extracts of O. fragrans var. aurantiacus leaves obtained under optimal extraction conditions that showed the greatest effect on NO production. The optimal method for extracting O. fragrans var. aurantiacus leaves resulted in an extract named OP OFLE. OP OFLE showed DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities in a concentration-dependent manner. Phillyrin (PH) was isolated as a major compound from OP OFLE by HPLC/DAD analysis. OP OFLE and PH reduced inducible nitric oxide (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 protein expression and downregulated proinflammatory cytokines such as interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-8, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 and HT-29 cells. To determine the signal pathway involved in the inhibition of NO production, a Western blot analysis was performed. Results showed that OP OFLE decreased phosphorylation of extracellular regulated kinase (pERK) 1/2 and the expression of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB). Our results suggest that extracts of O. fragrans var. aurantiacus leaves and its major components have biological activities such as antioxidative and anti-inflammatory properties.
