In order to manage the complex simulation data management in the process of mechanical dynamics simulation, a new management model was presented which is Performance Simulation Model(PSM). The model was based on PDM product structure and the concepts and elements of PSM were defined in this paper. Furthermore, the functional framework of PSM was proposed which based on the hierarchical relationship of product structure and the data stream relationship of data structure matrix. Finally, PSM was applied on ship planetary reducer collaborative simulation platform. The result indicates that the simulation data in mechanical collaborative simulation are managed by PSM, and the problem of interaction between collaborative simulation and PDM is solved.

In this study, a transient performance simulation model of AP1000 using SCDAP/RELAP5 4.0 is developed. The reactor coolant system (RCS) and passive core cooling system (PXS) are modeled respectively. Various kinds of hydrodynamic component including Volume, Junction, Separator, Accumulator, Branch, Pipe, Valve and Pump are adopted to simulate the fluid system of AP1000. The DECLG (double-end rupture of cold leg) accident is simulated and analyzed. To study the effect of axial heat conduction, two kinds of heat structure with and without reflooding model are employed to simulate the fuel rod respectively. The comparison shows that the 2D heat conduction play important role in the reflooding process.

Accurate performance simulation can provide operating parameters and performance parameters for the gas turbine’s optimization, maintenance, and fault diagnosis. However, the components maps necessary for performance simulation are not publically available. In addition, the same type of gas turbine has slightly different component operating characteristics due to components′ variations in status and assembly tolerance. These causes bring real difficulties to the research of performance simulation. In order to obtain accurate components characteristics and performance simulation results, the original or generic components maps should be modified by the scaling factors. In the process of calculating scaling factors, the simulation model is applied repeatedly to determine the engine’s actual performance parameters until the simulated gas path thermal parameters are compatible with the actual measureable data. This paper introduces a new adaptation method and substitutes the calculation model with the simulation model in the adaptation process. It directly calculates the mass flow rate, isentropic efficiency, and pressure ratio of compressor and turbine based on measureable parameters such as gas path temperature, pressure, fuel component and mass flow rate. Moreover, this paper introduces the virtual gas generator model that enhances the applicability of calculation model based performance adaptation method on gas generators with different structures. This method has been applied to GE PGT25+ gas generator (single-spool) and RR RB211-24G gas generator (double-spool). Compared with the simulation model used in adaptation process, performance calculation model is much simpler and less time consuming.

Automobile, aerospace, and other industrial sectors have evolved over years on product life-cycle management (PLM) systems. Product design and simulation have been long used to support their enterprise-wide engineering activities. This paper describes, in detail, a case study and solution of a simulation process management project called performance simulation model (PSM) .We focus on several research issues, including integration of design process and simulation process, simulation data management, simulation flow management, and the architecture of PSM. A prototype for PSM that allows a unification of design process and simulation process by PDM’s engineering Bill of Material (EBOM) is presented. The prototype has been used successfully for static analysis of transmission system.

Human operator simulation models can play an important information role in the allocation of functions in person-machine systems. A prototype simulation model system developed at ORNL is described in which a human operator model (INTEROPS) and a nuclear power plant (NPP) process model are dynamically integrated. INTEROPS is a cognitive/ performance simulation model which is itself a dynamic integration of a SAINT task network model and a knowledge-based subsystem which reasons with uncertainty. Potential contributions of INTEROPS to NPP advanced control design are evaluated.
