China Village or Town is an urban region with Chinese as majority of the community. The China Town is located at the old part of the city of Manado and is well known as one of the oldest trade centres in Manado. As one of the urban heritage in the city of Manado, the Chinatown has unique landmarks with temples that are religious buildings for the Chinese community. With time, the quality of the environment has degraded and the image of the Chinatown has become vague. This paper investigates the existing condition of the town through site observation. The goal of the study is to make a comparative analysis of the dynamics of indices of economic indicators and sufficiency indicators used to calculate an urban environment quality index of a Russian municipality. The city of Kirov, Russia, was taken as a sample for the study, which went on from 2012 through 2018. The analysis demonstrated practically no statistically significant correlations in the dynamics of indices of individual subgroups of indicators, as well as in the dynamics of indices of individual indicators, although with a few exceptions. The results of the study confirm the need to improve the methodology of calculating the integral indices of cities and regions. These indices are related to urban ecology, quality of life, and sustainable development issues. The results also demonstrated the inadequacy of such tools for systematic and comprehensive international analysis of today urbanization problems.

This article discusses the organizational and economic problems of the functioning of public transport in the city of Novosibirsk using the example of the Municipal treasury enterprise ‘Passenger Motor Transport Enterprise No. 4’. The main objective of the study is to find ways to solve problems which arise at this enterprise and which are common for urban passenger transport in a large city. The article analyzes the results of the enterprise, as well as the transport situation in Novosibirsk. The growth of the private car fleet significantly worsened the state of the urban environment in most cities of Russia and created a number of difficult to solve problems. Based on the study of solutions to similar problems in other cities and countries, the conclusion is drawn about the need for the accelerated development of urban passenger transport in comparison with other modes of transport. The search for effective ways to influence the behavior of transport users will make it possible to create a ‘healthy city’ that forms the necessary safety and quality of life for citizens.

There are presented results of a study of the health state and the quality of life of 197 children aged 2 to 4 years, obtained with the use of the PedsQL ™ 4.0 questionnaire, which allows assessing physical, emotional, social and role functioning. All respondents equally assessed the quality of life of often ill children to be low on all scales. The analysis of the obtained data showed the dependence of the health state and quality of life of children on a wide range of socio-hygienic, material and economic, medical and biological factors: unsatisfactory material and living conditions, the high incidence in neonates, early change for formula feeding, the irrational use of antibiotics and immunomodulators. The revealed negative factors and deviations in health after frequent respiratory diseases determine a significant decrease in the quality of life of often ill children.

The movement in favor of the use of bicycles as an alternative to mobility has been booming in the last two decades. This has been inserted within the policy of revaluation of the urban environment and improvement of the quality of life in the city. In this work we expose: an analytical model of cyclist transit, the design of a cycling simulator and a path analysis and visualization tool. The objective of this simulator is to determine the appropriate streets to install bikeways in the city of Puerto Madryn. The results of this work can be extrapolated to other intermediate cities, which present low density and high population growth, with a size of less than 150,000 inhabitants.
