In the article the author attempts to outline theoretical and methodological framework used in analyzing the phenomenon of specific history politics in cities divided by state borders – places where sometimes radically different history narrations meet or even clash. The article is composed of three parts. The first one specifies the concept of history politics in nationwide dimension (“history politics”). The second part analyzes history politics in local dimension (“local politics of memory”). With reference to these two concepts – levels of history politics and politics of memory – the author indicates: goals, subjects, methods and tools of history politics/politics of memory. The final section of the paper aims at capturing the specificity of history politics in cities divided by state borders and indicating models of relations between different kinds of politics of memory in cities divided by state borders.

„Nikdo nic neví”, which is a short history of the boundary post in the Czech Republic This article refers to an event that caused an avalanche of controversy and disputes, destroying the idyll officially decreed by local politicians in the relations between the two parts of the city divided by the state border – Cieszyn and Česky Těšin. The event was the ceremonial unveiling of a replica of the Czechoslovak boundary post from the period of the First Republic, in the center of Česky Těšin, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the division of Cieszyn Silesia between Czechoslovakia and Poland. The aim of the article is, firstly, to reconstruct the discourse that accompanied this event, and secondly, to analyze the local politics of memory, in which individual narratives and undertaken actions fit in. The article consists of three parts. The first presents the characteristics of Cieszyn as a city divided by a state border. The second describes an event that caused a series of deep controversies in Polish‑Czech relations. The third part analyses the content of the discourse referring to the symbolic meaning of a replica of the Czechoslovak boundary post from the period of the First Republic. It is placed in the center of Česky Těšin to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the border dividing the city into two parts and the establishment of the youngest city of the First Republic – Česky Těšin.

This paper examines the process of Hunnic symbols introduction to urban space. The question is, why rapidly expanding and modernizing cities at the same time create so many references to ancient archaeological cultures that previously played almost no role in the urban or national culture? The main emphasis is on public past in two cities: Ulaanbaatar and Ulan-Ude. In order to provide insight into this variety of social behaviours, an increased focus is put on: indigenous placemaking, shamanic activity in the city, new temporalization and local politics of memory. As a consequence of these processes, new senses of urban space, time and history are established. The study presents the results of ethnographic fieldwork in Mongolia and Eastern Siberia 2018–2020.

The chapter proposes a methodological framework to study stance/appraisal in parliamentary discourse. Little previous research exists on the marking of stance/appraisal, despite its pervasiveness in such contexts. The researcher is currently unaware of any framework that has been developed to help analysts situate the phenomenon of stance-taking in parliamentary discourse. The first section defines the concept of parliament and discusses its roles as a political institution. The second section highlights specific features relevant to the nature of interaction in parliaments by considering the sequential nature of its discourse, shedding light on how stance is uttered and embedded in both parliamentary questions and parliamentary answers. The final section presents a proposed methodological framework combining Van Dijk's conceptual approach on parliamentary context, Du Bois's stance triangle, Ilie's account on political arguments, and Martin and White's Appraisal Framework to contextually and theoretically frame stance-taking in parliamentary discourse.

The Missouri Automated Radiology System recently passed its tenth year of clinical operation at the University of Missouri. This article presents the views of a radiologist who has been instrumental in the conceptual development and administrative support of MARS for most of this period, an economist who evaluated MARS from 1972 to 1974 as part of her doctoral dissertation, and a computer scientist who has worked for two years in the development of a Standard MUMPS version of MARS. The first section provides a historical perspective. The second deals with economic considerations of the present MARS system, and suggests those improvements which offer the greatest economic benefits. The final section discusses the new approaches employed in the latest version of MARS, as well as areas for further application in the overall radiology and hospital environment. A complete bibliography on MARS is provided for further reading.

The pre-eminent motivation behind this contribution lies in the intention to offer students of three-year degree course in education and training sciences and master's degree in pedagogical sciences of the University of Macerata a further support than those already existing, aimed at expanding the educational meaningfulness of the internship experience. The main criticality of such experience is connected with the difficulty in translating knowledge, models, ideas into appropriate activities. This notably refers to the conceptual and educational core of the sense of initiative and entrepreneurship and, consistently, to the skill to act. Therefore, after a deepening of the sense of initiative and entrepreneurship, followed by related pedagogical reflections based on the capability approach, the paper presents an operative proposal aimed at increasing young people's possibilities of action and supporting their personal and professional growth. With regard to this training proposal, the theoretical and methodological framework refers to the third generation cultural historical activity theory and to the tool of the boundary crossing laboratory, variant of the change laboratory

The effort to put good governance in development in Indonesia is basically not new. Since the Reformation, the transformation of closed government into an open government (inclusive) has begun to be pursued. Highlighting the conflicts in the land sector that tend to strengthen lately, there are some issues that have intensified conflicts in the field, such as the lack of guaranteed land rights in various legal and policy products. In this paper, a descriptive method is considered important in identifying the applicable issue and methodological framework for addressing governance issues in Indonesia. To reduce such agrarian conflicts between farmers and the government, and as an effort to increase farmers' income, all farmers are incorporated into agricultural cooperatives. Agricultural cooperatives are structured down to the National Level. Thus, farmers participate in good access to the marketing of agricultural produce. Keywords:good governance, agrarian conflict, agricultural cooperative
