The decision-making relating to effective marketing is less supported by operational methodologies and optimizing methods in high education sectors than in the companies. This paper presents an application of goal programming as an aid for the optimizing marketing mix elements. It describes a project undertaken at one of the Universities in Poland considering the marketing mix includes all 7Ps elements at University. The constraints are first identified based on interviews with academic experts and survey. The analytic hierarchy process method is used to select the forms of promotional activities and Activity-Based Costing method are performed to determine the costs of the activities. Then, based on constraints, the multiple-criteria-programming model is built and applied to construct the marketing mix model at university, and it was solved using LP-Solve software AMPL. A comparison between the newly designed marketing mix and the existing one in terms of each of the criteria shows that the overall objective function could be greatly improved, optimized value can be obtained, and the model can be easily applied in any other high education sectors. The consequence of using the model is the optimal selection (with existing limitations) of promotional activities, taking into account their impact on the perception of the image of the university, significant from the perspective of students and impact on profitability, which is important from the perspective of the university management.

Owing to the cost constraint, it is difficult to incorporate all critical features into a single product design. To deal with this issue, analytic hierarchy process is a well-known method that compares the relative priorities of critical features. This study aims to illustrate that the judgment of a designer can be used to generate multiple diversified product designs. To this end, this study proposed a multibelief analytic hierarchy process and nonlinear programming approach. In the proposed methodology, a decision maker’s judgment matrix is decomposed into several single-belief judgment matrices that are more consistent than the original judgment matrix and represent diversified points of view regarding the relative priorities of factors. To this end, a nonlinear programming model is established and optimized. The proposed methodology was applied to a smart backpack design problem. It was concluded that a designer’s judgment was often inconsistent, which was ignored in the conventional analytic hierarchy process method but could be employed to diversify product designs.

The paper deals with the group prioritization problem in the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process. We extend the fuzzy preference programming method to fuzzy group prioritization by introducing important weights of decision-makers (DMs). The modified prioritization problem is represented as a weighted fuzzy goal programming model. Additionally, we represent the uncertain DMs' importance weights as fuzzy numbers and modify the goal programming model by a possibilistic approach. Both proposed models transform the initial prioritization problems with fuzzy or crisp important weights into equivalent crisp linear programs. Unlike the known fuzzy prioritization methods, the proposed approach does not require an additional defuzzification procedure for final ranking of alternatives and can deal with incomplete set of comparison judgments.

Kata kunci: buah nangka, pemasok, bobot pemasok, goal programming, analytic hierarchy processABSTRACTConsidering that raw material cost could reach 70% of product cost, supplier selection process was become important consideration to improve the efficiency of procurement department. The supplier selection process was multi-criteria problem involving qualitative and quantitative factors. UD Virgo Bersinar was one of fruit chips manufacturer located in Malang. The company often experienced shortage of jackfruits which interrupt production process. Thus, it was necessary to choose its supplier by considering company’s criteria and order allocation of selected supplier. This research would integrate supplier weight from Analytic Hierarchy Process and Preemptive Goal Programming model to determine priority of supplier and order quantity to the supplier. The model was formulated to achieve two objective functions, namely maximizing total value of purchasing and minimizing total cost of purchasing, by considering capacity of supplier and fulfillment of jackfruit. By running goal programming model, it was concluded that supplier from Semarang would supply 7.5 ton of jackfruit in November 2013-Januari 2014 and deficiency of needs would be supplied by supplier from Tajinan. Keywords: jackfruit, supplier, supplier weight, goal programming, analytic hierarchy process

We deal with the problem of priority elicitation in the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) on the basis of imprecise pair-wise comparison judgements on decision elements. We propose a min–max goal programming formulation to derive the AHP priorities in the case that the decision maker provides preference judgements in the form of interval numbers. By applying variable transformations, we formulate a linear programming model that is capable of estimating the priorities from both consistent and inconsistent interval judgements. The proposed method is illustrated by numerical examples.

Lately competition becomes really tough, because of that each University has to choose the right strategy in order to increase their market share. Some of the strategies than can be done are by choosing the right communication media for each promotion that the university wants to do. For the reason, this research wants to know which communication media that really attracts students at Bunda Mulia University, Management Major in year 2010/2011. In this research, the writers used incidental sampling. The writers also use questionnaire for gathering the data or information need. To analyze the data, the writes use SPSS ver. 15.0 for windows. The conclusion of this research about the highest percentage to the lowest percentage of the most attractive communication media are television, internet, direct mail, magazines, radio, newspapers, outdor advertising, and the last one is telemarketing. According to result, the highest percentage of an attractive communication media is television, so writer suggest that the best media to do the promotion is television media.

Keyword :

Communication media, markeing communication, integrated marketing communication

The author focuses on the manner and effects of German higher education reforms that have changed the model of university management. The point of reference is the quality of education and its role, how universities ensure it, and how it is verified through evaluation and accreditation. These elements divide the article into two parts: a part about quality and a part about evaluation and accreditation. The analysis includes the impact of global processes and Europeanization. The research approach is characteristic for public policies, sciences of management and quality. The theories used in this article: the theory of systems and neo-institutionalism, as well as perspectives: the university as an active strategic partner, entrepreneurial university, the third role of universities. The publication is based on desk research and on the analysis of processes.

The article describes the experience of the private further professional education establishment in integration with private medical organizations as a hi-tech clinic base. The purpose of the experience was to work out an education program of professional retraining which enables medical organization to extend the range of its services. The demand for such programs investment stems from the gap between the professional level of medical workers training at universities and the needs of hi-tech segment of cosmetology service which requires highly qualified specialists. The gap between the increasingly changing market demands and the existing higher education offer may be bridged through involvement of practicing professionals in education process. The authors consider the best Russian and foreign practices of interaction between private medical establishments and private education establishments aimed at creation Centers of Excellence on the example of Neo Clinic Tuymen. The presented model shows the competitive advantages of a professional retraining education program characterized by a big concentration of resources per student and a high value of education service. The article may be useful for the university management in Russia in developing and updating strategies and programs of practice-oriented education that will meet the requirements of regional labour markets, concrete organizations and employers and contribute to graduates’ adaptation to actual production process.
