Abstract Recycle and reuse of agriculture and industrial wastes becomes a big chalenge in different parts of the world. The success in the waste recycle could lead to conserve the environment, reduce the use of cement, and improve health environment. This paper presents the potential use of fly ash from olive oil waste in Jordan to improve concrete material which could be used as a sustainable material for rigid pavement and building construction material. Olive oil ash was collected from olive oil mill and replace cement in producing concrete material. The range of cement replacement was 0% to 12.5% with increment 2.5%. The results indicate that olive oil reduces the workability of concrete material. The reduction of the slump of concrete increases with increasing olive ash content. Strength and durability of concrete improved and increased with increasing olive ash content in concrete up to 7.5 percent then the strength reduced. The results in this study show that the use of 7.5% was the optimum replacement of cement. This percent could produce concrete with higher strength and higher durability in comparison with the control concrete mix. Olive waste ash enhances both strength and durability because it reduces the effective water-cement ratio in concrete mix and filling the pore and void structure in concrete material. The benefits of this study could reduce the cost of concrete and recycle waste material and enhance concrete properties.

The salt water mixes with fresh water and forms brackish water. The brackish water contains some quantity of salt, but not equal to sea water. Salinity determines the geographic distribution of the number of marshes found in estuary. Hence salinity is a very important environmental factor in estuary system. Sand is one major natural aggregate, required in construction industry mainly for the manufacture of concrete. The availability of good river sand is reduced due to salinity. The quality of sand available from estuarine regions is adversely affected due to this reason. It is the responsibility of engineers to check the quality of sand and its strength parameters before using it for any construction purpose. Presence of salt content in natural aggregates or manufactured aggregates is the cause for corrosion in steel. In this study the amount of salinity present in estuary sand was determined. Three different methods were used to determine the salinity in different seasonal variations. The sand sample collected nearer to the sea was found to be high in salinity in all methods.  It can be concluded that care should be taken before we use estuary sand as a construction material due to the presence of salinity.

In this paper, mathematical model of nonlinear vibration problems with fluid flows through pipelines have been developed. Using the Bubnov–Galerkin method for the boundary conditions, the resulting nonlinear integro-differential equations with partial derivatives are reduced to solving systems of nonlinear ordinary integro-differential equations with both constant and variable coefficients as functions of time.A system of algebraic equations is obtained according to numerical method for the unknowns. The influence of the singularity of heredity kernels on the vibrations of structures possessing viscoelastic properties is numerically investigated.It was found that the determination of the effect of viscoelastic properties of the construction material on vibrations of the pipeline with a flowing liquid requires applying weakly singular hereditary kernels with an Abel type singularity.
