The risk is connected to all types of economic activities. It is especially important for the functioning of banks, which are institutions based on society trust. The most common risk banks face is the credit risk. The first part of the paper refers to the reasons, classification and consequences of its appearance. Serious negative effects of credit risk existence force banks to design a program of managing this type of risk. The credit risk management is founded on the basis of the credit policy established separately in every bank. This policy requires choosing the policy towards the risk. Generally, there are three such policies or strategies: conservative, offensive and controlled growth. The process of credit risk management in the paper is presented as a division on five elements (risk: identification, assessment, steering, control, financing and administrating). Those issues are particularly important with the international financial crisis observed since August 2007. The origin of the crisis is linked to the collapse of the American mortgage credit market. The analysis of the reasons behind this collapse is described in the last part of the paper. It shows the points where the most basic rules of the credit risk management were ignored and leaves the question of the conclusions for the banks all over the world.

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of credit risk on the financial performance of commercial banks in Nepal. The panel data of seventeen commercial banks with 85 observations for the period of 2015 to 2020 have been analyzed. The regression model revealed that non – performing loan (NPLR) has negative and statistically significant impact on financial performance (ROA).Capital adequacy ratio (CAR) and bank size (BS) have negative and statistically no significant impact on financial performance (ROA). Credit to deposit (CDR) has positive but no significant relationship with the financial performance (ROA) and the study concluded that the management quality ratio (MQR) has positive and significant relationship with the financial performance (ROA) of the commercial banks in Nepal. The study recommends that, it is fundamental for Nepalese commercial banks to practice scientific credit risk management, improve their efficacy in credit analysis and loan management to secure as much as possible their assets, and minimize the high incidence of non-performing loans and their negative effects on financial performance.

Banks between the financial services they provide play significant roles in the country's economy The importance of banks in Kosovo is one of the essential catalysts in economic growth. The banking industry based on efficiency and performance industryis the leading indicator of the country's financial stability The pace of economic growth and long-term stability in the country varies from the level of credit and for what economic activities the bank finances. Credit risk is the primary determinant of banking performance. The higher the risk that the higher the risk is the probability of bank loss and vice versa In this study banking activities will be discussed and events in general, as well as an analysis of the financial system especially at banks, with particular emphasis on the importance of credit risk management.

The objective of this study was to evaluate whether relationship exist between credit risk management techniques and financial performance of microfinance institutions in Kampala, Uganda. Specifically, the study examined whether there is a relationship between credit risk identification, credit risk appraisal, credit risk monitoring, credit risk mitigation and financial performance of microfinance institutions in Kampala using sample of 60 members of staff in finance and credit departments of three licensed microfinance institutions in Kampala, Uganda namely Finca Uganda Ltd, Pride Microfinance Ltd, UGAFODE Microfinance Ltd. Primary data was collected using questionnaires and it comprised of closed ended questions. Secondary data was collected from the microfinance institutions (MDI’s) annual reports (2011 - 2015).  Frequencies and descriptive statistics were used to analyse the population. Pearson linear correlation coefficient was adopted to examine relationship between credit risk management techniques and financial performance.  The findings indicate that credit risk identification and credit risk appraisal has a strong positive relationship on financial performance of MDIs, while credit risk monitoring and credit risk mitigation have moderate significant positive relationship on financial performance of MDIs. The study recommends, among others, that the credit risk appraisal process should identify and analyse all loss exposures, and measure such loss exposures. This should guide in selection of technique or combination of techniques to handle each exposure.  The study concludes that MDIs should continually emphasise effective credit risk identification, credit risk appraisal, credit risk monitoring, and credit risk mitigation techniques to enhance maximum financial performance.

This article deals with the issue of managing bank credit risk using a cost risk model. Modeling of bank credit risk management was proposed based on neural-cell technologies, which expand the possibilities of modeling complex objects and processes and provide high reliability of credit risk determination. The purpose of the article is to improve and develop methodical support and practical recommendations for reducing the level of risk based on the value-at-risk (VaR) methodology and its subsequent combination with methods of fuzzy programming and symbiotic methodical support. The model makes it possible to create decision support subsystems for nonperforming loan management based on the neuro-fuzzy approach. For this paper, economic and mathematical tools (based on the VaR methodology) were used, which made it possible to analyze and forecast the dynamics of overdue payment; assess the quality of the credit portfolio of the bank; determine possible trends in bank development. A scientific and practical approach is taken to assess and forecast the degree of credit problematicity by qualitative criteria using a mathematical model based on a fuzzy technology, which can forecast the increased risk of loan default at an early stage in the process of monitoring the loan portfolio and model forecasting changes in the degree of credit problematicity on change of indicators. A methodology is proposed for the analysis and forecasting of indicators of troubled loan debt, which should be implemented as software and included in the decision support system during the process of monitoring the risk of the bank’s credit portfolio.

Objective - The study aims to investigate credit risk management practices and credit risk management strategies of the local private commercial banks in Bangladesh. Methodology -The investigation is conducted based on primary data collected from a set of both closed end and open end questionnaire from 23 out of 39 local private commercial banks in Bangladesh. Descriptive statistics has been used in processing the data and interpreting the results. Findings - The results reveal that credit risk management practice of the sample banks is sound which is attributed to the appropriate implementation of Basel II and credit risk management guidelines the country's central bank. The findings further show that use of Credit risk grading is most popular and effective criteria for measuring the borrowing capacity of the borrowers. In order to control credit risk and preventing losses from credit exposure banks give more focus on collateralization, accurate loan pricing and third party guarantee. Loan is monitored properly and credit reminder is given to the client if principal and interest remain outstanding for three months. The study further reveals that lack of experienced and trained credit officers, lack of genuine market information and Lack of awareness regarding non-genuine borrower are the most important problems of current credit risk management practices in Bangladesh. Novelty - To the best of the knowledge of the authors the study is the first that investigates credit risk management strategies of private commercial banks, especially on Bangladesh. Type of Paper - Empirical Keyword : Bangladesh; Commercial Bank; Credit risk; Credit risk management; Credit risk management strategies.

This paper focuses on the construction of college students' credit evaluation system and credit risk management under the background of big data. Firstly, based on the 5C approach, this paper evaluates the personal credit of college students from 5 dimensions and 24 indicators, which finally contribute to the establishment of the credit evaluation system for college students. Then, the partial least squares method is used to build the structural equation model to evaluate the effectiveness of the credit evaluation system for college students. According to the in-depth analysis of PSL-SEM, the factors that affect the credit risk of college students are effectively evaluated, and it has contributed to the establishment and improvement of the credit system of college students. Keywords: Personal Credit, Credit Evaluation, Credit Risk, 5C Approach, PLS-SEM.
