With the high competitiveness of organizations, the role of labor resources is increasingly growing as one of the fundamental factors of success. The staff, as the main source for the implementation the mission, have to be promoted. A fair remuneration system affects the employee’s performance. To my mind, the best system of remuneration is based on grading. The article deals with the theoretical features of the use of the grading system in a modern organization in terms of staff motivation. The article highlightes the importance of fairness in the wage system, there are several grading systems, which are divided depending on their complexity. Moreover, the stages of the introduction of the grading system based on grading are described, practical recommendations are given for the implementation of grading in the organization. What is more, the modern method of approving grades based on official grades is considered.

Abstract This study explores the latest developments on the European scale of the policies and practices towards victims of crime. Due to many economic and political factors a lot of people are in movement and exposed to the risk of becoming victims of crime. During the last decade the statistics already records enhanced victimization of the global European society. These have provoked numerous legislative actions and practical initiatives in order to ensure safety, to prevent falling victims to crime and to protect better victim’s rights and needs. The European Protection Order Directive, Victims’ Directive and Convention against domestic violence, are among the most advanced legal acts worldwide. However, it is observed that their implementation in Europe is asymmetric and sometimes problematic. This paper explores the role of the national governments and specialized agencies and mainly the deficits in their activities leading to the non-usage of victims of all the existing opportunities. The newest supra-national acts aiming at the acceleration of transposition and ratification of these important for the building of victim-friendly environment documents, are discussed. Practical recommendations for a more effective victim protection are developed.

Study Design: Literature review. Objectives: An increasing number of obese patients requires operative care for degenerative spinal disorders. The aim of this review is to analyze the available evidence regarding the role of obesity on outcomes after spine surgery. Peri-operative complications and clinical results are evaluated for both cervical and lumbar surgery. Furthermore, the contribution of MIS techniques for lumbar surgery to play a role in reducing risks has been analyzed. Methods: Only articles published in English in the last 10 years were reviewed. Inclusion criteria of the references were based on the scope of this review, according to PRISMA guidelines. Moreover, only paper analyzing obesity-related complications in spine surgery have been selected and thoroughly reviewed. Each article was classified according to its rating of evidence using the Sacket Grading System. Results: A total number of 1636 articles were found, but only 130 of them were considered to be relevant after thorough evaluation and according to PRISMA checklist. The majority of the included papers were classified according to the Sacket Grading System as Level 2 (Retrospective Studies). Conclusion: Evidence suggest that obese patients could benefit from spine surgery and outcomes be satisfactory. A higher rate of peri-operative complications is reported among obese patients, especially in posterior approaches. The use of MIS techniques plays a key role in order to reduce surgical risks. Further studies should evaluate the role of multidisciplinary counseling between spine surgeons, nutritionists and bariatric surgeons, in order to plan proper weight loss before elective spine surgery.

Today, a difficult situation has developed in the field of wages and incomes of the population, associated with the need to increase the level of wages and real incomes of the population, since low effective demand in the domestic market can become the main constraint on economic growth in the near future. The main goal of wage reform in modern conditions is to restore the role of wages as the main incentive for productivity growth and labor efficiency, which will have a positive impact on the functioning of production and will give an impetus to its further development.

The article substantiates the significance of the analysis of labor resources, considers their detailed analysis at the enterprise. The efficiency of the applied system of remuneration of labor is evaluated, labor indicators and the salary fund of the enterprise are analyzed. This allowed us to identify the main problems that arise during the analysis of labor resources. The main conclusions and recommendations related to improving the efficiency of the use of the company's labor resources are presented.

Background Recent articles have published guidelines regarding the role of endoscopic surgery in the removal of frontal sinus osteomas. These guidelines recommend the endoscopic approach for small osteomas but recommend an osteoplastic flap for larger tumors. This study presents a series of endoscopically resected tumors both large and small. Methods Retrospective chart reviews were performed. Charts were reviewed of all patients who underwent surgical resection of a frontal sinus osteoma from 1998 to 2008. Sinus CT scans were reviewed and each tumor was staged according to Kennedy's grading system proposed in 2005. Results Twenty-three patients, 8 with a grade IV tumor, 6 with a grade III tumor, and the remaining with a grade I or II tumor, underwent endoscopic resection of a frontal sinus osteoma. In 15 patients a modified Lothrop procedure was performed for tumor removal. In addition, a blepharoplasty incision was used in one patient for removal of a large orbital extension of the tumor and another underwent an enlarged frontal sinus trephine performed via a browline incision. In the remaining patients a frontal sinusotomy with minitrephination provided enough access for tumor removal. Over an average follow-up of 36 months no recurrences were noted. Symptoms improved in all but one patient. There were no postoperative complications. Conclusion Endoscopic resection of both large and small frontal sinus osteomas is feasible. In this article we have shown successful removal of large osteomas that fill the entire frontal sinus with the modified Lothrop procedure.

The Fisch Detailed Evaluation of Facial Symmetry (DEFS) and House-Brackmann grading system (HBGS) were compared by statistical examination for their reliability and interob-server variability. Furthermore, the correlation and agreement with a standard global evaluation were compared. Therefore 47 patients with facial palsy of different cause have been evaluated with the two systems, and the global overall evaluation was done by five otolaryngologists familiar with facial palsy. The DEFS showed a high reliability of 0.93 compared with a reliability of 0.77 with the HBGS (international standard requires a reliability of at least 0.8). The mean interobserver variability is 5.24% (SD = 3.2%) with the DEFS and 9.26% (SD = 5.0%) with the HBGS; with a confidence interval of 95%, it is 11.6% and 19.26%. The correlation of both gradings with the global evaluation was high, with r = 0.98 and r = 0.97. The DEFS shows an excellent agreement with the global overall evaluation in 41 (87%) of 47 cases and the HBGS in 32 (66%) of 47 cases.

The present paper poses essential questions: What knowledge should students attain and what methods should be applied? The authors started up from cognitivistic view of cognition related to: (a) organizing knowledge of science in the form of generalized ideas or major concepts that can be reduced to a large number of information items, and (b) manner of building up students? knowledge into meaningful units as matrices of interrelated concepts. Attention is directed to difficulties emerging in developing cognitive structures related to complex contents of science and methods of concept learning in the teaching process. The results of investigations show that students? mastery of concepts is poor, and the reasons are to be found in the abstract character of contents themselves, lack of ability to interrelate contents within one discipline and between cognate ones, and the absence of establishing relationships between scientific concepts in cognitive structure. An efficient method of presenting scientific concepts was given and explained at three levels, such as macro, micro and symbolic. A model was suggested as a possible method for netting concepts in chemistry at primary school level. Practical recommendations were given to teachers how to assess students? cognitive structure and how to apply appropriate methods.


Forced Grading Systems are popular and accepted for evaluating students, particularly in business schools. Under such systems students' numerical test scores are converted to letter grades (A, B, etc.) and awarded in mandated percentages. In common practice, schools mandate that 10% to 15% of students in a class receive As, 25% to 35% Bs, and 40% to 50% Cs. However, instructors must identify what numerical cutoffs satisfy mandated grade distributions, and that tedious effort might entail several solutions. This study introduces an Excel-based template with which instructors can establish numerical cutoffs that distribute students' grades in accord with mandated standards. Results indicate that the spreadsheet template is an efficient tool to evaluate students following the Forced Grading System
